On three separate occasions I have had near misses and been glad to have a dashcam as an impartial witness. On all three of those occasions the dashcam proved to be completely worthless. For the first it was inexplicably not recording. For the second the video was corrupted and I had to give on on repairing it after several days and no help from customer service. The third incident VAVADash was glitching out and refusing to connect to the cam after hours of troubleshooting. You can ONLY get videos through VAVADash . Can’t download or preview anything because the camera won’t stop recording. I bought this for peace of mind but it has instead become a nightmare. Buy something else.

The dash cam decided to stop recording right when I was about to hit the other driver!!! Luckily you could tell when it was about to happen and it shows the other driver’s fault. The audio also helped too, I was able to get JUST A SECOND of me honking my horn and my tries screeching!!
This isn’t the first time too!!! I saw the reviews about the dashcam randomly deciding to stop recording but I decided to give it a shot. But before this, I was able to avoid someone hitting me from the side. Got to the place I was heading to, checked the video and IT STOPPED RECORDING BEFORE THE NEAR MISS!!! LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS!!! DONT BUY THIS DASHCAM! IM DEFINITELY SWITCHING TO A MORE RELIABLE COMPANY! 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️👎👎👎

I was minding my business ! 2 guys come up to me saying they need my insurance information. If not they will call the cops. I don’t know what’s going on but I get the feeling they think I hit there car in a small drive way I never been in my life ! So I called the cops ! Thanks to this VAVA I WAS ABLE TO SHOW THE COPS ALL I DID THAT DAY WITH TIME DATE AND CLEAR IMAGES OF WEAR I WAS WHEN HIS CAR WAS SUPPOSEDLY HIT BY MY CAR ! I try to reason with him saying they’re was a car there that looks like mike but older model. He wasn’t hearing nothing he was yelling it was me ! Cops proved it was not me 100% ! If I did not have this dash cam ? It would be hear say !!! SO THIS HELPS WHEN COPS LIE SAYING I DID NOT HAVE MY SEATBELT AND WHEN THERE BEING RECORDED THEY ACK MORE PROFESSIONAL!!!! It pays itself.

This one, like the others, does not record anything. All the lights are properly lit. The display shows what’s in front of it, but nothing records - no photos no video. I get a message telling me that i “need to sync the media gallery” - anyone know what that is or how to do it? Me neither! To be clear, just to double-double-double-check- I bought a third SD card as well. I’ve formatted, re-formatted and reset multiple times of each of the three identically non-working cameras, and now VAVA wants my opinion. There you have it. I’ve wasted countless hours, effort and money all to no suitable solution. I’m now looking for an alternative that actually functions.

It’s a waste of time and money. You can’t rely on the footage because some of the clips are not getting recorded even after doing all the troubleshooting like formatting, resetting, uninstall and reinstall VAVADash etc. Also on top of that, footages which has been recorded successfully can’t be open sometimes in your computer and it will give you error message. So if you are looking for particular video and there is a possibility it hasn’t been recorded or even if it’s recorded, you can’t open the file and will give you error message. Don’t buy it please. I will recommend Garmin Alexa Speak by spending $50 more but it’s worth it.

VAVADash is highly problematic. Loop videos are difficult to find because the UI is not intuitive. I have privacy concerns because VAVADash now requires your location data, even though the camera is supposed to have GPS on it. Plus I turned audio recording off, but it was recording my audio, which I found out only when I found the loop recordings buried in VAVADash . The camera also has trouble recognizing a 256 GB Sandisk card and I had to downgrade to 128 GB.

It’s a shame, because when the camera works, it’s the best dashboard camera I’ve ever had.

This used to be so good I loved this dash cam but now VAVADash is definitely having issues with connecting to the camera and I’m unable to connect without having to try several times and gaveling to restart my phone the camera the WiFi and everything and if I get lucky then it’ll connect something is up with VAVADash and it’s definitely not as reassuring when I’m driving and if I get in an accident I have to pray for the phone app to connect to the camera

There is no way to call or chat to get an answer, you have to send email and wait till the next day for an answer and then it is useless. I have been trying to see how to change the speed from kmph to mph and went through every menu page not to find it. I wrote to customer service and the next day then sent me a screen shot of a page to change it that does not exist. I wrote back and gave the device and app version and said I could not find it and the next day again the answer was you have to connect the phone and camera. The reply grammar was as bad as the answer. This one is going back.

When I first got the camera it was great. I have the dual dash cam and the quality after downloading was great. There was a time where anytime I wanted to connect I had to reset the camera and forget the WiFi on my phone. Now I’m having an issue where it will connect to the WiFi but when I goto the camera in VAVADash it’s says connected, loads to show the preview, and then pops up saying disconnected. I go through the resetting process on my phone and camera only for it to say the same thing. This camera is great....if it worked 100% of the time. Mine is useless now since it never connects.

I’ve had no problems with the camera. VAVADash however, has been a nightmare. It is constantly resetting my settings. The wi-fi password I save will eventually go back to the default password. Same with the name. The loop recording time constantly switches back to 1 minute when I set it to 3 minutes. It’s very frustrating to say the least. I’ve stayed signed in on VAVADash , so I don’t understand why I keep having this issue.

