Beware

They offer a free trial, but clicking the unsubscribe button in pliability doesn’t unsubscribe you. So if you don’t like pliability and don’t want it you might think you took care of it but haven’t. I wonder how many people haven’t noticed that they still get charged? Then they give the excuse that most app won’t let you unsubscribe from pliability and have to go to the website. Well that’s fine, but don’t give the option to unsubscribe in pliability . Seems pretty shady to me.

Baseball players, this app is not for you

I was excited at first to try pliability out as I am a college baseball pitcher in need of some mobility work and an organized routine. However once I activated my free trial I was very disappointed to see that each video only has static stretching where you hold a certain stretch for 2-4 mins. I don’t understand how pliability can promise an increase in range of motion when there is absolutely no dynamic stretches in the videos. I have done extensive research in what a pitcher needs mobility wise to optimize there range of motion in their pitching mechanics and the key component is dynamic stretches where you are not holding a stretch but working deeper into a stretch through a dynamic movement. Sure static stretches will increase your flexibility, however it is not the best option to optimize range of motion or mobility. If you want a great mobility app, skill yoga is the way to go. pliability is a fraction of the cost, and builds a program based on what sport or level of difficulty you want to start with. But most importantly it mixes DYNAMIC stretches in with static stretching!

Improvements Needed

I’ve had pliability for a couple of years. Really liked it at first, but lately it’s been buggy (e.g., I currently can’t access any of my favorite workouts because pliability shuts down as soon as I select the workout); the search engine is completely worthless (seriously, if I search for an exact title, that should be the FIRST workout that appears, not a random workout that happens to contain one of the search words somewhere in the description - often, if the title is generic enough, I’ll get 50 results and none of them are the workout I’m looking for); and the workouts are redundant (literally, some of the older “named” workouts are EXACTLY duplicated in some of the newer workouts, where the title started with a date). Finally, it would be nice if there was a better mix of movements in each workout / more “full body” workouts. Having 5 “leg day” - oriented workouts in a single week is ridiculous. Upper body needs way more attention. Overall, for the subscription price, I expect better.

Great content, but app needs some love

The good: The content is great, especially the more recent routines. So no complaints there, if you’re consistent - as with anything, you’ll see results. This has helped me with my lower back pain (herniated disc).

The not so good: the navigation experience is okay, the filters aren’t refined enough. I’ve actually been using pliability since January, but it’s only showing me as a subscriber since November, so one of the recent updates messed something up. None of my activity is showing since January - but that was already a problem. Even after I would immediately finish a routine, the activity wouldn’t show me having completed anything for that day. More recently, I have to sign in every day I use pliability , which is annoying. And as some other reviewers have noted, many of the routines aren’t loading, I have to kill pliability several times before the routine plays. Last thing, a big miss on not having apple health integration.

I like that’s there’s an activity section, helps me keep track and keep myself accountable… except that it doesn’t work

For starters when it does record activity it places it on the next, an obvious time zone issue because I do my routines at night.

pliability also crashes sometimes in full screen mode with no option other than to force close

There should also be visual cues instead of audio only, not just for hearing impaired but also because some might like to listen to something other than the stock music and volume cannot be controlled independently

For a monthly subscription service, there needs to be working existing functionality and some innovation

Awesome app, recent updates require fixing

I’m train in Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting and I use pliability on a daily basis for years now, it is truly a one of a kind resource for improving mobility and recovering.
The recent updates have unfortunately rendered pliability unusable, the video just freezes every time I use it and I need to restart pliability . I’ve been using the website instead. Hoping this would be fixed soon 🤞🤞

App Issues

pliability is not working properly right now. I don’t know if it’s the software not being compatible with the new iPhone, but I’m unable to pull up the routines and none of my paths are synced to pliability . I’m able to access the workouts through Safari. It’s been like this for a couple weeks now.

Great for flexibility but the music is bad

I can say that after more than a month of using this program I have increased my mobility and flexibility. However, the developer really needs to do something about the music played in the background. The music should be providing a sense of relaxation, but instead does the opposite, creates anxiety.

Great programming, horrible update

Update 6/3/21: latest update is much better. It looks like they’ve re-recorded the WODs and the host talks a lot less in these new ones (a much welcomed change), though some of the warrior 45 minute routines still feature the host talking too much. Overall though, my lifting has benefitted greatly from this program. My squat is much improved due to better ankle mobility. I’ve used pliability almost daily for over a year and I will continue to use it.

Loved the previous version of pliability . Used to be able to see a calendar of routines and could cycle back if you missed a day, or go forward if you wanted to do a double program. They’ve gotten rid of this function with the update and I don’t really know why. Also, app is pretty buggy, crashes often. I will say my ROM, squat depth, and overall soreness have improved dramatically in the three months I’ve been using the programming. Basically, I really enjoy the program but am frustrated with pliability .

Resubscribe glitch

I was looking forward to renewing my subscription but when I did, the renewal didn’t go through. My profile shows that I am subscribed, but I can not go in through pliability . I tried going through the website, but it wants me to re-purchase it again. I want to use it, but with this much glitching, I may go elsewhere for mobility help.

Great Routine

I love this program, I’m not a CrossFiter but I do work out and play sports and this is the only stretching routine I can stick with. I love the length of the videos and the length of the poses. My flexibility was nonexistent before I started and after a few months of doing the program I could see a huge difference. I’m a pretty average person, you do not have to be a crazy athlete to use this program and to enjoy the benefits of stretching.

Great app for improving flexibility

I love pliability, and it just got better. The new (beta) mobility assessment is a excellent for figuring out where you need to focus. The WOD is a must, but then you can add “paths” to focus on specific areas. I like the vocal guidance provided and the focus on breathing. Very calming. And if you want to make it even better, make sure to get one of the ROMWOD mats. It has perfect padding and is large enough to do all the movements without falling off it.

I’m not a crossfitter. I’m a moderately consistent gym-goer who also has a very physical day job. I love Romwod stretching routines both after a gym workout, as well as a nice way to start or end my day. The long duration static poses help clear my mind and focus on my body.

1 day in and I’m so impressed!!! This blows everything and anything I’ve ever done for mobility out of the water! The subscription is totally worth it and as an athlete completely necessary. I’m so embarrassed I have not been doing this before. After injuring myself while training I decided to take my mobility more seriously and came across pliability. Best decision I could have ever made for my physical heath, mental well being, and fitness future. pliability is a fitness staple!

I love that the stretches are so simple. There are only about 4-5 stretches per workout but they elate each held for several minutes. My body always feels much more positively affected when I hold these stretches for a mere 20 min vs an entire yoga class

Consistent RomWod practice = Better life

I practice CrossFit. I’ve been doing Romwod consistently for more than 5 year by now and I definitely relate it to my general body health. When your working schedule is rough and you take RomWod off for like 2-3 weeks you feel more pain, your body moves worse and you can totally feel your training is weak/limited.

Personally, I get as physical benefits as many mind beneficials.

I will never stop this :) ❤️

Inner Energy Flowing Again

Within just a few days of starting the program I could feel the energy flowing through me more freely, which in turn help me to feel better overall. I absolutely love this the program and I feel stronger and healthier every day that I do it.
It has become part of my daily meditations and I absolutely love the sleep pathway, it has really helped improve how much I sleep and how well I sleep.

Super Glitchy but good content when it work.

Needs app technical support badly. Constant glitches like video won’t play if you pause in the middle so you have to force quit and fast forward to your spot. Also, now, pliability insists update required to work but doesn’t provide a means for an update. Otherwise I like the content.
