I know this is an obvious situation, most scooters do stop working after a certain time of night, but they will tell you what that time is and if you try to rent they’re scooter it will tell you again. But this scooter seems to not have this info available anywhere. I was unable to find it on JUMP or any where I searched. I was hoping to find something that runs after 11 because that’s when I get off of work and have to walk 20 minutes to my car. I know that finding something like that is unlikely but I would at least like to know. After hours if you try to rent a scooter, it will not tell you that it is no longer running at that time, instead it will tell you that it is unable to connect and to try a different scooter. Me not knowing if it is a problem with the scooter is where I end up wasting my time late at night just to see it I can get one to work, then I end up trying a few different ones to realize it is probably not running at that time. Honestly all I want is to be able to get from work to my car at night quickly so I don’t have to nube scared .

In theory, this app bikes is a good idea. However, after downloading JUMP and setting up an account, it would not allow me to rent a bike. The error message said I needed to update my credit card info, contact my bank, or contact this app Bike. I tried all of these things. I tried re-entering by cc info, and I also used my husband’s credit card. Neither worked. I contacted my bank and they said that Uber had tried to authorize the charge and that it had worked on their end - it was not declined. Finally I tried to contact this app Bike, but it is impossible to get anyone on the phone when you contact customer service. I also tried using the Uber app, but had the same problem. The whole process took about 45 minutes, which wasted precious vacation time. In the meantime, four of my friends had all started their this app bikes and were being charged by the minute. Although they did stop their bikes after it was clear that it was going to take a while, they still got charged. In the end we weren’t able to make it work and the whole process was a total waste of time and money.

There are lots of bad and negative things I can say about JUMP and whoever run it but let’s focus on my title “scam” and let me explain this. One of the way they scam you is rounding the minutes of your ride, if you ride 3 min and 9 seconds , they will charge you as for full 4 minutes. Another thing is almost every second ride you’ll not be able to finish your ride and it will keep on charging you until it decides to randomly stop. Most of the time you’re gonna be too busy to fight back for these overcharged 1-2$ and that’s how they make their money, imagine thousands of people like me or you just having not time or energy to be texting back and forth with the customer service for these coins. Customer service will keep on asking you stupid questions like where did you leave the bike and what’s the bike number when you’re already left the bike hours ago.. how are you supposed to remember that ? Whenever you get to a call center they’ll tell you that refund will be there in couple days and it’s never there.. disgusting.. don’t waste your time on this bikes or JUMP. Thanks

JUMP make you setup an account and give your personal information before allowing you to even view JUMP . Once logged in, there are absolutely no instructions. I thought the whole point of JUMP was to locate bikes and/or scooters for rent. It doesn’t show any symbols I my area or tell me how to locate a vehicle. I’m not sure if it is even available in my area as there is no way to contact anyone. The help or faq doesn’t say anything about locating bikes or scooters. It also doesn’t allow you change your or check other locations to see whether vehicles are. Why wouldn’t the developer think that people may want to find areas where they can rent a bike outside of their current location i.e. I may want to include a bike rental in my vacation plans or as a part of a date and need to know in advance where the area has bikes or scooters available? I hope that get it together because the concept is great but it stops there. Hopefully the developers will read this and make it more user friendly with location options available. Meanwhile, I’m uninstalling JUMP .

I loved this app when I first started using it—it was an inexpensive and more enjoyable alternative to public transportation. But I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t frustrated with a this app, and today was my limit in patience. My first this app wouldn’t unlock even after I scanned it and was “in ride”, and there was no way to stop the ride or try to unlock it again! This is the second time this has happened to me. The second this app I rented actually unlocked, but the motor didn’t work and I felt like I was biking through mud. So I parked it and found a new one—to my surprise, this one is working fine, until I try to brake going down a hill at a red light...luckily I was able to dig my foot in and horribly scuffed up the bottom of my shoe, but at least I’m alive. The most annoying part? When I ended the ride there was nowhere for me to submit that the bike is dangerous to use—I had to send a separate submission. With the price hikes, bad UX and unreliable products, I’m officially calling it on this app. At least their customer service is good.

