NIU E Scooter Reviews

The scooter is great, NIUEScooter is problematic. Every time I receive or make a phone call my phone puts it through the scooters Bluetooth. Regardless of whether the scooter is on or not. If I am within Bluetooth range, which I always am when home, it connects. Even if I try to disconnect, it automatically reconnects and shifts the call to the scooter. There are no speakers or microphone on the scooter so it’s literally useless to connect a call to it. I don’t want to have to re-pair the Bluetooth every time I want to use my scooter, that’s ridiculously impractical. Please fix this, the scooter is not a Bluetooth speaker and shouldn’t connect as such. It is extremely frustrating. The only way to stop this is to forget the pair between the phone and the scooter. Additionally, the lights flash on the scooter every couple of minutes all the time. The scooter is off but still flashes. It’s obnoxious, how do you turn this thing off completely?? It freaks my dog out at nighttime.

I can’t access app anymore and make necessary changes. I had a nasty crash a few days ago because of this. I couldn’t make changes that I wanted to make the ride more comfortable and safe. I have gashes on my left hand and arm that are still oozing and sore. And getting in touch with someone via email is frustrating. I feel like an actual phone call would make it easier to resolve the issue I have.

The new scooter requires NIUEScooter to activate before using but NIUEScooter simply doesn’t work. It can’t bind to the scooter. So I bought a new scooter but can’t use it because NIUEScooter isn’t working. This is ridiculous and unnecessary. Looks like I’m not the only one with this issue. The scooter is also quite heavy and came it a giant box so returning it is a lot of hassle. The scooter looks nice and sturdy but NIUEScooter makes it completely useless!

In order to unlock any decent speed in the scooter above 9MPHThe app forces you to watch a tutorial. The only problem is every time NIUEScooter tries to launch the tutorial, error message pops up.

Now I am unable to unlock the top speed I’ve tried everything from restarting the scooter to uninstalling and reinstalling NIUEScooter . This needs to be fixed, you should not force people to watch a basic tutorial in order to use the capabilities of the scooter.

Still unresolved, customer service is unresponsive and waiting for an update or response. Might need to return due to NIUEScooter.

Don’t leave the scooter in your car anywhere - even in a safe neighborhood. I have the Niu Air. The always available Bluetooth capability makes it super easy for thieves to find the scooter in your car trunk. They just need a Bluetooth scanner app form Apple App Store. All the storage boxes near my car were broken into last night, in my garage, for the first time. I’m pretty sure the Bluetooth was what they were looking for. There is no way to turn it off on the scooter and any phone can find the signal.

Excitedly bought a brand new NIU 2 weeks ago and the battery is a dud! All of a sudden just wouldn’t work. NIU won’t immediately replace it even though I just purchased the bike 2 weeks ago. They have to diagnose it first to see if they can fix it before they decide whether or not to give me a new battery. I don’t want a repaired battery on a brand new bike! NIU company should show good customer service and immediately replace it with a new battery. Such a disappointment from a supposed high end company! What’s more stupid is that NIUEScooter says my battery is at a 98pt level. Ummm, wrong! Totally inaccurate!

The functionality is ok but the user interface is a mess.
The battery charge status and time remaining are too small. It forces me to use my reading glasses.🤬

These occupy like an 8% of the screen while the the rest 92% is occupied by an stupid animation nobody cares about.

There are no direct links to change settings. You need to click several times to get to them.

They should get rid the Range estimation since it is very deceiving and useless in real world usage.

There is no battery temperature reading which is essential to know when is cool enough to recharge or use after charging it.😩

It really annoys me the fact that it won’t let you use it if you are no connected to the internet.😤

I hope they read this and more importantly do something to improve NIUEScooter .

NIUEScooter looks and works well. My biggest gripe about NIUEScooter is that when looking at the range of the scooter in regard to battery life, it still reports the range in kilometers instead of miles despite setting NIUEScooter to miles.

Likewise, when adjusting the custom speed on my KQi3 Max it uses km/h instead of mph. I’d like to match the speed to my wife’s Ninebot Max but I don’t know KM/H well enough to know what to set it to

Please fix these two issues.

