My wife was tired of me frantically running around the house trying to find my keys when I was late to work or an appointment so she picked up one of these for me as a Christmas gift the year before last. I dutifully placed it on my keychain and set it up then promptly forgot about it as I have not lost my keys once since then. Well today when I was organizing the office I stumbled upon the package and I decided I should check it out to see if it is still functioning. Well after 2 years of no use it appears the battery is now dead and I have no idea how long as there was no warning. So I replaced the battery with the extra that was generously included in the package. I then launched SGTracker and gave it a test run and alas, the beeper on it doesn't make any sound. This now will become a frustrating game of getting hotter/getting colder if I ever need to try to find my keys. And if I’m late to work or appointment that is exactly what I don’t need to be doing.

My recommendation is to skip this high tech solution (sic) and purchase a key rack or bowl instead that you just get used to ALLWAYS using for your keys as soon as you get in the house.

When I really needed it didn’t work...when I found it I had to press the button to turn it on..that’s when it connected it to SGTracker .

I’ll buy one from another brand..this one is a waste of money.

I just purchased this as a Christmas gift for a friend that’s always losing her car keys. After noticing the seal looked broken, I decided to check the box and make sure all the contents were included. Which led to further investigation. All instructions were in German even though the outside of the box were printed in English. I downloaded SGTracker and gave it a try, it’s not accurate at all. No way one would locate keys within your home. I have a rather large home and it’s got my location all the way outside on the other end of my home. Ridiculous! I’m so glad I checked, I’d have been humiliated to gift this item!

Was good when I first got it but then it stopped working. Tried to re-pair but it couldn’t even find device to pair.

The worst tracker ever. I have a brand new iPhone that can’t hold a connection signal in the next room over. DO NOT BUY this. And I have never left a 1 star review on anything I ever have bought.

Finally needed SGTracker for the first time as my wife lost her car keys. Unfortunately SGTracker can’t connect to any of the tiles. Her key isn’t working nor is mine. It’s a shame that the one time we needed SGTracker for its purpose it’s unable to do what it’s built for.

Got these so my wife won’t lose her keys anymore. Feedback on the tracker lags horribly and not real-time. Walking away from the tile only 10 feet, it’ll read 99% and only start going down slowly after 10 seconds or so. Walking back right next to the tile, the reading will not climb from 80 % to 99% again in over 10 seconds. Completely pointless! You’d have to walk at a snails pace to make this practical. Absurd was of money

I tucked the tracking in my wallet because I lose my wallet all the time. I connect it and try to put my wallet in different rooms and it seems to be working fine. Recently, I lost my wallet so I open SGTracker and the tracker will not connect at all. Fix this please or help me find my wallet.

It’s really a shame that people sell something that obviously( read the reviews) DOES NOT WORK. I can’t get the key fob to pair with Bluetooth and neither can most of the other reviewers. So the device does not work which renders SGTracker completely USELESS. I’m guessing that the person/thief that invented the device also created SGTracker - Mr. No good Thief- how do I get my money back???

Not loud enough that you can hear it very far. The last software update was two years ago. Great idea in a small package, poorly done. I wonder if someone makes something similar, that works.

Not sure if related but the battery finally died after approximately 6 months. Changed battery, ever since, when I open SGTracker it goes bonkers. Lights flashing, beeping, music, all the bells and whistles. The problem is, nothing happens on the receiver.

Got this as a gift, but was instantly sorry for my folks for buying it. Not only does it only work a few feet, but the device drains battery like crazy. I also see no need for the camera in SGTracker . Why is it even there? Overall it is upsetting that this is even a design!

Ridiculous design flaw with this device. It will only locate your phone if SGTracker is open and the phone unlocked. If you turn off the phone or it locks when not in use (as I have mine set to do) the connection between the fob and the phone is lost.
Worthless.

I also love this idea.... but it has a lot of problems in SGTracker and trying to find the keychain !

App keeps crashing when I open it.... was very useful but now not at all.

Works great and has a replaceable battery, unlike some market competition brands. However, it only locates your phone if you happen to have left SGTracker open. I get I need to leave Bluetooth on which I don’t love.... but it won’t work unless I constantly have SGTracker open!? Sure, let me just run down my battery and bog down my memory.

This works great to find keys or whatever the fab is attached to. Unfortunately if you close SGTracker it cannot find you phone :(it is unrealistic to keep up up and running ) great idea but did not think this through.

My parents take my phone away a lot so i got a tracker and would use my backup phone to find it. If you’re not on SGTracker it will disconnect the tracker. If you aren’t within the same room of the tracker it won’t connect. It’s not the best but i find my phone either way. I wouldn’t get this if you are looking to finding something far away because it’s not that efficient.

When I close SGTracker on my phone it always alerts my keys to go off, even when I’m not intending to look for them but now I have to get up to turn it off. Also, when I open SGTracker it ask for GPS tracking “allow once”, “allow while using app”, or “don’t allow”. Where is the “always allow”!? So after that point it doesn’t work unless I leave SGTracker open on my phone all the time. Fix those 2 things and I’d be happy, otherwise I should return it. I think it only flashes my camera flash when I’m literally looking at SGTracker . When I close my phone the flashing stops and doesn’t flash until I open my phone to look at SGTracker …

It's the gift that keeps on giving I've lost track of how many times that my smartgear tracker helped save me from being late to school, work, or anywhere. I can always find my keys no matter what! I would rate it 5 stars but there is only one downside with SGTracker... if it's not open ( running in the background) then you can't trigger the alarm to find your phone , other then that it's a must have!

It worked at first but now SGTracker wot. Even stay open to locate my stuff. How do I use it with out SGTracker ?! Waste of money

Junk no range goes off at the wrong time almost impossible to use effectively

Why on earth 🌍 do I need to keep SGTracker open❓If I don’t, it doesn’t work at all. And the wireless shutter release ... why❓❓Don’t purchase this. However, if you’re reading 📖 this review, it’s too late.

Does not work does not connect. Waste of money. Avoid avoid avoid.

App initially worked great. Now it crashes every time I try to use it to track my keys.
