I would like to use this product, but seldom do. First, there is no simple way to upload peer-reviewed publications or easily see which ones have been uploaded. My account remains woefully incomplete with no simple way to update it. I don’t have time to do this manually. It should be able to track my publications automatically, if I’ve authorised it, and include them in my bibliography. ResearchGate does not appear to facilitate finding my publications in anyway, let alone conference presentations etc and instructions on the website are absent. Second, there is no iPad app. The web page remains the most robust interface, but provides little guidance on how to use it, let alone link it to other accounts, like LinkedIn. Research related discussions are a great idea, however few of my colleagues appear to use this on a regular basis. If some of these limitations were addressed, it might facilitate uptake.

As an academic I have come to value the Research Gate (RG) platform - while using my computer at work. Consequently, I’m at a complete loss for words to describe how disappointed I was while using ResearchGate on my iPad. The experience was so bad I, ResearchGate was forgotten until this morning, and I can’t bring myself to use it anymore. How can the people associated with RG be involved with something this bad? You literally have access to an amazing pool of talent at your fingertips. My colleagues and I, along with my students, use tablets everyday. For the love of all things digital, please update and improve ResearchGate.

It asks me to login before viewing a document but I have forgotten my credentials so I tried to login via Facebook and it redirects to a blank page showing no login page or anything. If this is the case then how are we going to view documents redirected to ResearchGate? Where is the signup option for this app? Do we have to manually go to the website on a browser to signup again? Where is the convenience for us users? So since I amare inconvenienced by this how about I rate you 1 star which is very generous of me and you continue to deny me usage of ResearchGate . Thank you.

I‘m an iPad user. this app points to ResearchGate when I try to register. I downloaded it and it looks awful on iPad, because it‘s for iPhone only and doesn‘t allow horizontal view.
I don‘t even need this on iPad, I just needed to register on the website and download a PDF.

As a scientist, I often use research gate’s online platform to troubleshoot issues with my protocols. Many scientists these days use iPads for work. Not their phones. So not having ResearchGate optimized for larger displays is pretty disappointing. Please develop a version of ResearchGate that supports and takes advantage of the larger display. Especially with iPad OS around the corner. If inspiration is lacking, see how Slack does it. I’m giving 2 stars just for having ResearchGate in the first place. Will update upon seeing improvement

This is app lack features of desktop version. Like you can’t ask questions. Also there is no organized way like if someone wants to learn a topic all random question answers are there. They can have Quora style best answer also they have software glitch where some answers show up repeatedly. This is annoying that simple question you can’t ask through mobile app then what is it worth for. Removing app.

I find ResearchGate frustrating. I get email request messages on my phone from this app, but when I go to ResearchGate to answer these requests i find they are missing. The data in ResearchGate are out of date by a week or two. This makes it impossible for me to answer peoples requests from my phone. So I’m finding ResearchGate of little use for me, after my initial exploration.

I have been using this app for over a year but have been deeply disappointed in it lately. My recent search for articles has come up fruitless. I found 20+ articles which may have had information pertinent to my research, but most of these were available by request only. So I pressed the “request to read full article” button, but it’s been over a week and I have had only one response from an author who stated “he didn’t have access to his paper anymore”. Now; I’m not giving a low rating because of his response, I’m giving a low rating for the lack of response from the other 20+ requests.

I just wonder what value ResearchGate has if most of its articles are available upon request, and most of these requests are not responded too?

I recommend this app makes providing the full article mandatory when posting on their site because otherwise their site is useless. I mean as a scientist, why would you post to have written a paper without posting the paper itself. That’s not the name of the game here.

ResearchGate still lacks a lot more updates. Recommends on your answers cannot be seen adding question tool is not available. I wish they make a major update.

So far so good, but the question and answer function is a very important part of RG. We currently need to go to Settings, and then be transferred to a web browser version of RG for questions.

Please bring this into ResearchGate .

ResearchGate needs some work it is not compatible on all devices and looks awful on my I pad pro... please fix this I would really like to use ResearchGate on my devices

For some reason ResearchGate crashes more often than most apps I use. Otherwise it’s fine.

App is good but could use several improvements to make it more user friendly

1. Could use an iPad OS version that works in landscape mode compared to forgoing ResearchGate and just using a browser on the iPad to access the web site. Right now I think a browser is better on the iPad.

2. Addition of TouchID and FaceID login adds a little more security for those who feel login security is not necessary for such a specialized blog. If the people at this app feel extra security is not needed remember me at least makes it easier not to have to login continuously.

Maybe the people at Apple can assist in adding these new features if it’s felt ResearchGate should be improved rather than just using a browser

Much like certain romantic partners of my life, the this app app is absolutely flawless when it opens up and remains stable. As it stands, however, the latest iOS (14.3) sees the crash of ResearchGate on attempted opening. I have given many second chances. And I will still until the problem is fixed, because I know ResearchGate is great when up and running.

this app finally has an app! I love this! It’s very convenient to see new articles from the scientist I follow. I particularly like the easy access to my messages with its own tab. I also like that I cam easily access the research items I follow by tapping the tab on the upper right corner. Also very convenient to see my profile and stats. I can download papers and upload them to Drive or Dropbox.

HOWEVER, I would like to be able to search articles not just researchers using the search bar on top. Another feature that I’d like to have access to is the questions. It doesn’t seem to have a tab or a way to access them through ResearchGate . Being able to ask and answer questions on the go using ResearchGate would be great.

Looking forward to more updates and will continue to use it.

Really enjoy following new research untouched by media agendas. But my institution is not listed.

It’s a nice app that allows to read research articles on your phone. It would be great to have a dark mode option on the next update.

I love ResearchGate and service that offers connection with other researchers. iOS app is good and functional, but I would really love if you can make app for iPad OS - I think that will be really great. That way all iPad users could have full experience of this service.

I really like that I can do research and read scientific articles with ease on my smart phone, but the search feature in ResearchGate needs improvement. There is no way to filter results. Even something as simple as “most recent” for a filter would help find articles. Would love to see ResearchGate expand and grow to a more functional platform. Hopefully they can make some more improvements.

Also, it would be nice to simply “bookmark” an article instead of “following” it.

Researchers all through out the USA are wonderful. I highly recommend downloading this site.
