Terrible app

SnapBridge360170 is terrible. There are severe bugs with basically every feature. Even if the bugs were addressed, the performance is awful. To download photos from the camera, you need to connect to the camera’s private WiFi network - but full res photos can still take more than 5 minutes to download - and forget videos with any significant duration. Once you *do* get things downloaded, SnapBridge360170 ’s photo library sorts completely inscrutably (in what appears to be random order), so you likely won’t be able to find the photos you just downloaded. The entire app is so slow that it’s borderline unusable. I generally just use USB or a card reader to get data off the camera - it’s orders of magnitude faster/easier.

Slightly Slow but Works Well

This is an initial review since I received my Nikon Keymission camera recently.

I was hesitant to purchase the Keymission 170 due to the plethora of poor reviews regarding the connectivity to SnapBridge360170 . After reading the instructions AND following them, I had no issues.

Step one was making sure my camera had the firmware up to date. This is critical when pairing with SnapBridge360170 . Once done, the camera linked to my phone and everything worked (iPhone X with iOS 12.4 installed).

There is a slight learning curve as SnapBridge360170 doesn’t work as smoothly as I think it should but it is not so horrible that it deserves 1-2 stars.

If you expect immediate results out of the box without a little reading and research, the Nikon series action cameras are not for you. Otherwise, great camera and app. I plan to follow up this review once I have used the camera/app for a few months.

It’s great overall!

SnapBridge360170 functions great overall... just keep your Bluetooth on and youre good! If you DO try to remote control your camera just make sure you’re running on your network and you’ll be fine! Aside from that photos do take a few seconds to tops maybe 2 minutes depending how many were taken. But take my word SnapBridge360170 is great✌️😎

Horrific!!

I wish I could give it zero stars....the ability to interface directly with my iPhone is a big part of the reason I bought my Nikon camera.
NOTHING on SnapBridge360170 works, it's one of those succubus apps that devours your time and energy and never .
I contacted Nikon support and they were absolutely worthless as well. Try this, try this, try this.....then finally, it must be your phone.

Nikon is well aware that SnapBridge360170 doesn't work, just read the reviews. They obviously don't care.

Less than 1 star

There are so many expletives I want to write right now but won’t. This camera is the most frustrating camera I’ve ever purchased. I will never buy any product with the Nikon name on it ever again. First and Last purchase. SnapBridge360170 doesn’t sync, the camera doesn’t work, it’s one of the biggest pieces of $&@#%*+€£¥{[#! I have ever bought. I agree with the other review here. There should be a recall on this camera, Nikon should own their failure of a product. $600 down the drain.

No Support for Windows, Poor documentation, Useless App!

This product is basically useless. I am less than impressed with the quality of the videos, and photos. SnapBridge360170 doesn’t work for me in Windows 10, Samsung Note 10+ or IPad Pro11. I’m sure with much attempts and effort it may eventually start connecting to the Keymission 360 camera, but at this point I am beyond frustrated.
I should have just purchased the GoPro!

Keymission 360 rip-off

The lowest star I can give is 1 and this camera and app does not deserve a star. I passed up buying the Theta V 360 only because of the Nikon brand name and I was sooooo wrong. I currently have a Keymission 360 paperweight sitting on my desk collecting dust because this camera is not useable (camera is not broken or have any physical damages). The only thing that’s broken is my trust in Nikon for releasing this failure. I think Nikon owes ALL Keymission owners a refund and an apology.

Great camera, bad app

I felt compelled to defend this camera with a review. The Nikon 360 is a good 360 camera. Its colors are vibrant, good video resolution, really good photo resolution. The stitching is done live in the camera, and it's good too. It's waterproof without a housing, and has two simple buttons: one for video and one for photos. It is compatible with standard sports cam mounts. As a camera, it's perhaps the best consumer option on the market, and I am recommending it for professional clients. The problem is SnapBridge360170 , which is well documented here. Not only is the synching extremely difficult, but re-synching it is also difficult. And synching is required to change the settings. What's more, SnapBridge360170 is really unintuitive. It needs a total overhaul. Nikon needs to fix it to salvage the reputation of an otherwise great product. While they are at it, add functions to manually change basic camera settings settings like aperture and shutter speed, and add the option to record side-by-side images (so you can do your own stitching). Would also be nice to have HDMI controls too. For the price, it's a great camera. Maybe just read the directions beforehand and bring a lot of patience with your first time synching it.

