Ok, so I love this game..I really started enjoying it mostly because of LoveLink. But since they stopped texting me I just stopped using WhatsYourStory until today...I went on and continued the story I was doing (I wasn’t always there for LoveLink I still did stories 😅) so I did the “Exposed 𝒶𝒻𝓉ℯ𝓇 𝒹𝒶𝓇𝓀“ one. So I was back where I started..when I was getting ready for my date with Phoenix, so my friend helped me get ready and I could choose the “Sexy dress” and the “Cute dress.” I clicked the sexy dress because that’s the type of person I am..so me thinking the dress would be like 12 or 8 gems and I had 16, gems so I clicked it and it was 30 gems! For a dress I wouldn’t even wear for 2 minutes!!!! It honestly doesn’t even make sense to me of why it has to be that high. And could you make the LoveLink last longer or at least a way we could be able to text them instead of it being the other way around so it could keep the ball rolling. Plus, LoveLink is the only reason I kept playing! probably for others as well. But that’s all I gotta say..hopefully you could change these issues because I see a lot of people asking but you guys are still not doing anything about it. 🤨

This game has a lot of potential, but I’m not willing to constantly spend money to keep things interesting. I like that there are lots of options for character customization and that you can customize your love interest in a lot of the stories. I also like that you have the option of choosing if you want a make or female love interest. I don’t like that your character has no clothing options if you don’t spend gems or have a subscription. You character ends up being dressed completely wrong for the story and then they make you feel bad about the way you look. Also, the fact that you just have to skip over most of the story events if you don’t have a ton of gems is disappointing. I end up feeling like I’m just going through them to earn gems to unlock stuff in another story. You don’t earn anywhere near enough gems to enjoy all of the content, and $5 a week is ridiculous to unlock more outfits and unlimited tickets. Maybe if it was $5 a month, I’d be willing to spend the money on it but there aren’t even as many stories to play through as other apps like this. I really like the lovelink addition, but it’s frustrating when it costs 15+ gems to unblur the pictures in the chats and that conversations end abruptly. With a few changes, I’d gladly give WhatsYourStory a 5 star review but until then

This game is similar to other story games. But to me honestly seems like a “pay to play” game. You have a choice between the free version or the VIP version which basically just gives the choice between more diamonds (the in game currency) or less diamonds. You also have to watch two 30 second ads (generally) before you play any episode. The cost of the fun choices and things that would really make each story immersive cost usually 20+ diamonds. You also earn diamonds but not a rate at which you can enjoy the game. Overall it is a fun thing to play. Also like other story games there is a wait time to get “tickets”, which allow you to play the episodes. This to me is perfectly okay and I understand that. But overall the way the diamond system and such is set up, it’s really just a “pay to enjoy” type of game. But if you enjoy these games and want to immerse yourself in your favorite books/TV shows this the game for you. However, keep in mind that if want to customize or build your character through your choices, you’re going to have a tough time because of the high number of diamonds everything costs, which basically to me seems like your trying to force consumers into giving up their money. Fix these things and it would make the game more enjoyable and perhaps increase your ratings.

It seems like every update the game gets worse. I had high hopes after the last update where the amount of gems earned was improved but then this new update just made everything worse....worse than when the game first released.

The game is just so money hungry and can’t even back it up with good story telling. The stories are always forcing you into some love triangle or forcing your character to be with someone and it’s annoying, especially if you’re reading the character insert stories. They don’t let any of the characters grow on you enough for you to care because your character is too busy falling in love after first sight. Everything will feel forced because they’re making choices for you instead of letting your choices actually matter, especially compared to other interactive story games.

The gem prices are the choices can get ridiculous for literally NO REASON. You lose out on the story because the devs wanted to price one choice like “do you eavesdrop” at like 47 gems. Even worse, they clearly want you to pick the gem option and try to make you feel bad for not picking it. The fact that they charged you to edit your love interest in Secret Billionaire (something which should be free because WHY DO YOU NEED TO CHARGE FOR THAT?) just shows the terrible direction this game is going.

I just got back into using WhatsYourStory and I thought it would be fun, but I'm sad to say their are a lot of glitches, and I generally have a few issues with WhatsYourStory itself. I had high hopes for WhatsYourStory but it's just not the same, and I think it's messing with my experience. I was sad to see they took off a lot of stories like scream, I know what you did last summer, ghost busters, baywatch, Charmed, Charmed 2 and the CSI story. It leaves you with very few story options and it has become pretty boring. As for lovelink, your much better of using WhatsYourStory despite it being pricey at times. Eventually it will glitch when trying to use it on WhatsYourStory and they'll stop talking with you all together. It pains me to say it but it's not the best app to use anymore and I myself have started to realize that. WhatsYourStory has seriously gone under and needs some more work.

