My favorite game is gone

I have been playing the same game in Solitaire CIty for years and yesterday it was just gone. A single deck of cards, Object to get the suits collected from Ace up. A row of 7 cards was dealt first one face up, second one down and one up, third 3 down and one up and so on. The move among the rows was alternating red and black in descending suits aiming to get the cards face down turned up and exposing the cards to build on the aces. I would play the same game over and over until I won and some games I could not win. It kept my attention like no other.

Stuck on Advertisement

My app is stuck on an advertisement. I closed SolitaireCity last night because the horrible ad for the king app came up and it is still there this morning. It doesn’t budge off the screen and although I updated SolitaireCity it is still there. I guess SolitaireCity has to go the way of the king down the drain.

This just happened again. The ads are bad enough but for them not to leave the screen for days is unacceptable. This used to be a great app but it’s more than lousy now!!!

Fun app

Nice range of solitaire games. Fairly smooth play. The free version has occasional ads that play at a high volume. The end of each winning game has an animated dispersal of the cards to spell out a celebratory word. Kind of fun at first, but repetitive and takes way too much time after you've played more games. Can't figure out the pattern to the bonuses awarded for the final scores.

This is my favorite app, but....

I’ve had SolitaireCity since my first iPhone. It’s the one I play every day. It’s my go to while waiting in the doctor’s office. I get super excited when they add new games (which they haven’t done in a long time, now that I think of it). BUT... I’ve now paid twice to remove the ads. And they keep coming back. That’s so scammy!! It is the pebble in my shoe that bugs me. And since I play every day, it bugs me every day. How greedy do you have to be? And how many times am I going to have to pay to remove the ads? Be honest with me & in your advertising. Say, for example, “This will remove ads for two years and/or until we indiscriminately decide to put them back.” It would still be irritating, but at least it would be honest....

Update: Received a less than helpful response from developers saying the ads are my mistake. I DO have two Solitaire Cities on my phone. One whose copyright expired in 2017 & one through 2021. So I’m supposed to be using the version that expired in 2017? Come one now! Don’t blame me for your error! That makes it feel even more scammy! I’m not the only one that noted this in their review. I guess we’re all wrong? Just admit you want me to pay again.

Fun, solid games

I've learned some great new games with this! I never knew there were so many versions of solitaire. It works great on the iPad, and the layout is big and bright on the iPhone too. Perfect for zoning out when you wake up in the night and want to empty your brain of that weird dream so you can go back to sleep. Thanks to Digital Smoke for this free app, with not-to-many ads! I'd upgrade to the paid version if my iCloud account was not malfunctioning...

Least amount of ads in a game

I’ve been playing this game for a couple of months now. There are zero issues with SolitaireCity . It works as it should, all the time. I love it. The ads are few and far between and short. Not sure how this developer makes money but if you want to actually play solitaire instead of watching ads, download this game.

Love This App

This is my go-to app whenever I have a “sit and wait” moment. It offers a wide range of fun card games. Whenever I get bored with one, I simply try out another one. It’s managed to keep me entertained on a daily basis for almost 5 years now! The set-up of SolitaireCity is logical, it rarely has glitches, and while the free version has ads, the placement of them is not annoying.

A game that is hypnotic! Where has the time gone?

I love to play solitaire! SolitaireCity is one of my favorite games. I can play Solitaire City for hours. If you like to play solitaire, you will love SolitaireCity. I highly recommend Solitaire City which is truly hypnotic, I will look up, while playing this game, then check the time, and I will be surprised that so much time had passed while I was playing Solitaire City.

Now Here This

I am unhappy because I had an ad free game you made me upgrade because said mtother wasn’t supported. Now I have ads. I had paid for no ads and cannot see doing it again. I am 79 years old and enjoy my games but do not enjoy you ads for other games. If I want another game I am perfectly capable of getting a new game. This was an unfair bait and switch on me.

Win count is buggy

I have played many more than 2000 Games of this solitaire. All in classic Klondike mode. I am convinced that the tally of successive wins and loses is buggy. Just now i was going for my 5th consecutive win, which I won!!! BUT the tally of successive wins reset to ZERO!!!! Clearly I am addicted to this game but just as clearly something is wrong with the successivs wins counting function!!

They fixed it quick

I use SolitaireCity at least once a day, and have for a long time so I must think it is good. I keep only a handful of game apps on my iPad. There was a problem with the last update that is mentioned below, as I was making that post an update was released that fixed it. Good work! Someone else must have commented about it. Anyway nice distraction. I’ll keep playing.

This last update requires that you choose to turn off scoring every time you open SolitaireCity . Wrong move. …

Great Collection

I've had SolitaireCity for years now. I just upgraded to the "new" version and it still has all my high scores and statistics. Most ads are non-invasive, just full screen ads when you win a game (not if you lose!). These games are a great way to pass a few minutes while waiting for people or in bed trying to get sleepy. After long breaks I always go back to it. Updates have always improved SolitaireCity . Overall, I really enjoy SolitaireCity.

Best Solitaire EVER

Highly recommend! It's the only Solitaire I play now & I tried many. Lots of variety, tutorials, & great scoring so you can compete with yourself. More different games than others. If you get tired of the "celebration" after the win, just hit "end game" to stop & get your score. Absolutely love SolitaireCity!! But warning, its highly addictive. Definitely the BEST!!

Great collection!

I've used SolitaireCity for a couple of weeks & I expect I'll use it for years. There's a great selection of solitaire games, each with easy to understand rules. You can even play along with a training game to be sure you understand how to play. The scoring is fun & the entire app is addictive - so much variety.

Solitaire City the best!

Beautifully constructed; very attractive, classic graphics without the fussiness that ruins most versions of Solitaire. I especially love the subtle but convenient auto-throw features and play-off at the end; and the fact that the game retains high scores and other statistics through upgrades to new versions. Bravo, Peter Wiseman and team!

Fun game

Easy to play, always performs well for me - no lock ups or delays. All cards turn seem and feel very random. Nice to allow to reverse a move that either made in error or see a better choice. Gives you a hint if you really want one.

Great way to pass time

I really enjoy playing these games. I can play them anywhere-in long lines, in the car, waiting rooms. The only thing I don't like are the ads with full sound- way to wake up the baby or disturb others. ☹️ Otherwise, clean-looking, good variety and lots of fun.

Solitaire City

One of the best apps I have tried!
My only criticism is that when you hit the “new game” button, it immediately starts a new game. Since this button is very close to the top of the screen, I have accidentally hit it while rearranging my iPad and have therefore lost the game I was working on. I suggest adding a warning such as “do you really want to leave this game” before erasing the present game.
Thanks…I have played this game for years and enjoyed it immensely!

Tough to win

This is the best Solitaire game on the internet but has recently become really difficult to win. I will probably never top my high score which is what I always try to do, but it is still very entertaining.

There is no other

This has been my go-to game for over a decade. So many apps come and go, but for a solid, well-made solitaire app, nothing I’ve found compares. Still updated, still great after all these years.
