You would think with the exorbitant fees this service charge that they’d keep up to date with their services; assuring they worked accordingly, but no! They’re simply in the business of exploiting the the families of prisoners. There is absolutely no reason this service should crash as much as it does. Constantly charging the very second someone attempts to answer. Essentially siphoning off funds, as the video call doesn’t connect. This server isn’t capitalism; it’s extortion.
Services such as HomeWAV charge a $2 fee for any amount of funds added, it’s only 15¢, there are constant app updates for it, and it NEVER crashed. If that company can provide inmate Les with great consistent service at a fraction of the price, there is absolutely no reason why CTC isn’t doing it other than pure greed and a disregard for others. It is abundantly clear that the inmates aren’t the only ones who are paying a price for their accusations.
Worst app ever. Says been connecting people since 1900s but can’t connect to the WiFi for the life of me. Eats up my money while I wait for the call to connect and half the time the screen is gray and I can’t even see my loved one. In 2 months I’ve had to spend the same amount in rent because of the ridiculous fees. Y’all are taking advantage cuz you know people want to talk to the ones they love and will stay putting money on there. Y’all really down bad for that.
calls constantly dropping while on video call , video is still running collecting your money even when your call doesn’t go through, sometimes don’t receive my husband texts &’ he doesn’t receive mines I mean honestly if it wasn’t for my daughter and him I would never use CityTeleCoin it’s basically a rip off reading all the reviews on google going through the same exact thing I just wouldn’t recommend CityTeleCoin to no one maybe if your desperate to see your love one Like me.. other then that their too high &’ it’s a total rip off
CityTeleCoin needs a lot of improvements!! During a video call the screen goes dark &you have to keep touching it to stay on. My low battery indicator came on & I touched ok to clear so I could finish the call but I was disconnected. Basically any pop ups appear on your phone you can’t touch them or the call will end. This is horrible to keep getting disconnected 3 times within 15 minutes. I can only add funds from the website & not CityTeleCoin . This is extremely annoying. Please fix CityTeleCoin
You definitely don’t get what you pay for with CityTeleCoin. I added $65 and only got about $50 worth of talk time. When my husband video calls me I always miss it because CityTeleCoin doesn’t notify me and I made sure all my notifications were on. And it still charges the .50 cents because he attempted to video chat me. It’s so expensive. A text is .50 cents. It’s highway robbery! They know you have to talk to your loved one so they charge whatever they want. But hey at least I get to hear hubby’s voice through the static.
The ability to send text messages is great but the prices are insane and I can only receive a video call while I have CityTeleCoin open. I was charged each time he tried to call without it even connecting for the video call. 50¢ a minute is a lot, the extra fees and taxes take most of the funds you deposit for your loved one and I still haven't been able to even check the balance ON CityTeleCoin ; I have to go online to check the balance and add funds. For the prices I expect better. ICS Solutions is much more efficient and user friendly. I wish the facility could pick up a contract with them.
This video app freezes up not even a minute into so basically makes it a very expensive phone call. I got charged for fifty cents and there wasn’t even a second on there. It’s a rip. I’d rather go back to HomeWAV the jail had before. At least they didn’t charge more and the prices didn’t go up it was $3.99 at first for 15 mins call now it’s $4.01. Plus they send u a statement and they take out more money for that. I even called if I can not receive they said they can’t. And we already pay admission fees for each deposit that should cover the monthly statement fee
As much money as this company charges… you figure they would have an app that works. I’d feel less bad about being charged ridiculous amounts of money for basic communication. CityTeleCoin crashes 70% of the time… sometimes it takes 10 or 15 minutes to finally communicate… like my time isn’t important to me… we already know your time is worth a fortune… how about putting some of that back into your system and make it work. There is absolutely no reason you can’t have an app that do what yours does without crashing so much.
CityTeleCoin is literally the worst app I have ever had to use. It never works correctly and my brother always has to call about 5-10 times back to back before CityTeleCoin will actually answer the call. Then even when I have CityTeleCoin open I can’t even see him because it puts him really tiny at the top of the screen. CityTeleCoin will always close itself out and I have to reopen it including during calls. It’s obvious whoever created CityTeleCoin is in it for the money and not actually to connect people who want to talk to their families. I would give CityTeleCoin zero starts if I could. TERRIBLE app.
Using CityTeleCoin is like the hardest thing to do you can never correct most of the time. Unless I’m on wifi. There’s always an issue it freezes all the time. The phone hand set is like literally 9 inches from the screen so I can’t see the face of the person I’m calling. I don’t think that because the people that use this service are in jail we should be treated like second class citizens cuz they are in jail. For the money We am spending should be a better system. You are making your money.