The trip tracking doesn’t work properly, you can’t see the route you took and the info is in metric despite having my settings to imperial. The Bluetooth connection is weak. The locking feature also isn’t the best, if your phone dies while the scooter is locked then you’re scooter will be bricked until you can get enough juice on your phone to unlock it.

Can you please give an option to mute or lower the sound of the scooter beeping?

Can you please add a customization for notifications, like a custom warning beep if I want to know when I hit a custom % level battery state?

Can you please give us the option to unlock the scooter by another secure option if we happen to have our phone die while it’s locked?

I will be echoing pretty much everyone here that NIUEScooter is horrible. I haven’t even begun to go through what NIUEScooter wants me to, in order to ride m, because NIUEScooter doesn’t work. When I called customer service, they were very nice and said it will be up and running within the next two days. Not an encouraging thing when you just bought a scooter and you were unable to ride it because of a stupid app.

Please can u guys improve/ fix the updating software or / firmware upgrade is very glitchy I make a download and when it’s complete I click back on firmware update and it says I need to install the same update again like if I didn’t just download it and the hole app just needs some serious time to get looked at it’s very glitchy and unreliable the scooter need suspension too but besides that everything is perfectly fine.

Actually a really great app compared to the competition. Most functions work perfectly, but for the range estimate. Even with NIUEScooter set to miles, it only displays kilometers. It’s frustrating to have to convert it outside of NIUEScooter just to see how far I can go. There are a number of other reviews noting this but it’s been months with no update. Will change this review if it is ever fixed. NIUEScooter estimates the charging time to full for you which is really cool too.

NIUEScooter controls the essential functions of the scooter. NIUEScooter itself shows Km instead of miles even though I have it set in miles. Also the mapping feature doesn’t work after the screen goes to sleep on an iPhone.

Hi, I love my Niu scooter and NIUEScooter . My only complaint is that I can’t put the local time on the scooters screen through NIUEScooter . First it doesn’t have my country as an option( Panama) even though Niu has a local Dealership. Also I can’t understand why NIUEScooter doesn’t simply use the local time that my phone uses (iPhone 11 pro Max). It would be so much friendlier if it just used the phones local time which is exact. Hope this issue can be fixed soon. I’ve had my scooter since October 2020 and this issue still hasn’t been addressed. Thank you

I didn’t experience any of the problems everyone else did. App worked almost flawlessly for me and the KQI pro 3. Only problem I had was with the tutorial stopping halfway through for no reason but I just synced the scooter to my Bluetooth and restarted it. Other than that, works just fine.

Initially I was having issues with NIUEScooter after I updated NIUEScooter (Miles per hour turned to km, and like some others have mentioned my trip log stopped working) but once I emailed NIU support they were able to log into my scooter and fix the issues.

Scooters are certainly fun and easy to operate. In NIUEScooter if you want to change NIUEScooter display from Km to Mi, click your profile and choose unit of measurement. So far it’s tracking my distance gone and time ridden but I’m not seeing a route log. That would be a benefit. I also love the setting where you can turn off kick to start. Huge plus!

I’ve never had a problem controlling my KQi 3 through NIUEScooter , although I haven’t done a lot of customizing things like regen rate or creating a custom mode. The one thing that annoys me though is that although I’ve set the distance and speed measurements to miles, kilometers show up all over NIUEScooter , especially the estimated distance on the battery. It would be nice to not have to pull out a conversion chart to see if I have enough range to make a trip.

First off love my KQi2. Great commuter scooter. NIUEScooter is alright but it’s annoying that it is only in km and not mph. People complaining about their settings not saving but I’m guessing they aren’t clicking “save” in the top right. The scooter beeps every time you click it too which is nice.

Also NIUEScooter is kinda difficult to navigate. The three dots in the corner of the first screen are not apparent enough, but have a lot of useful tools. They should be easier to find, maybe just have the tools on the first screen as well as the stats.

Other than that NIUEScooter works well.

I was a bit weary after seeing other negative reviews but this application has been working flawlessly for me and it’s very nice to be able to see past routes / battery charge and remaining distance. I wish I could power on the scooter with NIUEScooter , but using the key is not the end of the world.