WiFi disconnects between App & Cam!

Updated my Nikon Keymission to FW v1.5 and app version is 1.1.3. When going into liveview mode the WiFi connection between my phone (iPhone 7+ with iOS 12.1.2) will disconnect every time within 10 seconds. Please fix this issue as it is the only way I can liveview the camera!

30 years of owning nikons. This app has me abandoning Nikon.

I ordered my 360 before they were released. Big mistake should have waited to find out that the phone interface is impossible. I’ve owned this camera for over 3 years and it has never successfully paired to SnapBridge360170 .

Nikon must be killing this product

0 stars.
Don’t unpack this camera-return it. Nikon’s lax attitude and poor communication regarding problems with the app/wifi makes me think their commitment to the product is dead.

Simply unacceptably awful

Don’t even bother trying unless you’re using an outdated version of iOS. FIX SnapBridge360170, Nikon. SHAME ON YOU.

Review for the app itself

Earlier I gave a 5 star rating for pairing my phone to SnapBridge360170 ...it literally took about 10-15 seconds to do it. Getting the phone and the wi-fi set up with the camera was a bit trickier but in the end was also easy as pie. simply go to the camera icon on the bottom of SnapBridge360170 screen then click settings, network settings, wifi, and you will see the password - default is like nikonkeymission or something. just change it to your own and click the little "options" button.

Now as far as SnapBridge360170 itself I can see where people find it underwhelming and that is true. Not a lot of bells and whistles but it does work and it's easy to navigate. I was able to take a picture pretty easy using just my phone. Like everything you need to explore SnapBridge360170 and figure out where stuff is at. In other words have a little just a little patience. IT's not a "great" app but it's better than some of the others I have seen and since most of the major complaints are about pairing, once that's done you can simply get to having fun. I'll rate the camera quality specifically after I've played with it more and actually shoot video. So far I will say that I am thrilled with buying this camera and have no regrets so far. I rated SnapBridge360170 'good' over 'o.k.' because it really falls inbetween there.

App needs a lot of work

I was gifted a Nikon Coolpix A900 and was excited about the newer features over my S9700, which I loved. SnapBridge360170 that I used with the S9700 worked flawlessly to download pictures from my camera to my ios devices. This Snapbridge app has some problems, which make using the camera and wirelessly downloading pictures to the device very discouraging.

On the plus side, the Bluetooth connection through SnapBridge360170 appears to work well and pictures can be sent directly to your ios device as you are shooting them. However, when you attempt to download pictures from the camera to the ios device (I have tried with both an iPhone 7 and an iPad Air2), the camera does not communicate with the device over WIFI. You continually receive an error indicating that either the camera or device are not communicating, or that the WIFI signal is to weak. Considering that you are using a local network indicating that you are connected to WIFI with a high signal strength, and my camera is sitting right next to the device, I don't understand how the signal could be too weak. There is simply a problem with the handshake between the camera and ios devices.

Knowing what I know now about this software, I certainly would not have purchased the camera if my expectation was that it would communicate wirelessly with my ios devices.

Not ready

I just bought the 360 camera and after an hour of toggling network settings I finally got it to connect via Bluetooth. After that I had to find out the wifi password, which Nikon sent in an e-mail, but I found it myself. Now I can remote connect after a few attempts. I can view my photos and videos, but downloading always stalls. I don't know why it needs more bandwidth, I'm running in airplane mode with a direct wifi signal, there shoulder be any bandwidth use. This apps needs more work.

Bad user experience but not as bad as I first thought

I have bumped SnapBridge360170 up to 3 star. The issue in bad with connecting appears to be related to the SD card. I had used one that I had already had and though I had formatted it use the software it actually doesn't format the card in the way you might think (more like a delete all) there was some other folders and files on it. Once formatted in using my MacBook the camera connect as it should). I wouldn't say it will work for you but it is worth a try. Honestly really bad support. The product is good though when it works
(Previously)
Nikon you really work hard to surpass GoPro on the Action that you blew past them in how bad to connect your camera to an app. This has be brain dead simple and you have made way to hard and it doesn't even work. I can't even use the camera. And the all who say works fine for them great! But pretty sure that is not the usual experience with the this camera. Very sad and disappointed.