If you want a fun interactive app I'd definitely suggest using something else like episodes or choices, in which their isn't as many glitches and tones of fun options for interactive stories. I don't know about you but I definitely don't see myself using WhatsYourStory again after today. It's just lacking in the quality it used to have. And with each and each update it only gets worse. I'm very disappointed with the turn out of it!

This is honestly one of my favorite story games really. The characters all look really nice graphic-wise. Compared to others such as Episode, it’s way better. I love the personality indicator feature that shows you what your choices define you as. Maybe it’s just cause I’m a sucker for personality quizzes, but I just found it really cool. There were a few parts of WhatsYourStory I really didn’t like though. I absolutely hate how you have to spend gems on most of the big decisions. Like, why do I have to spend 20 gems to go into the woods with whoever? It just doesn’t make much sense. I also dislike how, in pretty much every story, there’s someone telling you “Gurl, your outfit looks like trash!” I get that you’re a business. You need to try and get people to buy gems and subscribe to your membership. However, it really makes the characters that are otherwise decent look shallow and pretentious. Finally, the writing could use a bit of work. It’s decent for the most part, but there are times when the dialogue is just really bland.

I’ve had WhatsYourStory for a long time and every now and then I try to play it once more wondering why I stopped. It’s got amazing stories from beloved shows, But I’m quickly reminded of why within the first two episodes of any of the stories. It’s because of all the apps similar to this one, this one is the most HEAVILY pay to play. Every story gives you the most god awful outfits to start out with and nothing you unlock along the way is free. Everything costs gems. Even the best options in game cost gems. Which makes playing not fun, and also a headache. I shouldn’t be asked to spend gems every other moment in the game, especially when I can only earn like two free gems here and there and all the stuff costs around 20 gems each. There is no possibly way to do this other than to pay for gems with real money, or play the most awful gameplay of all in which you are constantly having cooler things dangled in front of you that you cannot have. In a free app spending money should fee like an option to enhance gameplay, not like a requirement to get any enjoyment out of it at all. It makes players feel forced into purchases they might not be able to make, which in teen makes them feel bad, and makes the game simply not worth playing.

WhatsYourStory is a cool concept. As mentioned in other reviews, there are similar “choose your story” type games, but this one is unique in that it’s stories you know that you can now be a part of. However, I just think the game is overselling it’s “perks” the gems or diamonds that you use to buy the “good choices” are extremely expensive to buy with real money, and only allow you to make a few “good” choices within the game. If I buy $20 worth of gems on WhatsYourStory vs. $20 worth of gems on, say, choices- I will be able to make a lot more gem choices in that app for my money. The gem prices to make choices are just too high.
Also, I like the idea of becoming a member as an option for perks, but there are just not enough to make it worth it. All you get are 2 extra gems when you level up(which as I said before is hardly anything considering how much gem choices cost), special clothes which offer no perks, and “early access” to one story that is being offered as so.
Overall, I think I would really enjoy this game if everything wasn’t so out of proportion. The stories are alright but cool in the sense that you know of them beforehand, but it’s just not worth it to keep spending my money and getting practically nothing in return.

The story lines are okay. It’s annoying when you choose an answer though and then the character says something different than what you chose. It’s like it doesn’t even really matter what answer you choose, the game is designed to be played out a certain way, and it will play out that way regardless of your choices. And I refuse to literally pay more than $5+ PER ANSWER to pick a specialty answer. That is absolutely insane. Some answers are 64 GEMS, which you would have to buy the $15 pack just to have enough gems to answer that ONE question. By the time you would finish the story- you would have spent nearly $100. Who does that?! What makes this game worth that much? Also, stop acting like remaking your character every story is a good thing. It’s also a scam hidden as a benefit. You start off with these ugly clothes and then have to pay to wear something different even if you “won” those items from the game. And then if you go to a different story- you can’t wear any of those clothes you PAID for. So it’s a complete waste of money with zero investment. Why not just have the same character with the same wardrobe for every story that you can still edit and wear the clothes you have paid real money for, for every story. Basically, the game is a complete rip-off.

i don't care for the rest of WhatsYourStory because most of the stories aren't even out yet, which is another issue with WhatsYourStory. we can tell you want people to spend their money because at every turn there's an option to use gems to open stories or get early access. so anyway, the scream storyline is awful. it gives you the illusion of choices when everything is predetermined. Sam is not the man l want. shane's weird and unique from all the other boring characters, but the story keeps shoving him down my throat. there's a point in the story where he admits he likes you, and if you don't like him you can't even say no, there's on yes, maybe, and another sugarcoated yes. if you're going to make stories, don't force the reader to be with the person you want them to be. this is making me so angry that you pick a choice and it doesn't matter if you didn't want to do it, because you do it anyway. i didn't want to go to the funeral party, i didn't want to go and i don't have a reason to care for these characters, i'm just forced to be their friend. are there any other people there? are they the only people at that school? because a good writer could make multiple choices and actual differing outcomes depending on the choices. i don't like WhatsYourStory

