I'll give Rooster the five stars it deserves if the developer would actually respond to emails. I've emailed more than once — yes to the correct email address, and the emails were opened by the recipient within literally minutes of me sending them because my email app tracks every open. But sadly you'll never get a reply. This is doubly annoying because Rooster clearly states, as does his website, that he is eager to hear from you, and he will respond to you if you contact him. Obviously not.

This is a brilliant calendar app, as all the reviews clearly testify. I don't know of any calendar app this good, and I've bought them all. Seriously. I've spent enough money on calendar apps to buy a small island in the South Pacific. I live and die by my calendar every day, and finding this app was like finding a diamond in the desert. All of us using this app would love to cheer this developer on to even greater success, but it seems like Rooster is dead. A real shame. This could very easily be the one to dominate Rooster Store.

This is still a pretty new app and it is great at consolidating my tasks and calendars which is what I need. I love the ability to pin tasks to the top so I can keep an eye on them before actually having to schedule them and I love that my unfinished tasks automatically roll into the next day. I’m able to categorize my Reminders and then this app sees those categories. But it could use a few more features such as ability to seamlessly switch a task from the pick list to a specific day and the ability to assign additional statuses to a task (such as in progress or delegated). It isn’t perfect for me but I’m holding out for a few more months to give the developer a chance for some enhancements because I see the potential here.

I love Rooster so much! I’ve tried so many other calendar/agenda/tasks reminders apps but none of them meet the level of this app, except for 2 features that this app doesn’t have. I would love a widget on the Today page on iPhone or even the Home Screen so I can check off my list without opening up Rooster , and I would love to be able to have it on my Apple Watch. I’m currently using this app along side another productivity/reminders app because I love this app so much more, but I need to get my daily task list reminders on my phone, so I’m running the other one (hopefully!) temporarily right now just hoping these will be added in the next app update. Thanks for making such an awesome app!! It’s absolutely changed my daily routine by having lists with my cleaning schedule and other tasks to just keep me focused, being a homeschooling mom who also works from home running my own small business. My housekeeping has never been better & I finally feel like I have a handle on it!!

Note to developer: I absolutely love Rooster, but I do wish it would sync with & had complications for my Apple Watch, as I’m currently using this along with another productivity app for my reminders. With watch integration, I could simplify and only use this app. Also, Rooster crashes each time I try to edit an existing task, so I’m finding myself having to delete and re-enter tasks that need to be edited. These updates would make it more than a 5-star app for me!

It’s a pleasant app. Elegant design; the clean lines, minimal font, and lively colours stimulate your motivation. Easy to use and takes no time or mental effort which I find really helps in staying focused on the work itself rather than the planning of it.

It seems to be intentionally minimalistic, which is efficient and easy to use, but there is room for some more features.

Has a few glitches. For example Rooster shuts down every time I attempt to edit an existing task. But this doesn’t bother me, using it is so easy that I can delete a task and write a new one with the edits intended.

I tried a great number of tasks/schedule apps and continue to test new ones and the updates, but this is one of the closest to what I’ve been looking for: functionality, simplicity, and elegance.
I use this app and two other apps which I find compliment and complete eachother where one misses a feature the other provides - out of which this app has the best visuals.

I trust the creators will keep improving it. It is a very pleasant app.

I love the design of Rooster. It’s easy to see the pertinent information for the day and week. A quick swipe allows me access to the month view, and it’s easy to scroll back to any date I’d like.

I have a request. Part of what makes Rooster so appealing is that I can replace to app slots with this one app. However, there does not currently appear to be any way to turn notifications on for this app. The visual reminder of an app badge is important for me, is there a way to add this functionality?

What I love most is being able to see at a glance how busy my whole month is and where I might be pushing myself too hard or not enough. Rooster is very simple to use and gives me great visualization of my time. A widget would be awesome, but honestly what I would most love to see is an option where my scheduled tasks could be arranged in time order with my events. Then if I could also see those scheduled tasks in the month view (preferably in a separate color or texture), it would totally make this a 6 star app for me.

you can tell this was built with design in mind because it is probably the best looking calendar/scheduler on Rooster store. i should know because i’ve tried about a dozen of them and this one is likely going to stay on my home screen (and I wasn’t even looking for a scheduler!).

and now for some of my wishes:
1. an automatic dark mode that coincides with iOS dark mode
2. I’d like to see the “pinned” section grow as items are added. right now it’s either a single line, or half the screen. if i have three pinned items, i’d like to just see those three without taking up half the screen.
3. after you slide the drawer to see the “Timeline/Details” slider, i’d like to see one more view option that will show a whole standard calendar with the events filling up each day. this view is the standard in Rooster TinyMonth and its super helpful to see an entire month at a glance.

I think I will really like Rooster if it is still supported. I like apples calendar and apples reminders but was looking for a way to join them together. this app does that. I found each time I turn on the Notifications feature, it would be turned off when I went back in settings. Attempted to report to developer but get responses that email can not be found or sever not there. Is Rooster still supported? Would change to 5 star if it is.

I love using this app to keep up with my daily tasks as i work a gig job through multiple companies and it can be hard to keep up with multiple schedules! I LOVE the feature that allows me to check off a task once it’s completed. I would like it better if it asked before moving an incomplete task to the next day as I sometimes just forget to check it off and look back at my previous schedule to see where I was at certain times/days. Also I’d prefer the option for repeated tasks to always show up (not just after the first one is completed) because I need to see when I’m available before booking. Or maybe to easily re-create a previous event from app memory without completely redoing it. Would be helpful if events created in calendar app transferred as tasks so I could check them off or if events were able to be checked as complete as well.

Having the integrated TASK feature is a big help rather than having to also use iOS Notes app. this app is slightly diff than using iOS Calendar app - not necessarily better or worse. I am learning new features as I go along.

