The original app, as many have stated worked fine. The new updated version pretty much force you to watch ad after ad unless you subscribe. I get that they want people to watch ads or subscribe, as that’s where you make money, but not one after every three photos you look at! Run an ad when you open it and be done with it. To repeat, run one ad each time the user opens it and then leave them alone. It’s not like I’m gonna open it and spend hours before closing. Terrible. I am moving all photos and videos to a new app and deleting this. A previous reviewer had it perfectly correct, delete all of the old reviews from the original app version as SecretPhotoVault has nothing to do with the original version that worked perfectly!

UPDATE: Just finished removing my pics and vid’s from SecretPhotoVault. They made it to where you can only do it one pic at a time and make you watch a couple ads every 3-5 pics. Jokes on you, as I was happy to take the time to clean this out and throw SecretPhotoVault in the garbage. Self-inflicted!

I have used SecretPhotoVault for a while now almost a year and I kept many important photos and many passwords in here and other than the annoying ads, I liked it a lot. But today, I went in to SecretPhotoVault and there was a weird box thing that popped up that said error or something AND IT WIPED THE WHOLE APP I’ve lost tons of passwords and many pictures that were really important to me and I have no way of getting them back. I’m not even sure what happened but I don’t recommend SecretPhotoVault. I assume I probably put in too many photos or something not rlly sure but I will NEVER use SecretPhotoVault again and you shouldn’t either. If this didn’t happen maybe a 4 or 4.5 rating but unless you are planning on putting something of little value in here, I recommend using something else.

The new update has ruined SecretPhotoVault for me. Everything about the original calculator app has changed. The essence of the previous app design is now replaced with gimmicks. The original app was disguised as a calculator. Enter in the passcode and press “%.” Voila! You are in. No one would know that it’s an app of secret. With the new update, SecretPhotoVault basically broadcasts to anyone using your phone that IS an app of secrets. It leaves strangers wondering and questioning you. In addition, advertisements are now everywhere! “Click for the premium version!” or “Only $1.99 a month!” Sorry, but if this does not change soon then the creators of SecretPhotoVault will not be getting any money. I will be transferring my private photos elsewhere. Thanks but no thanks. There are better apps anyways.

Original app as a calculator in which you could hide/store items worked well. Then, a couple months in they changed it to, as other reviewers have said, an obvious hidden vault. NOW, when opening their app, it immediately went to a “ trial offer” full page blank blue screen which didn’t respond to opening, advancing or minimizing. So, essentially these developers locked your photos away from you and - I don’t know what the idea is ? Hold your photos hostage to your paying ? But it wouldn’t even offer the option of doing that. Only thing that could be done was delete SecretPhotoVault , which deletes your data/photos with it.

The previous versions of SecretPhotoVault was a definite 5 star because at that time, the only way to enter through is to enter the password and press “%”. Plus, the style of it is to make it look like it’s just a calculator and it’s not trying to hide anything. Now, it’s a simple passcode lock that will obviously mean to people that it’s trying to hide something. I was mad at that, but at least it still locked my private info, right? No. On the top right screen, there was a “Reset password?” option and when you click on it, you can enable Face ID to use that to change the password. If you didn’t know, I share this phone with my brother who looks somewhat similar to me. When either of us use Face ID, it’ll open. He doesn’t know what I’m trying to hide. If he finds SecretPhotoVault and resets the password, HE CAN GET IN. This made me furious. From a 5 star to a 2 star, you’re going to need to change SecretPhotoVault back to the way it was. You’re making us pay just to have it back? Come on, I thought you guys were the best. Everything nowadays is just money money money.

SecretPhotoVault was exactly what I was looking for when I downloaded it. I had all the information and files that I wanted in SecretPhotoVault , and then it updated and could not recognize my passcode because the Calculator portion was removed. The “reset password“ option was useless to me as I do not have facial recognition enabled on my phone. This “Update” successfully locked all of my information that I had previously saved and made it impossible for me to retrieve without fundamentally changing my security settings. Deleted this updated version and lost all of my information with it. Back to SecretPhotoVault Store for me to try to find another app that will do what SecretPhotoVault used to do. Not a fan :(

This “secret” photo vault is quite basic. If they can add the features I’ve suggested below, possibly as an advanced add on purchase, this photo vault could be the perfect solution for your private photos

PROs
Plausible deniability with calculator front. This is an excellent feature.