Thank you for fixing the iOS 13 glitch! But you guys really really need to add an iOS car play app for this so that we can use the screen in the car for both the camera views rather then the phone. It’s would be awesome! Thank you

I really love this dash cam compared to my old one rove 4k, it connects to wifi automatically when you’re in the car the only thing about my old cam that i like about is that you don’t have to download if you preview a video unless you’re saving it in your phone, unlike vava dash u have to download every single video before u can preview it. I just wish they can make an update of that because it takes time to download every video just to get the exact file you’re wanting to view.

The camera and app interface is smooth and easy to use. The picture quality is amazing, I’m actually jealous that is better than my phone camera... the only problem I had was I wish you could access the camera and app from the computer in my office it’s mobile access only.

Should include more cable clips on dual dash cam orders. They do come in handy but I was short on the par cables so had to stop at Walmart buy a few more. Camara works great tho the snap shot button provided is not working. I’ll change the battery and see if it fixes the problem. Thou it’s never been used so why sent it with a dead battery.

I am using the latest app version. I am impressive about the filter, you can edit the snapshots on your phone and share them on the social media immediately. I also notice that the resolution of the footage is very high. I love traveling a lot, and a lot of images taken from dash cam is much better than the ones taken from my phone.

I really enjoy this cam, it advertised as it say, alway on and since I have a cigarette socket that alway stay on, perfect for my dash cam to stay on after the car been turned off... it recorded all night and day and u can change setting for camera, and so easy to share it online social media, I used it for my rideshare Incase something happen there will be no disputes with the video. I got the 128 gb memory card for the camera and vava cam format itself and shoot! easy breezy... it can be reviewed 12-18hours ago unless u saved it... then the WiFi thing was confusing at first but now I realized now it meant for your phone WiFi to hook connect it to WiFi on the vava cam, after I figure it out, I am able to take picture, video, turn it around for front traffic or back for rideshare depending on my day it really come in handy... just order gps Bluetooth, hopefully I can take quicker picture/video with the button and gps stamp it... excellent for catching unexpected moment... I’m happy...

**UPDATE
Its working again!! IOS 13.1.3 seems to have fixed the issue!!

Camera is unable to connect after IOS13 was installed. Deleted app and re-installed, now it shows “Firmware version is too old. Please Update” I then select “Update” then i says “Failed to obtain upgrade information. Please verify network connection” Its been a very reliable dash cam, however this isn't helping. Sure hope an update is made!!

This is my second unit, first one failed, ( replaced free from VaVa) tried using regular micro SD cards it has failed three times, finally splashed out, purchased a micro SDTF card I format it to fat 32 as it is only a 64 gig and so far no issues with pictures or recording or sound I am really pleased so far with this camera I want to purchase a second one for another vehicle in the family but cannot figure out how to separate the two cameras if I choose to drive another vehicle but so far so good thank you this is a much better camera than a Goluk T2 I previously used

Received as a thoughtful gift from my son and daughter-in-law. I had it professionally hardwired for a clean install and also for not having to remember to plug in. I’ve had it for a year and a half with zero problems. I love how it interfaces with my iPhone and how easy it is to edit clips and post on social media. The most spectacular footage I caught was when a pedestrian dashed out in front of me and I nearly nailed them. Thankfully I was able to stop in time but if I hadn’t then I had the footage exonerating me of any wrongdoing. It’s also fun for recording scenic drives accompanied by good tunes as well as jackass drivers along with my colorful trucker profanities. A dash cam is the best evidence you can have if you’re in an accident. I like this one a lot and highly recommend it.

I’ve had 2 VAVA dash cams since they came out on Kickstarter years ago and both my cameras are still as good as the day I bought them. Nothing has broken, and the Sony cameras are still working perfectly. I use both cameras in my big rig, and bought a 3rd VAVA dash cam for my wife’s car, so if they can take the abuse and jarring bumps of an 18 wheeler u can be sure they will work flawlessly in your 4 wheeler(trucker talk for cars). Thanks VAVA for an amazing dash cam, and even better customer service and continued updates.

I was in a multiple car collision this morning. I was so happy I had the front and rear dual camera installed until I tried to download the footage and got...NOTHING. First I found out that it was only recording the FRONT camera for the last TWO MONTHS, and looks like it stopped recording (or got disconnected during the collision) about 15 minutes before my accident!!

And I only found this out after putting the SIM card into my laptop because for some reason, although my camera starts, can’t connect! Blue light turns on, makes the little startup baseball game noise, blue light blinks once, then turns off. Can’t find my camera WiFi at all.

Really disappointed. I was hoping I could give my recording to the police to help show what happened.

NEVER again. I’m switching to a known and reliable brand.

I wish it would save the front and Rear camera videos as one long clip. My last camera gave you one long video and you have the ability to make smaller clips if you wanted to. I hate that I have to watch multiple small one minute clips. I do really love the snapshot button, but it takes a little too long for it to activate

Update. It’s working again. So the problem was on apple side, as usual, these days. Lots updates and even more bugs.

I can’t use the cam anymore. My phone connects to my camera’s wifi but won’t connect to the camera. !!!!

For me It all started on kickstarter I funded their project and have to say I have zero regrets. At first the product they sent me only lasted about two years but they promise a year warranty and an additional 18 months and they kept their promise and shipped out another Vava Dash cam and not to mention the simplicity of use of the camera with great features.I highly recommend people to go buy it. It will come in handy if the unexpected happens you won’t be disappointed.
