GoToMyPC - Remote Access Reviews

GoToMyPC is a bit sketchy when running on the iPad Pro with the recent Apple magic keyboard (the one that includes the trackpad). It does not recognize the trackpad very well within the emulated session and when it does, it often takes many clicks and is not very precise. In addition, GoToMyPC often crashes when I turn on the keyboard in GoToMyPC . My first thought is why do I need the onscreen keyboard? I have a case and trackpad right in front of me. However, GoToMyPC will not always recognize the keyboard and needs to have the emulated keyboard running as well, that is if you can activate it without the crash of GoToMyPC .

I have found the above behavior with a Windows 10 host as well as a Mac OS Catalina host. I have not tried GoToMyPC with another PC or mac as the remote connection so I cannot speak to that. However, I purchased the service for two machines ($80ish per month) with the hope of using the iPad and to operate the Windows and Mac machines without having to lug them with me. As it is right now, I am spending more time fighting issues than using the machines.

I did open a ticket on this and the agent said yes, it appears to be an issue with the Magic Keyboard w/Trackpad. He was going to escalate it and get back to me. But, no surprise, no one got back to me.

I am at the point of cancelling the this app service and looking for a VDI host instead.

When will you be updating for new OS? I can’t open app for several updates no saying it’s not compatible and needs to be updated. Please hurry, it’s been going on for like a year now and I’ve been a subscriber for years.

Versions of windows come and go. Connections between them become obsolete. Programs run in one version but not another.

this app endureth forever. Connections endure even with different operating systems. I can use my computer as if it was an app on my phone.

I hate to think what life would be without it. So many years now. So much convenience and peace of mind.

If I’m very very careful and watch I can get logged into my workstation. GoToMyPC repeats characters. Having this issue on 3 separate iPad Pro’s all with smart keyboards. I don’t know if there is an issue with compatibility with the keyboards, iOS 11, or what, but I can get right in on a laptop sitting right beside of the iPad with no issues at all. It is only GoToMyPC on the iPad. I haven’t tried the iPhone version. Put in a support ticket. Hopefully they will acknowledge this issue and get it fixed asap.

I have found this program to work virtually flawlessly. I can work on my own desktop virtually anywhere. The cost is far less than individual online versions of each program and is far more versatile

Usually App versions work much better than web versions, but with GoToMyPC I have found it to be the opposite. There is a very bad typing delay within GoToMyPC that I don’t experience anywhere else on my IPad. I’m using OS11, so it may be isolated to that. Since I use this primarily for work and emails I need to be able to move quickly through my emails, very unfortunate. Even still I tried to just use the web version and it makes me use GoToMyPC . Not happy with the sophistication of GoToMyPC, especially for a paid service.

I installed this app on my iMac hoping I could log in remotely. After about an hour I figured it out, pretty worthless. Worse however is that you can’t uninstall GoToMyPC . IF you are thinking about installing this on your mac you should look elsewhere. THey have an uninstall option that doesn’t work. They have a uninstaller tool that fails miserably.

Think perhaps you can uses SUDO to remove it? No luck. Personally these people should be run out of business for creating such garbage.

That about says it all. GoToMyPC has saved me hours of time fussing with iCloud, One Drive, DropBox, etc. Also helps me sleep better since I am not worrying about work tasks left undone, or which version of a file I was working on. I travel a lot and seriously, could not live without this app.

Since the Beta testing days, service tool app has always worked without fail. Although more appropriate for larger screens such as laptops, even on the small Mobile screens, it functions. The security aspects are also done well. Much thought and testing applied.

From a Linux-based browser, I get a message: Sorry, this machine operating system is unable to connect to “...”. Please try using Windows or Mac OS X.

This is inconsistent with the product claim to “Access your Mac or PC from Anywhere”. Is this false advertising?

From an iPad, it is very difficult to navigate through the windows menu. I am very disappointed with the undisclosed limitations and awkward navigation capabilities of this product.

I have been using GoToMyPC for many years
so I can do my paperwork at home while running my business. I really depend on it
also to check into my office computer to view our upcoming schedule and to write out client charts.

I can be at my desk from anywhere! It has saved me many times over through the many years I have been a customer! Nights, Holiday and weekends I would have missed with my family if I had not had this app. Thank you!!

Works great with notebooks, tablets, and smart phones. Virtually no delays, even when scrolling. Simply the best program for connecting to office computers and servers— even if the office computer has a double screen.

I have been using GoToMyPC for over 10 years the last few months on my iPhone when I login there is an option to tap to continue or tap to open app neither one will let me in error message says Internet connection seems to be off-line which is not the case

The interface is half baked at most. I have a Citrix mouse and Bluetooth keyboard. The on screen mouse never goes away. The on screen keyboard either stays on to cover the bottom of screen, or completely disappears disabling the keyboard input as well.

This is a terribly half baked app with unusable interface. It’s surprisingly expensive at $22 a month. I’m surprised anyone could make it work. I would not use it if not for the Citrix mouse input.

I love this app for remote work. Having a remote connection available during New England winters is a huge convenience for me. My iPad app is fine but sometimes typing or deleting characters is really slow. If I’m going to be online for a longer period of time, I use my laptop app it’s just too slow to accomplish anything is a reasonable amount of time.

Very dependable and good customer service, when needed.
I am miles away from the USA and this app keeps me "in touch" which is very important.

I use this application everyday. I even have used it from far distances. I have had issues but received service that did all they could. I like it

I use GoToMyPC almost daily no matter where I am, for both personal and business. Reliable, secure, efficient! Love it!

I have been a customer for years. I’ve only had to call once. It’s worth the money to know that I can call on the telephone if I need to.

this app was a great program, reasonably priced but logmein has lost so many customers to Googles free version that they are trying to make up the revenue by shafting the rest of us that have been using this app for years.

I knew things would not turn out well when logmein bought this app and they have gone to hell.

I have cancelled my subscription and will NEVER do business with logmein again.

Essential app for those who travel of need to access another pc from work. Or work PC from home. Very well done.