Love the bikes, when they work. Unfortunately, there’s a really long way to go before the service actually functions well. I use the service pretty frequently to commute to work of other places. I used to use ford go bikes until they removed the e-bikes.
1/5 times the pedal assist doesn’t work
Location of the bike is usually inaccurate, sometimes I can’t find a bike at all and need to cancel reservation
I try to return the bike to a gift icon place for credit but it’s unclear if I receive a credit or not (I think sometimes I get an Uber credit? But not all the time and it doesn’t tell me in the this app app)
Customer service tells me I need the newer version of JUMP even though I already have it
Wrench icon on the keypad never ever works, so I have to email customer service when the bike doesn’t work. It happens a few times a week.
App is extremely slow and buggy - sometimes get stuck in loading mode for minutes.
When I try to end the ride, sometimes it won’t end for minutes after I lock the bike. Sometimes it’s 2 minutes, sometimes it’s 5 minutes, sometimes it’s 2 hours. This is really inconvenient because 1) they charge by the minute and 2) sometimes I just want to use another bike because the previous one was broken, but I can’t because JUMP still thinks I’m on the ride.

This will be my first and last time using this service. I have used the others and never have had any inconvenience however with this app they charged me a $25 parking fee and JUMP did not inform me of the issue until after the scooter was returned and the trip ended. When I contacted the company through JUMP I received no response back into trying to correct the issue. There should be a warning before completing about the trip if parked in the wrong area. I returned the scooter where it was found with the multiple other scooters parked. I only used the device for a few minutes because most of the areas around limit you to have fast you could go and seemed like there was no ability to go above what seemed like 5 mph. I ended up having to grab a different companies scooter to actually have a good experience. I would definitely NOT recommend this company to future riders.

JUMP used to be pretty great. With the recent big update which I got in mid August things have become almost nonfunctional. I don’t really understand how it could go from working well almost all the time to having troubles over half the time. Sometimes I’ll scan bike after bike —which show up on the map as available — to get an error “this bike cannot be checked out at the moment” every time. Now when a bike does get past that hurdle, JUMP times out over and over. I used to rely on these bikes to get around Seattle and recommend them to everyone. it’s sad that i can’t seem to do that anymore until JUMP issues are fixed.
Also they seem to have gotten rid of all human customer service and the Help phoneline is now just a tree of technical help. I have to wait days for someone to reply via email or JUMP . Super frustrating move on the company’s part.

I tried to make this app my commuting device of choice but the incidence of crappy situations is just too high.
JUMP has an illogical issue reporting system. I have accidentally unlocked a bike with a flat tire 3 times. I wish the bikes would display as broken or unavailable, either in JUMP or on the physical bikes. Each time when I tried to log the bikes as broken in JUMP , I could not do so while on the trip. I had to end the trip, then go into my trips and find that bike, then log the issue. HERE’S THE CRAPPY PART: After I logged the issue, the bike still shows up as available for other users!!! So somebody else will have to discover the flat tire after me, even though I did my diligence as a user and reported it. Awful business model. This morning, I stumbled across 2 bikes that displayed “broken” on the bike, but not on JUMP itself. This is a horrible user experience — to walk a block or two to a bike you reserved only to see it is broken. I Now I’m on a lyft, late.
Other than this horrible misstep, I love the company. The bikes are comfortable and fast, and the phone holder is extremely useful. The reservation system is great, except when I reserve a BROKEN bike.

Rideshare is awesome, and between the Lime and this app bikes, I like the this app bikes better. However, the experience has been less great and I’ve started using the other service more due to the locking issue I have with this app bikes. When i first used the service the rides would end within 10 seconds of locking the bike. Now, I consistently struggle to end the ride via app. The bike will be physically locked but JUMP is still going sometimes for 3 more minutes while I walk away and it charges me before the option the end bike with “done” is provided. This has been the case every single ride for the last month. I’ve complained a number of times via JUMP and they usually adjust the time accordingly but it’s hassle so I’ve only done it maybe 1 out of 10 times the lock has delayed. It’s super aggravating and I strongly dislike paying the extra minutes when I’m not using the bike.

