App does not work

I’m a first time customer, and I have never left a review before in my life but dang I have to. I’ve heard a lot of good things about these earbuds and wanted to try them out too. So straight out of the box the NuraTrue Pro’s will not connect to nura . I’ve followed every suggestion, even trying different phones to no avail. The worst part is that these earbuds rely so heavily on nura . Meaning unless you set it up initially through nura , no music or other media can be played through the earbuds. This renders my over $300 purchase UNUSABLE. AND because this is a small kickstarter company, live support chat isn’t readily available. They say it exists but the option is not there. So the best way to reach them is through email. But they are so flooded with inquiries, that it will take a week or more to hear from them. Meanwhile your stuck with an over $300 paper weight for all that time. To the this app company, if you see this, please at least make the earbuds usable without nura out of the box, and then for the “best personalized experience” nura can then be used. Every other company does it this way. That way we can still use them in case nura has issues and it will hold us over until the issues have been resolved. Because you guys are small, you need to be more efficient.

Hating the new update

I use these headphones in my studio to track drums. I loved the passive isolation. With this update I hear a loud popping with or without ANC turned on. I’m currently tapping a fork against a jar and it is horrible. I wish there was a setting in nura to turn off the internal microphone. Simply turning off ANC isn’t sufficient, the popping from loud external transients is still happening. If you update this I will give you 5 stars. Thanks Dragan and team. I met you at NAMM 2018 and you changed my life. These cans do all that they say and more. I convinced some sound engineers to get them. They record and mix live bands. This G2 update renders the headphones useless for this application.

Scam Alert (Do not GET THESE)

Bought a set of this app Buds at a Electronic Store that was closing its doors. They where priced at $100 and was marked down to 65 so I bought them. I didn’t try them out for a couple weeks cause I wireless headphones at work so when I lose one or a set I got a back up pair. So when I unboxed them and tried to set them up it wanted me to download a app and I did made a account now it wants me to pay a subscription fee for headphones I bought at full prices. This is a scam business

Over ear and earbuds

I have had both the over the ear and the ear buds, the over the ear are awesome the earbuds are not comfortable but as for the company they are very helpful up until you want to return their product I have been asking for a return label for about 6-8 months now and all they say is we can’t send one you have to print one out .. I am not buying a printer just to print a label. Absurd.. and they keep charging me for them… so buyer beware they are friendly unless you want to return the product!!

Worst customer service ever.

So it may seem harsh to review an app or even a headphone based on its customer service - but that’s what happens when it gets that bad. The sound delivered was good. Not super and certainly not loud but good. I could enjoy it. But the tech associated with that sound is in need of serious help. Then the companies commitment to back up that product and customers experience should also be on par with the sound they have developed. It isn’t. My nuraloops were faulty - poor design (wire that fits around the back of the head constantly picks up noise. - the sensitivity of the ear piece (when it worked) was insane responsive (not in a good way) and experience (poor noise cancelling and amplified exterior sound - not good) - nura would forget profiles and the customer service behind it all was shockingly slow. It has taken months for a refund. With the state of the world being what it is I understand ... but this is going above and beyond to ignore customers. I can only assume they are inundated with issues. Just be cautious - it’s not all about the actual sound.

Whoever created the « deep sleep mode »

SHOULD GET FIRED!!! My this app model is older (had it for 3 years) and doesn’t always recognize being on my head/inside my ears. With the introduction of the « deep sleep » mode it started turning off RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of me listening to music or watching a movie. To turn it back on I have to TAKE THEM OFF AND RECONNECT THE BLUETOOTH. If you are honest about your product, please add the « deep sleep turn off/turn on » button. Other than that, the headphones are amazing.

P.S. I’ll change the review to 5 starts if you add that option.

Ear phones don’t work app doesn’t work

I’ve tried re downloading, resetting my phone, resetting the ear phones charging sending in complaints to no avail. This is a terrible experience for me I cannot get any further than testing my hearing. There has been nothing done to improve nura as far as make claims that you will improve nura and make the ear phone more useful. I was extremely excited for when the ear phones came in the mail and wanted to try out my personalized hearing and have told many people how cool it was until it didn’t work the first time, then the second, then the third etc. I’m giving them some time to work on it but I would not recommend to anyone else due to many trouble on both ends

No customer service

My this app Headphones took over two weeks to get to me. I was understanding that they’re shipping from Australia, so I wasn’t fussing about it. I just wanted my monthly pay date to reflect the 3rd of every month which is when I got them instead of the 16th, especially considering I already paid for a month that I essentially didn’t receive because it took so long to get to me. I emailed support and got a generic response saying they received my message. Well it’s been ANOTHER TWO WEEKS and they’ve successfully ignored me AND charged me on the 16th despite not having the headphones for half the time I paid for them. The headphones are fine, but the lack of customer support is irritating, I bet if I turn off my card they’ll email me that same morning asking for money.

Nice sound but clunky and painful

It’s a year or so into owning my nuraphones, I’m really disappointed in the high price point and wish there had been a trial period because I would have returned. Look, the sound technology and noise cancellation is amazing and I love being on the cutting edge of tech, but the headphones are really heavy and cause a lot of neck pain and painful pressure after a short amount of listening time — so much so that I can’t even use them anymore. I also wish there were sound sliders to adjust and tweak the profiles after they are created. I’m excited to see what models are released in the future and wonder if there will be a trade in value for older models that were the first design are in good condition. I found the size of the storage case massive, I travel a lot, I’m a photographer and have a lot of gear on me and there was no way I could even hang onto the case because it cannot even fit it in a carry on baggage if any kind. The packaging they arrived in was really not good for the environment either which really bummed me out.

