Doesn’t reliably connect
2022-05-28
by TomT99
Bose has problems connecting through Bluetooth to the ear phones. I don’t understand why it is so difficult. I can be playing music through the earphones and then try to connect the this app hear app and it won’t connect. Now, why is that? If the music app can connect, then why can’t the this app hear app connect? Can’t the this app Hear app just look at what the music app is doing and then use that channel? It is annoying when I am listening to music through the earphones from the iPhone and then the this app hear app tells me to make sure that the earphones are turned on.
Also, sometimes it just won’t connect at all. The music app can’t find the earphones and neither can the this app Hear app. So I tell the iPhone to forget the this app Hear app and then try to pair. Often, that does not work either. And so what I have to do is delete the this app Hear app and then reinstall it. So far, that has always worked. But, it is an annoying five minute delay to whatever I am doing. I have to do this about once every month or two.
Love/Hate relationship

They defiantly work for hearing enhancement, I just can’t seem to get over constantly trying to adjust them for differing conditions. Bose is slow to respond to hook up and sometimes won’t , yet my phone says they are connected, frustrating when your having trouble hearing and can’t immediately adjust the controls. Never like something in my ears but these are tolerable and getting better. Battery life could be a little longer, won’t last all day. I am going to call support to see if they can help me fine tune these things. Not very wearable on a boat as wind noise is an issue. I’m 50/50 right now about keeping them.
SoundControl Hearing Aid Disappointment
2022-07-30
by KBKinfinity
I’ve owned this app Hearphones since they came out, and I bought them for my son, also. I’ve recommended them to my friends and several have bought them. The work amazingly well, especially for the price. The ability to narrow the audio field in a noisy environment makes a big difference.
So, I was excited when this app received FDA approval for OTC hearing aids. Finally, we are going to get useful features, like compression and a graphic equalizer. But, the debut has been delayed for over a year.
Now, the SoundControl aids are in limited availability. What a disappointment!! They are just hearing amplifiers, of the kind you can buy for $150 each. Or less. They don’t stream music or phone calls. They don’t have the narrowest focus setting of the HearPhones, only front and “everywhere”. They apparently don’t have compression. They don’t claim echo cancellation or multiple programs for different acoustic situations. (The specs are very brief.)
Not only that, but this app discontinued the HearPhones a year ago.
So, in my opinion, this app is just ripping off the old people again, like everyone else. Apparently the hearing aid cartel made a deal. Again.
I really wish Apple would enter this market. They have all the necessary technology. It’s a big opportunity, if only someone had the determination to break the cartel. Fat chance, it seems.
Nice to hear again!

I’ve had my this app hearphones for about a month and really am quite satisfied. So many instances where I feel like I’m part of life again, like sitting in the back seat and being involved in conversations, enjoying TV at a normal volume and being able to hear when taking a call to list a few. I like how I can adjust the settings to my personal needs depending on my environment.
My only issue was when I went from an iPhone 7 to the 10 Xr and the new phone would not recognize Bose . Customer support helped me to perform a system update and once I deleted Bose and reinstalled, I was back up and running. (Hold time was inordinately long, but the support was great.)
My plan is to use the hearphones at least until 2020 when hearing aid sales will be deregulated. At that time I am betting (hoping) this app will have a traditional hearing aid developed at a fraction of the $5000 cost of the best ones today!
I have tinnitus and am a hearing aid user. These headphones are better than the hearing aids by far. Bose can be a little finicky at times. Sometimes, even though it’s been connected several times, it asks you to pair it. Then you have to delete it from your phone and start over. Then, randomly, you may have to do that again the next time you connect. Connecting to a new MacBook Pro was a real hassle. Took like 7 or 8 attempts after clearing Bluetooth device list in headset. I’m still learning but I wish there was a way to turn down world volume but turn up a targeted volume, like conversation or TV. Well worth the investment so far. TV mode is awesome
They Work (Could Be Better)
2022-11-02
by Lauxie
The best thing is they work. I can hear conversations well and don’t have to have people repeat themselves over and over.
They are a little tinny, however, that and when I talk, my voice is amplified, which makes me think I’m loud.
The headphones are this app quality, so for music or talking of the phone, they are very nice. But in conversation, the sound quality is harsh.
High pitched noises are sharp and could be toned down. There is a tone control, but when I move the tone to add more bass, it becomes hard to hear people with high voices.
Overall I like them, but at the same time, there is a lot of room for improvement.
-
As a follow up, I wasn’t able to keep them. Conversations were very difficult and I could not get over the way I sounded. My voice was loud and I was unable to get over that. Also, I found myself getting dizzy when I was using them, like my balance was off.
After two days I took them back. I wanted them to work for me, but never was able to adjust to them.

I can hear again my daughter doesn’t have to yell for me to hear her is give 5 stars the only reason and I truly mean it I wish there was an Apple Watch app. All I want Bose to do is change my preset settings I already have saved in my iPhone app so I don’t need to pull my iPhone out every time I need to change a pre-saved setting. I’d like to get out of my car and go from driving Mode to tv , movie theater, live theater ext.. all without have to pull out my iPhone
Does work with Bose Soundsport headphones

by Jnier19
A message notified me I should get Bose when I first connected my this app Soundsport headphones. While Bose recognizes and even displays a photo of my headphones, it tells me to connect them to my phone through a second app. I’ve downloaded Bose and connected my headphones yet still, Bose refuses to recognize that they’re connected. Overall a frustrating and time-consuming waste of time. I expected more from this app.