At first WhatsYourStory was really fun! I loved creating my own character and experiencing the stories as the person i created. It was all fun and games until i chose to use the free VIP trial. After my trial was up, it automatically made me buy the one month subscription for it. I didn’t know this until I couldn’t update any of my apps or download ( free ) new ones. Since this happened, i went to cancel my subscription. It then proceed to tell me that there was an “FREE” VIP trial - One Month for 4.99 activated ( also that it would be canceled in March ). Does this mean the payment would be totally canceled as well? I don’t have any money in my account and I would hate to have to pay 5 dollars for something i didn’t know i purchased. Without the automatic free trial purchase, WhatsYourStory would have been amazing. I’m now afraid that i will have to pay five dollars just to be able to update my apps and download new ones. Is there any way this could be fixed? Was this problem caused by me or WhatsYourStory ? I tend to read though things carefully so if this is my fault, please let me know. I truly didn’t know this purchase of mine existed and i can’t afford to pay it off right now. Thank you. -a broke teen

There are a few other games similar to this one (Choices, Episodes, Lovestruck) and this is the worst one out of the three. Half the stories listed are “coming soon,” so there are very few available stories to choose from. The writing is pretty bad. I mean, Divergent and Scream seemed like they would be fun, but the writing makes it hard to really get into the story. It seems like they’re relying on name recognition to bring people in rather than crafting an actually good story.

The ticket system is the worst one out of all the games. The regeneration time is similar, but even if you have tickets you can only complete five chapters of a story at a time. After that, you have to wait 24 hours to continue playing that story. You can use your tickets on a different story while you’re waiting... but there are only three available stories to choose from (four if you subscribe to premium), so this seems like a really short-sighted decision because I’m already bored of WhatsYourStory . None of the other games have this absurd restriction.

Others have already complained about all the good decisions requiring gems, but sadly that seems to be par for the course with these games.

I started playing this game a few weeks ago and thought it was okay. But the more I play the more annoying it gets. Everything costs gems, that’s not even a reasonable price per option and are too expensive for purchase. You get 55 gems for 5 dollars which is ridiculous because majority of the options cost 54. It’s kind of ridiculous that choosing an option that will better the story costs gems which no one will purchase every time it comes up, so your stuck with a choice that makes your character seem like an insensitive jerk. You would think that the VIP option would at least open up some of these options- it really does nothing I didn’t even receive the 50 gems it promised once going VIP. The better clothing options costing gems makes sense. It really just seems like the makers are just money hungry and doesn’t care about the overall enjoyment of their buyers playing. I feel like even if I had to watch ads before playing an episode/part I’d be okay if the gems for storyline options were free. I hope something changes with WhatsYourStory soon because buying gems to better the storyline is ridiculous especially at these prices.

It’s nice to play, but the story chapters in my opinion are very long, and there are a LOT of ads. Like A LOT. The art style is cool and such. I think that the diamonds are really annoying. We get diamonds when we get achievements in stories, but you only get 1-2. And the VIPs only get 3-4, so really if you want to progress in the game quicker, you have to pay actual money, and I feel like we should be able to not have as many ads in between chapters and stories, and instead make the ads optional, and give some free diamonds after. Another thing I wish would be changed, is that we could sign in with google. Some people don’t have Facebook, or are not allowed to have Facebook. Some just can’t even handle it. I personally am not allowed to have Facebook at all, so it’s impossible for me to have an account. I don’t know the full possibilities of what would happen if i was able to actually have an account, but I think that we should be able to create our own stories. If that’s already an aspect of WhatsYourStory , I wouldn’t know because I can’t access it because I don’t have Facebook. Please fix this.

WhatsYourStory is great. I love the way the characters look and the way they are drawn which is not like any of the others you have seen out there. With the characters you have a choice to make them the way you want them to look there’s clothes and hairstyles however they don’t transfer from
story to story. The clothes you buy can be used only for that story which in my opinion makes buying them kind of useless considering the fact that they cost diamonds and are expensive making them not worth buying. The stories are good too, so far I have read only 3 exposed, royal embrace, and project runway. There a lot of options and choices but as you go further into the story they get even more expensive which to me I believe isn’t fair because diamonds are hard to come buy in the story. I’ve seen choices where 49+ diamonds are required which is not fair because as I said they are hard to come by.
