SignSchool only gives you the option to tab through videos of completely random signs, most of which are things I do NOT need to know in the basics. I got words like "orbit" and "Nevada". The topics page is completely blank, so you can't look through things like days or states or greetings, it's pretty much plain luck on whatever sign it decides to show you.

This is a great app for learning ASL! Tons of signs. It would be nice if in the dictionary there was a way to skip to the different letters. I hope they plan to add more signs, because there are some basic words that aren’t there. The “Topics” button under “Dictionary & more” doesn’t work. Also, when they have multiple videos for one sign, it would be nice if they could tell you the difference.

I’m learning ASL now and SignSchool is good but not what I thought it would be. There’s an extensive vocabulary but you can’t search for a word, you have to scroll. There’s also no option to add words to a vocabulary list to review. That’s disappointing because I have weekly vocabulary words in my ASL class that I’d like to be able to review without going through the whole list.

SignSchool is good and the real reason I wanted an ASL app was to help keep me knowledgeable over summer break. My only issue with SignSchool is that every region has a different dialect of the language so for example the way SignSchool shows Hawaii is not how I learned it. How I was though Hawaii is signed is like pretty but with an H instead of the whole hand. No one is wrong in the sign they use for the word because the language is always changing but that is kinda a flaw with SignSchool.

SignSchool is great but it needs some tweaks. When I click on topics, it only shows a blank white page with no topics. So I'll wait a little while for it to load but it doesn't. Also in the dictionary if I search something like "I know" like 3 different "I know"s will pop up. At first I thought 'oh there must just be more then one way to say it' but nope, their all the same. Other then those 2 little tweaks, I really liked SignSchool!

This is definitely an amazing resource for me as a hard of hearing person who is slowly working on my ASL. The only thing that has me going to other apps first is how slow the videos load and also that there's no ability to download the videos to review when wifi isn't available. Please consider fixing those issues in further updates! I love it otherwise. :)

I’m ten years old and I’m trying to learn asl so I thought this is all that’s needed. Not really. So my reasoning for four stars is because the for represents that you can actually search signs, slow them down and learn them quickly. The poor white star represents that SignSchool should be updated weekly because things are getting more complicated. That’s it. Thank you for taking your time to read this!

When I started this, I was so excited because I love learning everything. When I started, they started with a random word, I was confused... I tried to keep going on, thinking it was a glitch, but no, there was more random words, and I thought to myself, why don’t they have sections for each level? I would like to keep learning step by step excitedly

Everything seems to be working but I would like a favorite tab that has sections. That way I can easily find the one I need without having to look through everything. For example you can “favorite” one of them and then put it in a folder with similar ones or about a certain topic…

Overall, this is an amazing app. It’s helped me a lot with learning ASL. Once I first got it, the topics page was fine. After using it for about an hour, it wouldn’t load. Next, I noticed some basic words weren’t on there. To name a few ,the, are, lazy, etc. If these were fixed I would give it 5 stars.

The one this I wish was added was lgtbq information because I looked in the dictionary on SignSchool and it didn’t have any and I tried to learn it because I have lots of family and I wish I could learn it but I couldn’t see it at all otherwise it is very good app and I would recommend

So.. I really like SignSchool but I wished they would add a couple more things there. First I would like for it to go back because if I accidentally go forward and I wanted to go back there was no way to go back. Second I wished you could search things up so it could be easier, but I love the video that’s shows you what’s the move.

I’m teaching myself asl with a handful of apps. To compare to others, I like that this one includes a lot of phrases vs single words, and I love the word of the day feature. I wish I could save all of the signs I’ve reviewed on SignSchool somewhere to go back and reference them again, and maybe a feature to test me on the signs I've previously reviewed. Over all it’s solid, but would recommend for people that have the basics down and want to add more casually to their repertoire.

I have a hard time learning languages and I have never learned something quicker than with this app! The only things I would change is to have clarification and definitions of words for context. (Ex is someone being mean versus what did you mean?)

I thought it was a good app because it is simple, organized, you can search up the word you wanna know and it has live references that you can slow down to watch for better understanding

This is the best app so far for ASL that you don’t have to pay for! SignSchool is so under appreciated and it needs more attention! I love that this is free, because I don’t have a way to pay for in-app purchases so this is really cool and helpful! It is kind of sad that all of these apps aren’t free, because what if someone is too poor, but deaf to go to classes to learn how to communicate! That is why these apps should be free and practical! And I’m so thankful that SignSchool is free and practical! The only thing that I would have to say is that I noticed that I would see a word on the word list repeat like several times and that can get annoying, but for it being free I don’t mind too much. One suggestion that I would give SignSchool would be to add a favorite option where you can favorite your favorite words and phrases so you can get to them faster. And if you guys can fix your glitch where the words don’t repeat, that would make SignSchool even more awesome! ❤️❤️

This is a really handy ASL app if I want to have a dictionary without paying. One thing I suggest adding is a save option, where you can save your favorite signs or ones you need to know, instead of you having to search it up again. Thanks!

Wish some of the videos could go a little slower. There’s a couple of people from the videos that even when I click slow-mo, they move a little too fast so I can’t see proper finger placement. Otherwise great

Searching for ASL gifs online is really cumbersome! SignSchool makes it easy. It should allow you to favorite words so that you can have a set you are practicing. If we were able to make different lists of words that would be helpful as well. I.e. List for colors, chores, shopping, foods, numbers etc

I think it's a good way to learn asl especially when you're first starting out but the one thing I think SignSchool should have is a description under the video explaining the differences between a word that is the same but has two or more signs. For example like under clothing there's two different signs for boot so it should have a description explaining when you should use it.

I highly recommended you to have SignSchool because I do know three of the people who are in this video. I went to school with them and they were honor students in a few years ago. I have encouraged my hearing families to download SignSchool. It is a really good start to learn to speak in ASL.