My 96 yo Mom has had the most expensive hearing aides and got a new pair every two years for last 15-20 years. She always complained about moving from one environment to another how difficult it was to get them adjusted. These headphones have been a godsend. She can hear tv and conversation much better. I would highly recommend them. Just know when you purchase they need to be paired with a smartphone.
It the best way to spend that amount of money, i use it to decrease the noise of newyork subway, and useless surrounding noises in order to enjoy more calmness, the sound is good and bass is deep, but this is not everything, the technology in it is highly unusual, in way of filtering of audible human voices by specific augmentation. It feels sophisticated enough to be worn everywhere, low profile and soon you will forget it is on you. I dont know much about sound engineering, but i cant feel it is well balanced. Good for this app
Bose SoundControl Hearing Aids

This is my first hearing aid so nothing to compare this to. It was easy to set up and and even though I wear glasses, the hearing aid body fit behind the ear with no problems. I downloaded the this app Hear app and then paired the hearing aids to my iPhone. I like the ability to customize the sound to your environment. Just received them this afternoon, but so far I like them. I can hear the tv without having to turn the tv volume up. My wife appreciates that.

These are fantastic I lost a hearing aid and picked these up until they get here and fitted. The amplified voice and the controls that allow you to hear in your comfort zone is better than my aids. I paid over 5thousand for my aids I am considered to have moderate hearing loss. These are just what I needed. There are some design challenges but nothing compared to not being able to hear clearly and crisply. I’d recommend these to all. If they come out with an improved version I’ll be the first to grab a set. K. C. San Diego Ca.
Changing my life for the good

I just had a 20 min dialogue with my wife in our living room and for the first time in a number of years I could hear every word she said. And I was not asking her to repeat things. She also says that the volume of my voice has gone down to normal levels vs being overpowering.
I had a similar experience last night in a noisy restaurant and the night before at a talkative dinner session with close friends.
Amazing! Thank you.

I have had them for just over a week and love them. Using the medium ear pads they are so comfortable I forget they are in my ears. Sound quality is great, and has really improve my ability to hear conversations that I normally would not even know were happing around me. I can keep the TV at a really low level and still hear everything fine, I have even turned off close captioning and finally have a full view of my programs now. Recommend not going above a 50 volume wise as at that point any sudden loud sounds are very loud.
You need to update Bose to fit the new iPhone XS max phone. It does not integrate seamlessly as it did with previous versions of the iPhone. Bose is outstanding it works extremely well to improve my hearing and I can’t enjoy the music. Unfortunately it is frustrating to try to pair Bose to the new iPhone XS Max iphone. would highly recommend this application and this headset for anyone who has minor hearing loss. I have no trouble with wearing it in public especially if I explain upfront that it helps my hearing. I’ve had no negative reaction to me wearing the headset in public.

Patience pays off. I’m into my second week and the first days were a challenge. It’s worth it! Tech support helped, as did being willing to do some extended trial and error work. I wanted to be in control. And I’m getting there. this app IS an enabler! And that’s a good thing. If you want out of the box. It probably doesn’t exist, since everyone’s needs and expectations are different. Working with the quite flexible and responsive interface I’m hearing better than I have in some time. And better than I could reasonably expect from this relatively economical solution. Trust this app? Now, I do. Thank’s this app!

Ok- saw the special on CBS Sunday Morning and knew I needed this for our 85 year old mom who sets the sound bar on the TV to stun. It is amazing. I wore it for the first night to get use to the controls so I could set it up for her because I knew she would deny she needed it. What I found out, I wanted one. I listened to music and found that I could hear EVERY LYRIC. Amazing. So I took it w me to the Keith Urban concert and was elated w my great sound and poor seats. Believe me, the Staples Center is not know for the sound quality. It is no Hollywood Bowl. So my mom is using them and the family is no longer hostage to the TV but I may have to get my own!!!
Excellent!

For me, Hearphones are great! I have almost no hearing in my left ear and reduced hearing in my right. I drive people crazy asking them to repeat themselves. I have to play the TV too loud for everyone. In restaurants and other public settings, I can't hear most conversations. With Hearphones all these issues go away. Using the iPhone Hearphones app, I can tune the Hearphones to the environment I am in.
A surprise feature for me was the ability of the Hearphones to function as high quality headphones for my iPhone. When I get a call on my iPhone and I am wearing my Hearphones, the call rings in the Hearphones. When I play music on my iPhone the music plays through the Hearphones.
Better than my hearing aid

The this app Hearphones are by far the best hearing device that I have ever used. The range and sound pattern, particularly in public areas, is so much easier to manipulate than my very expensive hearing aids. What’s more, they are also the best sounding music earbuds that I have ever used. Have you ever tried listening to streaming music from an iPhone using hearing aid software? Don’t, the quality is horrible. The only advantage that most expensive hearing aids have over the Hearphones is their size. Hearphones look just like QuietControl 30s in your ears, but so what?? All my friends already know I have a hearing problem, so who am I kidding? Why spend 1,000’s of dollars to wear “invisible” hearing aids, which sound horrible when you try to play music or take a phone call, and aren’t really fooling anybody anyway?
Having been using this product for just 2 days I have noticed that I can use them for more situations than I originally had hoped for. They behave very similar to a pair of trial hearing aids I tried a couple of years ago (they were more than 10X the price). This this app product has more capabilities. I can listen to music or podcasts or stream whatever while still hearing what’s around me to whatever extent I choose to tune it out with precise control. Easy decision to buy. Return policy is very friendly. It’s a no brainer. I already know I’m keeping them.
