Basic and Not Racially Inclusive

App has basic functions : weight, BMI and height. That’s it, no frills. But what truly annoyed me (and the reason I deleted the app) is how there were no avatars for POC. I mean, sure you can change the skin color on a white person but that’s not being racially inclusive. Avatar starts off as a white woman with the option to make her dark skin but same hair. Nothing changes except her skin color. LOL. It’s laughable. Why even put that as an option? Weird. Try diversifying your avatars if you’re trying to advertise and market the avatars as a unique feature.

I’m reading reviews from a year or even longer ago about the issue of the avatars. I see the developers response, but where is the change?? I am like medium sized at best and was just looking to lose like 10 more pounds and I have struggled with body image my entire life! This is disgusting that this body shaming thing is still an issue. The app is fine, but weight loss is already hard, no need to make it worse. You should be ashamed of yourself, and maybe this time, you could maybe actually change something.

This app works, however, I was extremely annoyed this morning when I logged my weight. As if weight loss isn’t frustrated enough, when I entered the 7lb weight loss I was proud of, my avatar changed to an extremely overweight girl shoving her face with a hamburger. This is not what you want to see when you’re proud of how hard you’ve worked. I would not recommend downloading this app if you’ve ever struggled with an eating disorder.