No effort to improve

Being around since the beginning and seeing absolutely no change coming to the interface or quality of life improvements is disappointing. To access the highest quality of audio possible it requires an analog line, but the bells and whistles of the headphones completely deactivate without Bluetooth. Can’t change transparency mode with a line in as well.

Needs more profiles/Custom EQ

I have multiple profiles I use for different songs but their needs to be more you can save on nura , either or be able to tweak the EQ

Great headphones, meh app

The nuraloop is great, but the software update functionality needs to be overhauled. I managed to update my nuraloop once just fine, but every time after that nothing happens when I tap the update button. If they’re fully up to date that would be one thing, just add a dialog window saying “your nuraloop is up to date” or something like that. As it is now, it honestly feels like the update button is broken.

Love the product, app needs work

Just got my NuraLoop and I love them! Best sound quality for in ear headphones. nura however needs more work. Some of the layout could be optimized. The setting to change your headphones buttons is kinda hidden, maybe it should be tied to the user if you have multiple profiles. Looks like the design of nura wasn’t fully thought through.

Also feature request: please implement double tap to skip songs and triple tap to go to previous song. This would make a huge difference!

Massive accessibility issue during initial set up

I absolutely love the Nuraloops. The sound is unlike anything I’ve ever heard across the board. However, there was one massive problem during the initial set up. As a completely blind person, I use Voiceover, apples built-in screen reader to use my phone. While nura is accessible, since the headphones wouldn’t play any audio before my hearing was tested, I had to get cited help in order to both start the profile as well as update the software. Maybe there could be an update to nura that detects accessibility features and allows voiceover to momentarily pass through so that a blind person could complete the process through nura by themselves without needing sided help. This would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Offline profiles?

Since you have essentially sold your company to Denon. Does that mean that the this app app will be going offline essentially making the purchases of many to be a waste? Or will offline profiles finally be a thing? Or will a new Denon app take on the duties of nura so that the people that bought into this tech aren’t left with headphones that aren’t able to be fully utilized without an app? Because if not I could see this turning into a lawsuit from many who bought their headphones for this specific technology. I would like to think that this app would have put something in place to make sure that the customers that believed in their company wouldn’t be left without a way to keep loving and using their headphones the way they were intended for.

Pretty good but I have 2 problems

These are pretty good, nura is pretty simple, the sound quality is great but it has 2 problems, for some reason they keep going into deep sleep half way through my song or video, also it’s a bit painful to wear for about half an hour to a hour, but other than that they’re pretty great.

One problem

nura is great and the headphones blow anything else I’ve had out of the water. The sound quality is amazing and the bass is so awesome it was making my face shake. And the different features it comes with like social mode and what not is reason enough to get it. My only gripe with it I’ve had so far is that, at least for me, the headphones are very uncomfortable. The in ear part I feel is fine but I think they might just be a little to small for my ears. If they came out with a new version that accommodates for that I would probably only use the headphones pretty much ever, over all still a five star product and app.

Hearing Deficit: Lives Changed

My wife Beverly has had a hearing deficit since childhood. With the Nuraphones (and ONLY with the Nuraphones) she “loves to hear each individual instrument entering into a song”.

IMAGINE what that must be like - to fully experience the gift of music for the first time. It’s one thing to hear music BETTER, which all of us with “normal” hearing are fortunate to experience with the Nuraphones- but - what about musicians with hearing loss from overexposure to loud music? People with SSD (single/sided deafness)? People with tinnitus? (A friend with tinnitus at a party, who tried mine, said they were “life-changing.”) Could Nuraphones help treat tinnitus, or some forms of hearing impairments (in social mode?)

Imagine giving the gift of music to those who’ve never experienced it... could Nuraphones do that? THAT would set a company apart - are the folks at Nuraphone working with researchers? I hope so!!!

I know they’ve already changed two lives, when nothing else did!!!

My new favorite headphones

I just received my Nuraphones yesterday. While creating my profile and listening to the tests that the headphones conduct to identify your exclusive profile, I must admit that I was kind skeptical, but, after the tests were finished and listened to the finished product... WOW! Was I impressed. They are not reference monitors for making beats, but, they are definitely a game changer for listening to music. I’m an owner of Beats and my favorite headphones “Audio-Technica” and the Nuraphones hace just become my favorite headphones. Noise canceling on these are beyond belief. It did feel kind of weird how it sits in your ears at first, but, after a while you get used to them. If you are looking to buy a pair of solid headphones for everyday use while riding on the train, bus, at home or for whatever you use your headphones for, these are one of a kind. You won’t go wrong on these. They are a must buy! And the payment plans are actually good for those who don’t want to pay $400 at one shot (Well... well worth it).

Best headphones I’ve used!!

These headphones are top notch!! I am able to pick out pieces of a score so much easier now, Music sounds so much more magical than I thought it could. I love these headphones and I really love nura as well. I think a great add on would be to be able to check the battery status on these when they aren’t in use and maybe add functionality for a third customizable option for the touch sensitive area but other than that, these are seriously amazing. My roommate tried these and said these are how all headphones should sound!