EDIT: this app finally acknowledged their GPS was "misreporting" my end location and refunded the $75 in wrongful fees. I do still worry about future trips. For someone on lower income, losing $75 and it taking a week to get it back could be really devastating. Fortunately it was more of an annoyance for me. Either way, credit to this app for making it right.
I have used this app frequently for months now, but recently their service has taken a nosedive. I've been charged $25 out of zone parking fees three times now, and none of my messages to the company have been returned. Terrible customer service. Watch out - I know well enough where the zones are, and just this morning I parked well outside the zone - in app GPS reflected this (i.e. well south of the Natiobal Mall in DC) - and JUMP failed to give me an out-of-zone warning. Then? $25 fee - bang! Gotcha! I am. I am not a tourist, I'm a regular rider who has suddenly found this app's parking fees to be inaccurate, arbitrary, and capricuous. My dozen messages over 3 rides have been ignored. I think this is the last straw for me and this app. I would suggest the buyer beware. If JUMP trucks you, they will Stone cold ignore you.

I like the electrical system very much as it turns transportation into a nice workout. I was not too sure about the gearing so I needed to experiment to see which gear worked best for the flat and for going up hills.
The ride is very harsh. If you go over a bump you feel it all the way up to the top of your head. Please design a bike with better shock absorbers. I am mostly dismayed that I cannot ride the bike out of the system area for fear of getting the fine. I rode to the top of Buddy in Brentwood and was out of the zone. I go there twice a week to teach yoga and was hoping to be able to use the this app bike to get there, teach the lesson and glide all the way back down the hill to where I need to go. But with the service area, I could not do that. Maybe there’s a workaround for that, if so I would like to know how to handle it.

Picked up bike at Frederick & Broadway hub. Check in, bike unlock very slick with Acct # and PIN. Bike is heavy and seems oversized until you get on the saddle. Takes some getting used to low speed travel. Like going around a corner or stopping at a stop. Boost Work’s quite well, I would have liked a little more boost on the steeper hills, I could imagine a small, not so strong rider having some hard pedaling with such a heavy bike. Make the bell more obvious, I didn’t find it till after the ride. Is there a rear light? Looks like the battery pack has provision for one, didn’t look when I was riding. A front light would be nice, how to secure it? Check in was easy and liked the ride summary, including cost.
Overall, a very well thought out system, will definitely ride some more.

Hi. I’m using JUMP and service in Santa Monica. Unlike the Birds or Limes, I love that this app bikes are safer and handle bumps and turns like any bike. Having the assisted pedaling is amazing and let’s me power past vehicles with ease while still offering me a good exercise. I love the built in u-lock and its dockless capability. And the bright color makes it more visible by idiot car drivers and to find in a pile of bikes. My only complaints for JUMP and the bike:
- the screen on the bike needs to be backlit.
- the interface on JUMP needs some improvement to allow finding essential info (pin and account and current status) more intuitive
Otherwise, this is a great solution over the now ubiquitous scooters that provides a fun and safe way of getting around, with the basket and cup holder.

Jumpin on dis Bike is Lit. Super convenient to get around the city as at fast time without having to deal with traffic but, watching out for dumb drivers. I get to run errands and meet up friends without having to wait for an Uber even though yall do own the this app bike right correct me if im wrong.
The this app bike is $2 for 30mins and $4 for an Hour thats awesome!!! I get to pause the ride & loco it up so no one else can use it. Unlock it by putting my pin and get going to the next destination. I Love using the this app bike it only took me 16mins to get to 20th and Mission from Sutter & Taylor
Thank you this app bike for creating & coming up with this genius app. You guys are geting people to get off your bottoms and get it Jumpin on a this app Bike!!!