CONS
Photo management could use significant additional functionality:

- Import from camera roll is single selection. If you have lots of photos from camera roll it will take lots of time and is annoying.
Solution: Add a Select feature for multiple selection for import.

- Can’t move or copy between albums.
Solution: Provide move/copy/copy shortcut as the iPhone camera allows

- Can’t zoom in/out with standard finger gesture
Solution: Add zoom with gesture feature

- No built in or connect to photo editor.
Solution: Add photo editor that will also allow revert feature

- One icon size for photos
Solution: Add ability to go from smaller to larger from command or gesture

SecretPhotoVault is great for what it was made to do. However, there are a few small problems. First of all, deleting photos should not be so quick, in case you press the button by accident. SecretPhotoVault is made for keeping secret photos that are most likely not anywhere else on your phone, so it shouldn’t be so quick to delete them. Just an “Are you sure you want to delete this?” pop-up would be good, with the options “Delete” and “Cancel”. Also, I think you should be able to zoom in on photos. SecretPhotoVault was clearly designed for one main thing, and people usually tend to zoom in on photos when they’re doing that thing. I also think there should be a simple “Edit Album” mode. This would be convenient for moving photos to other albums, moving photos around in an album, etc. Overall, SecretPhotoVault does do what it was made to do correctly. 4/5

SecretPhotoVault is definitely worth getting, it hides all of your private stuff behind a functional calculator. I have one suggestion though. When I want to upload photos/videos from my camera roll to SecretPhotoVault I can only upload one at a time, and same thing when I’m uploading from SecretPhotoVault to my camera roll. This is frustrating and I hope the developer comes out with an update soon that allows multiple photo/video selection. Other than that one flaw, I think this is a great app so 4 stars.

sometimes when i wanna review the photos or videos there will be a play triangle in a circle over the screen, preventing me from viewing it. it will reset and be fine after i click the home button and restart SecretPhotoVault but it is quite annoying. idk if there’s a way to fix this but it would be greatly appreciated! but other than that, SecretPhotoVault is really great and smart way to hide pictures videos and passwords, and i have kept them hidden for a while now👍

Previous reviews put in the main problems but I have only one of my own concerns. If you are scrolling through photos. ( our family has the cloud and I use it mainly for Christmas and birthday shopping etc. ) I with there was a way to put photos right to the albums What I have been doing is taking a screen shot and then going to albums and bring it over then go to photos to delete it. Not sure how you could fix it but that is my own complaint

I think SecretPhotoVault is for you if your parents are very overprotective or they check your phone every week like mine and I deleted my original calculator because SecretPhotoVault helps you hide all kinds of things and you can also use it as a calculator another thing is if you delete you photos you can get it back so that is a very good thing about SecretPhotoVault and also if you got a few pictures of things😜 you can send them or receive them to whoever that Lucky person is

So far I’m completely satisfied with SecretPhotoVault! It does what it says it will do. I am impressed by the icon decal as it has went undetected by others so far. The fact that it is a totally functioning calculator is icing on the cake. I recently switched devices and everything transferred perfectly and nothing was lost. If you’re looking for an app to keep some things private on your device this is a perfect solution as it stores more than just passwords and photos. Great job developers!

This is a great app. I am really enjoying it so far because the calculator is a great idea! It works as a regular calculator as well and if you don’t like the calculator idea then you have the choice to change it in the settings. You can use google inside SecretPhotoVault and you can add contacts in SecretPhotoVault as well. Another thing I really enjoy is that you can make albums and add your choice of photos inside. Overall I would defiantly say this is a great app and I would recommend it.

I have a lot of private things that I don’t want my parents knowing about. It is very smart and reliable, especially being that my mom checks my phone every once in a while. I can browse privately, have private phone numbers and private photos. I can also use it for calculus hw and my parents will most likely never suspect something as smart as this.