CityTeleCoin barely works, couldn’t get it to load messages. I eventually just used the website instead but didn’t want you use any of it … I paid $15 dollars and out of that I only got to h e 7.96 on my account after their fees com out but FOR SOME REASON they decide they are gonna charge me twice for that $15 SO … after the 2nd charge of $15… for some reason after their fees for the 2nd charge this time I had 9 something left out of $15 instead of $7 something so why would it be different each time so out of $30 dollars I had a whopping $17 something… that is RIDICULOUS.. something needs to be done about this . SECURUS … NEVER EVER WAS THAT EXPENSIVE
This has to be one of the worst apps I’ve ever tried to use. Limited services, does not work correctly, and the cost for the different services are absolutely outrageous!
It took days of trying to get through on the phone to a person to get account sorted out, then told I can’t do payments or anything more than messaging on CityTeleCoin because I have an iPhone. I finally get the account and payment sorted but can’t answer, receive, or open anything due to having to “give permission” in settings, yet I have given all permissions and still get the same message. Absolute crap. This should not even be legal. I am actually outraged!!
It’s not bad when it works. U have to have the best wifi so ur pics don’t freeze up. U can have excellent service and it may work but here lately CityTeleCoin just closes out before u can make a call. And it’s super over priced for you to possibly get a couple minutes and it actually work. CityTeleCoin needs a lot of work. And the customer service guy was completely rude. Like if u don’t like your job find a new one. He purposely didn’t not activate my account and was laughing with another rep about it. He thought I couldn’t hear but I did. I wasn’t rude to him so I don’t even understand pple that go out there way to be ugly. But that’s what the employees are like so all around I can’t even give CityTeleCoin 1 star! Sorry!
If I could give CityTeleCoin zero stars I would. To actually be able to video chat properly you need to be in front of a laptop or computer. I don’t even know why they made a app for phones or tablets because it doesn’t work. When I click to video call my husband CityTeleCoin often crashes, it also will make his picture extremely small on video call in the middle of the call my husbands screen will start shrinking, it doesn’t connect well, it often looses connection even if you’re in the best WiFi the worlds has to offer city telecom will disconnect you. The absolute worse. My husband has 55 days left of the his expensive garbage. The jail should’ve got securus. The web developers who made CityTeleCoin were clearly beginners

CityTeleCoin is buggy to start with. Trying to load messages is maybe it will maybe it won’t. When trying to type a message on a cell phone, you have to hunt your message. It scrolls to the bottom of the message. The design of CityTeleCoin is in bad need of updating and de-bugging. Jails should not use this vendor until they have updated their products and they function properly.
CityTeleCoin never fails to glitch !! When I open the video call for incoming calls the video always shuts off and I have to restart … the video quality is poor most times and also the video of the inmate will at times disappear to the top of the screen or disappear in all !! It’s a good app tho … I also don’t like the fact we can’t set a notification sound for CityTeleCoin that option should be available… you’ll have to constantly check it on your own in order to see the messages but the video call does make a notification sound!!
I like CityTeleCoin because I get to video chat with my friend, but the prices are insane. Let’s say I only want to put 50¢ in to send a message to a friend... I can’t. I have to put a minimum of $8 in at least because a full call is $4 and fees take almost half of the money if not more. I don’t want to call! I want to send a message! What even is a full call? 1 minute? 5 minutes? 30? As long as I want??? PLUS we have to put money into the inmate’s account too, so family members end up paying double! This is ridiculous! Why are you charging the innocent people? I’d rather go back to only being able to call and email because at least then I can contact him without having to pay insane amounts of money...
I’ve been using CityTeleCoin for about two months and now everything‘s been going really well but for some reason what I switched to an iPhone yesterday now I can’t see how much money I have on my account so I don’t know when to add more money can you please fix this problem the bottom green used to not just be account history it used to be two little green boxes at the bottom wanted to see your balance and then want to make a payment please fix this please
App is easy and convenient as far as sending and recipe text message. Haven’t figured out video chat part yet. Only down part about app is that it takes a long time to load at times and you don’t know if the inmate has received message until they respond. Besides that app is pretty cool. Can keep in touch at all times. Texting is cheaper than calls.
CityTeleCoin is awesome! It lets me send messages and video chat with my best friend in jail.. most places you can only have phone calls with people in jail so this is awesome! The only thing I don’t like is when the person in jail is calling to video chat it doesn’t ring or open my phone screen like a phone call or FaceTime would it just pops up at the top of my phone like a notification, I’ve missed a few video chats bc of this!!
Although customer service has been very pleasant. I have to constantly delete and reinstall CityTeleCoin - can we say really annoying?
Also- some of my messages are not going thru- and I don’t know where it stems from interference from Citi telecoin or the jail.
The jury is still out on this, but there’s got to be a better way to communicate with your loved lines than being over charged by this company. For example: if you put $50 on your account, you only get $36 after all the fees. They take $14 out! Highway robbery! It isn’t fair to punish people incarcerated and their families- especially if they are in for false charges.
