Notifications but nothing there

I keep getting notifications and yet there is nothing there. I was told it was because of using iOs (???!). Am I supposed to turn off my phone notifications?
I no longer check the notifications because of the lack of any thing there, so what is the point of having it?
Notifications work but app shows no content

Installed app four weeks ago and it worked for a week or two. Then (presumably after update) application shows noting in Events / Notifications / Communities. Apple push notifications still work and take you to the app, but nothing shows once you in the app
No screen

I liked this app when I got notice of it from my towns email I downloaded it immediately, loved knowing what was going on in my neighborhood, especially today, then I did the update and now there is nothing, just a blank screen. So just another app on my screen until they fix it
