I already previously had a unit with CarPlay .
This software hardly compares . It gives you a GUI similar to CarPlay but that’s where it ends .
There’s nothing simple about navigating CarOSSmartDashboard . It’s a pain to simply get back to the main screen , god forbid you want to switch between music and navigation . It somehow mixes stored music up so artists aren’t with their albums etc … couldn’t even use my own music because CarOSSmartDashboard just jumbled it all up .
This shouldn’t be a subscription app it should be a pay once app .
It’s actually simpler to just use the phone itself with an aux cable or Bluetooth for music and navigation.

CarOSSmartDashboard really needs work . Canceled and Deleted it .

CarOSSmartDashboard looks horrible on the iPad. Their other app looked better. This version makes the icons so large enough t takes the whole screen. I’ve sent 3 emails and not one response.

As others have stated, CarOSSmartDashboard is a good start for what the intentions are. It needs to be developed much more, with The ability to do split screen functions. Also, you don’t get to try anything until you pay money for it, which is a huge downside in my opinion and one of the reasons I will continue to use android apps.

You have to pay a monthly subscription to try CarOSSmartDashboard , or you have to pay $138+ to get a lifetime purchase which you may and may not like the experience after. I wish I can try CarOSSmartDashboard to have a chance to give it an actual review scour.

This looks like a pretty cool app but they dont offer a trial period so I don’t want to spend the money and then find out it isn’t worth it.

I really like the interface of CarOSSmartDashboard and everything runs smoothly. Great layout with big icons. There is definitely room for improvement. The navigation really needs to work inside CarOSSmartDashboard instead of launching it external. It has a navigation map inside but doesn’t work with directions unless you let it launch externally (which it will do for you when you acknowledge it). There are two things that really need to keep me using CarOSSmartDashboard. There needs to be a split screen for a navigation that works with in CarOSSmartDashboard and music on the other side of the screen (like CarPlay). I think Waze and CarOS can come along way if they can be fully functional together. The music function has improved dramatically. However, still allot of clicks to get to what you want to listen to. I’ll keep checking back on CarOSSmartDashboard, but for now not going to subscribe (which are very reasonable prices).