CityTeleCoin is the worst! I haven’t been able to connect with my friend for over 6 months. I’ve deleted and downloaded CityTeleCoin 4 times already. I tried resetting password, it says email sent but never received (yes, I’ve checked the spam/junk folder too). I tried setting up a new account, but it won’t allow me since I’m already in the system. I figured you guys make a lot of money from this service, which is hard to believe you have mediocre web/app developers managing this. Just wow...
Would love to talk to my incarcerated love one but unfortunately I can’t I type my email and password which has been the same for years. Let’s me make an account then won’t let me use it to log in. So I try to reset my password then it says failure. Finally I make a new email and try all over again just so it can tell me that I can’t make another account with the same phone number. Don’t waste your time with this sorry excuse for an app
Doesn’t matter if a person is a criminal or not, it does not validate the highway robbery that CityTeleCoin and the local jails are doing to the innocent families just trying to see their kin! It is BS that I go to deposit $20 on a new brand new account and after all their sir charges and what not, only $12 goes on the account!! THATS ALMOST HALF GONE! This will become a federal case against this application and the injustice BS they are doing with the city’s judicial system!
CityTeleCoin is outrageous on there prices for one call and I should get some of my money back for all the problems I have with it I have amazing WiFi and this thing keeps telling me everytime I get a call sum bout low WiFi and all this bull then we have to call four or five times before we can actually talk!!!! Sound doesn’t work on video. Can’t add money most of the time. Will not work on OS products. Do not call the support line because people are rude, they do not understand their product, and after 3 days of them telling me it was my fault that I do not understand the software someone fixed the problem. They over charge for messages. A COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!!!!!
CityTeleCoin is horrible. Can’t make a payment.., can’t change your password.. can’t log back in after your out sometimes.. always say my password is wrong when it’s not.. just a really horrible system. I wish it worked a lot better. The whole thing needs a lot of work to be fixed
I think the prices are ridiculous. It’s bad enough that we have love ones in jail but to charge an arm or leg to communicate with them, is like kicking a dog when he’s already down!! When some of us are raising their kids and NEED to ask important questions or have that child know that their parent hasn’t vanished into thin air. I understand that monitoring all communication is necessary and costly but come on, give us a break!!
I was really liking CityTeleCoin! Except you guys went up on charges on messages from 5 cents to .50 cents over night! How do y’all expect anybody to pay for that for any amount of time! It’s ridiculous!! How about y’all think about if it were you guys brother, sister, mother, or father, or son, or daughter in jail and you wanted to communicate with them! The continued upping of pricing is ridiculous!!
It’s a good app but it always closes every time I open.. sometimes I can’t hear the other person on the video call but they can hear me and we have to hang yo and keep trying it again. I hate that they just took the payments off so you can be able to see your balance.
Please bring back the ability to see the balance without having to go to the website. Thank you.
This app is highway robbery. The inmate only gets about half of the money I spend. for $50 he only gets $36.42. They charge for everything. Then he says he's not getting the money, The video calls are garbage. You can't hear what they're saying and it glitches every other word. It freezes 90% of the time and we end up having to end the call. I pay taxes so I shouldn't have to pay all this money to talk to an inmate.

This is just another way to bleed the inmates and their families. This app will not allow my family member to call my cell phone. He has to call through the video call and it drops at one min. Every call is less than a minute and we are charged 1$ each time not to mention the take half of the original amount you put on the inmates account. I thought that these type of companies had been replaced but obviously I had been mistaken. I have sent email but they have not responded and once I read the fine print their is a statement that calls made to cell phones will not be refunded. I have never had a dropped call on my cell phone. This is just another way they can force us to pay. They should be investigated and the money they have stolen should be given back to the many people they have stolen from. This is very unfair to the families of people that are incarcerated. Most of us can not afford these rates to begin with. Then they force your hand by having no option except to pay this ridiculous price.

The service provided by CityTeleCoin is the; absolute sorriest/worse/unprofessional/unfair to the inmates; especially their family and friends/unkind/uncaring/money grubbing/price rip-off big time/poor quality even when service works/substandard/etc., etc., and of course etc.! CTC claims it's the jail's fault! There needs to be a class-action lawsuit filed on behalf of the inmates and their families against CITYTELECOIN. wHEW!
Saying invalid account wont let me login
I bought a calling card for my son who is in the county jail in saline county ar. I have the city telecoin app but when he tries to call it notifies me thats i have an incoming call from him but no option to answer the call. It says the app is compatiable with ios ( i have the iphone xr) can someone explain to me the problem and how to fix it?
Omg it's a rip off ,plus I can't even get in my account ,I just was in it making a video call ,I got out of it ,and tried to go back in it now it's saying my username and password is invalid and then I go to forgot pw and send it to my number are email it's saying it's invalid omg it's always problems with this
