🏷️ About: Gladys is a drag-and-drop shelf that holds things you want to set aside, such as links, text snippets, map locations, contacts, images, photos, emails, messages and much more (even if the application that the information came from is removed) It works with any app that supports drag-and-drop, and helps keep you focused by letting you quickly set something aside, without having to consider where it needs to be dropped, or havi.

Copying an item freezes the app

2022-12-02

App is crashing on 16.0.2.

Whenever you select and hold a copied item in Gladys clipboard a context menu pops up.

When you select "copy" Gladys freezes on the context menu. Causes iOS to freeze for a few seconds

Copy to clipboard freezes app in iOS 16

2023-01-02

Pressing and holding an item and selecting ‘copy to clipboard’ or opening an item, tapping the hamburger menu, then tapping ‘copy to clipboard’ freezes Gladys . It will eventually crash if left open, but faster to force quit it.

Huh!

2023-02-03

Open this app takes the whole screen, open an app, trying to drag and have this app appear, as in the videos...nothing.
A trick that’s not obvious to get it to work.
Please help

Add folders please!

2023-03-07

Tags are cool, but FOLDERS are much better!
I would like to stack some links or documents in the same folder as Yoink app does. Folders are very useful and more simple than tags, please add them 🙏🏻

Modified review

2023-04-05

ORIGINAL: Not sure what the use case is for an external shelf app that doesn’t provide enhanced accessibility to files. You can’t do anything “extra” with Gladys—old limitations still exist.

EDIT: The developer’s response to my original concern is appropriate. I’m probably trying to place square pegs into round holes with my specific use case. Rather than rate Gladys one star because it doesn’t solve my needs, I am modifying the rating to Gladys ’s current average score to avoid unfairly penalizing the developer.

Works well

2023-05-07

Sync is rock solid. My 5 star requests are admittedly subjective: a true dark mode for OLED screens and improved icon (or ability to select from differently colored icons—maroon is hideous).

App is crashing badly

2023-06-07

Gladys is great. However, it is crashing whenever I try to open it to do anything. I can not even keep it open long enough to see if there is a location within Gladys to contact help support to send request for support.

Very handy

2023-07-09

Very handy and useful, especially for those Mac users used to saving things to their desktop etc. it honestly feels like this should be a part of iOS natively.

Only problem is the icon. Really not attractive. Gladys UI itself is great, but that icon...

Simple and Beautiful

Love Gladys . Beautiful and simple to use. I highly recommend it!

the ipad app I’ve been looking for

2023-09-10

I never, ever write reviews, but Gladys has pretty much eliminated my need for a laptop at work. I use my ipad for work and personal stuff. At work having it plus a laptop is clunky and redundant but I use functionality that Chrome for desktop provides. Now that I’ve found this app I can stop using the Macbook (at least for meetings) and rely solely on my ipad. Gladys offers so many features I’m kind of blown away. Thank you!!!

Copy to clipboard crashes

2023-10-12

In iOS 16.0.2, so probably not related to copy paste bug.

So good

2023-11-12

Gladys feels like it should be part of the OS. It makes drag and drop on the iPad much more convenient and easy. Highly recommended.

So good.

Smooth, intuitive, extremely useful, and with a touch of nerdiness and personality to boot. I do wonder if Gladys has been abandoned... we're at nine months since the last update and there's still no automatic dark/light mode switching, which is pretty basic functionality at this point. Still stellar tho.

Update: Dev just addressed every last concern, including some new, long-awaited functionality on the macOS version. Made a great app better.

Best clipboard shelf app shared across iOS and macOS!

2024-01-14

I’ve used many “clipboard” and “shelf” apps over the years. This is the best so far. And it gets better all the time.

Get the macOS version, too!

I really, really like this app. Major positive impact on my workflow with the Mac, iPad and iPhone. If you’ve bought into Apple’s ecosystem, you NEED Gladys.

And hey, don’t complain too much about the icon. You’ll get used to seeing her with her “librarian” looks.

My new favorite developer

2024-02-15

This is so easy to use and supremely helpful. Thank you so much! I also love it that you don’t collect and sell our personal data.

Wow!

2024-03-18

This is amazingly powerful yet simple and easy to use. It is as practical as the (missing from iOS) desktop, but it has the potential to boost your potential by much more than the desktop. I personally see it as a potential repository for all my files: readily accessible to archive any kind of info and the info is easily retrievable by using labels.
I can think of a couple of updates that could rally turn Gladys into a real productivity booster:
- allow to search the annotations you do on the PDFs
- support the pdf outlines
- batch label files
- allow Boolean search of labels (AND, OR)

Love it

I use this all the time and have 200+ entries. It’s getting a bit difficult to find occasionally used urls. It would be fantastic if I could put them into folders. I would pay for that option.

An Essential Productivity App

2024-05-19

After less than a week of use, this app is already one of my *all-time favorite* iOS productivity apps. Gladys is deceptively simple; the potential use cases in the era of iOS drag-and-drop are immeasurable. On my iPad, the functionality of this app already “feels” like a “natural extension” of iOS multitasking. IMHO, Apple should acquire Gladys.

Love it

2024-06-19

This is one of those apps which you didn’t know you needed. I use it as a quick repository for the things I encounter. I also started using it to save Reddit posts (since there is no search function for your saved posts in the Reddit app). You get very useful and powerful options. Love it...

Amazing app and equally awesome support!

2024-07-21

Gladys blows the several others I tried out of the water. And for $0.99 nonetheless! Yes, unlimited usage for 99 cents, most other apps with the ability to do what this app does costs far more and works far worse than this app. Better yet, I was having an issue restoring my purchase and Support got back to me within minutes with the commitment to work with me to get the problem fixed and a list of steps to troubleshoot with. And problem solved minutes after!

Very rare to find a great app, for 99 cents, with great support, and still be low-key enough to not be a popular app in Gladys Store.

I don’t write reviews on many apps (I’ve written like 2), but this one is warranted.

Get this app!

Not useful for everything

2024-11-18

Maybe I’m confused. Many web pages I save to this app don’t open. All I get is some info tag that means nothing to me.

Always reliable

2024-11-18

She’s always there for you, keeping your items safe. My use cases are more around keeping things I want to remember or find later, and less around dragging and dropping. I’ve tried many shelf apps for this, and so many, including many newer competitors, seem to lose what I store. this app to the rescue.

This need to be acquired by Apple rush!

2024-11-18

I’m praying that Apple offers this developer $10M for Gladys so we all can have this standard on iOS! Is THAT GOOD.

Features

• Ideal for bookmarking between apps: For example you can quickly return to dropped email items by selecting 'Open' in their info view, quickly share links between different browsers, or use Siri shortcuts to copy often-used items to and from your clipboard.

• Experienced users can get details on dropped items and extract or modify specific data components (e.g. extract the URL of an image link, instead of the whole item, add a new image, or edit the title).

• Power users can use Gladys' data mirroring to view/edit items in-place from other apps, as well as exporting all items in a ZIP file for sharing.

• Technical users can inspect binary data using the in-built hex viewer, download items pointed to by web links, and even archive web pages.

• Invite friends to keep items from your own collection in their own collections, and, if you give permission, even collaboratively annotate and edit them.

• Works with any app that supports drag-and-drop, but also provides an extension for apps that don't yet support it, as well as the ability to paste items to & from the clipboard.

• Annotate items with notes, custom titles, and tag items with labels that allow you to easily categorise, browse, and sort your collection.

It works with any app that supports drag-and-drop, and helps keep you focused by letting you quickly set something aside, without having to consider where it needs to be dropped, or having to constantly switch between apps.
