Can’t get live news casts with voiceover on iPhone

I am totally blind so I use VoiceOver to interact with my iPhone. Unfortunately, like mini television station apps, The live video will not play using voice over. If it is tapped on, a Stream schedule as shown but, nothing else. This makes it impossible for anyone who is blind and owns an iPhone to keep up with the news using this app.