I think it will grow on me over time. I would give it a 4.75 rating and still rising.
The Task entries stay on the startup screen which I use to remind me to attend to them.

I wish I could change the Alert 1&2 Settings without having to pick Edit button like I can in Calendar. I set alerts typically as 1 & 2 days in advance then when the 2 day alert goes off I change the 2 day to 2 hours, then the 1 day to 1 hour. Wish that could be automated which would be a big leap over Calendar app.

The current day does ‘soft lock’ on Today. if you tap on the Day-Date at top center it moves you to the TODAY list. Very helpful.

I wish it had a setting to put my phone ringer on mute during an event as an option. It would help when I forget to change the vol switch or raise the vol setting before & after a meeting. That would be a real plus !

I rarely write reviews but Rooster deserves all 5 stars and a write up!

this app syncs with all your calendars and iOS reminders. You can create tasks and events and set reminders - and there is dark mode - thank you!! I love that tasks are pinned to the top, too, with a pull down button.

This is a free app. I’ve used many paid apps including Moleskine Timepage and Journey, and Awesome Calendar just to name a few. But I grew so tired of overly priced subscription fees for a calendar app! I was searching for something with the expectation that I would have to sacrifice quality and features in order to get an app that was free or one-time purchase: that did not happen!!! I could not be more pleased with this app - an ad-free, quality, well-thought out, and well-developed app. Thank you!!

Developers: I have tried watching the videos to support Rooster but always get an error message.

Okay, so life changing might sound dramatic but I’m serious. I think I’ve used pretty much every calendar app there is. It may not work for everybody because people have different things they need to keep track up. I need to know what I have going on for the day and what I need to do for the day. This allows me to enter those items quickly and drag them around to change. No more keeping a separate to do list and calendar, it’s an all-in-one. I also keep all the things that I need to do soon but not immediately pinned at the top and out of you and open it on occasion and drag some things to the day that I plan to accomplish them. I am constantly thinking about what I have to do because I feel like I’m going to forget things. Now I have everything organized and relax when I’m not working on my to do list!!! This is the second review I have ever written.

SUPPORT with Rooster is 💯++++

Most calendar apps out there are just versions of the same native calendar app on the iPhone. Not so with this app.

I received a fun and friendly email from this app asking me how I was liking Rooster . On a whim I replied and let them know why I deleted their app.

Within days they had added the new “calendar gaps” feature so I could see my day and the times available in it just like using an old school planner.

I assure you this exists nowhere else in calendar land.

It takes a little time to get acclimated to the features/layout of this app, but just a few days with Rooster and you’ll find it more intuitive and user friendly than most clunky calendars you’ve tried on your phone.

Highly recommend Rooster and by all means let support know if there’s something they can improve — they genuinely want to know!

Those two words describe this app. I love that it integrates with the iCal and Reminders and puts them all in one place instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. Adding tasks and events are super easy with the QuickCal. The fact that there is no sign in is a huge plus because I don’t need another password to remember. The developers are also a quick email a way if you have questions and super quick to get back to you.

Not sure how many calendar apps I've tried, but until I tried this one, I still ended up going back to adding events on the go by emailing the information to myself. Too many times, the sync didn't work properly or the information was recorded on the wrong day. this app immediately pulled up all my calendars.

Things I especially like:

*Simple and intuitive
*Few keystrokes needed
*Separate add button for each day (not having that is where errors occurred with another app)
*Quick toggle between full and compact views
*Year overview - easy jump to any date
*Pin thing at the top - good for me for listing upcoming races

Drawbacks:

*Can't distinguish the dot colors in compact mode on a small screen phone (minor, since if I really want to know, I can quickly toggle to the expanded mode).

Rooster is everything I’ve ever wanted! I scoured Rooster Store looking for apps (which, truth be told, only had a fraction of the featured this app provides) and none of them were helpful! Rooster is really amazing and is beautiful to look at! I’m definitely recommending it to my fellow planners that are also having trouble finding a great organizer/planner/scheduler! I have some suggestions as well, Rooster is awesome without them, but I personally would really appreciate them! A light theme on the timetable would be really nice, having a vertical option for the horizontal timetable would be really neat! Anyways! Bang-up job! You are all awesome! Thank you so much!

I have downloaded and bought soooo many calendar apps, including ones that have been editor’s choice and ranked/rated high. This has pretty much everything I’ve been looking for. I had like 10+ calendar apps on my phone, but since this app I have deleted most of the them.
I am looking forward to the Apple Watch app, widgets, and maybe added copy/paste/duplicate/template events or shift template capability.

Best calendar! So easy to use while having all the features I need. It has made staying on top of everything so much simpler for me. The shortcuts on the Quick Keyboard are particularly helpful and I love the pin board and timeline views. It saves me from having to check multiple apps. If there was one thing I could ask for it would be a desktop version but i can still use it with my apple calendar. Much better than Fantastical and Timepage and highly recommended!

This is a really well thought out calendar app. I had real doubts about how anyone could add more efficiencies to a calendar app but this app really does it amazingly well. My favourite features are the ability to swipe and quickly navigate and pinpoint any date across years (!), the awesome QuickCal keyboard and the quick tasks feature when I just need to add something right away before it slips my mind. Great integration too, so I've converted to using to access my work calendar.

I love the visual design of Rooster, which reminds me of a paper Filofax agenda (I have been searching for an app that looks like this for a long time). It would be much more useful if I could take the tasks pinned to the top of the agenda and assign a time and date to them, creating a funnel system when I’m ready to schedule them. Hoping this functionality will be added soon. Another welcome addition would be integration with my favorite To Do List app, Wunderlist. All and all, a beautiful app. Thank you!
