Rokumote your Roku TV Remote Reviews

I am pretty upset. I got this for my tv only to find when I needed to pause the movie an add would pop up. This would make me wait for the add or find the exit button before I could go about pausing the movie. I decided to pay to have the adds removed, but when Rokumote was updated, the adds came back. I am pretty frustrated with this. Not sure if I can keep it around. There are other apps that will work with my tv.

Not going to go on about it. Simple fact is this. Hit any button 3 times. Another ad pops up. They constantly change where the X is. So you have to analyze the ad to get past it. Sometimes they hide the X. Make it small. Make you wait. Sometimes it’s a “No thanks”. It is hyper annoying. I get it’s free. You will have ads. Just this insane amount? Rather just look for my remote (cause I always lose it) if I’m going to spend 15 minutes getting to something on Netflix’s. Booooo 👎

In short - they lie, steal your money and provide no way to follow up/complain.

I contemplated giving two stars because Rokumote works, however the ads interrupt the use of the remote constantly! I understand you need the ads to make a buck, HOWEVER when you provide the option to get rid of the ads by paying a fee, then I expect that you’d actually stop with the ads!

I paid to have the ads removed, but guess what still popped up?! The ads!!! I then tried to contact them to alert them of this and the email they provide is fake, so it never sends! So they steal your money and refuse to even provide you with a way to contact them to correct the issue.

This is crap - get the ROKU app instead because this is some bull crap!

I downloaded Rokumote because my boyfriend seems to ALWAYS lose our Roku remote. I had the ROKU app before but this time I just clicked this one real fast not thinking about it. It’s free but if you want to watch stupid ads everytime you touch anything on the remote this is great for you! It’s annoying and unnecessary, seriously I need it as a REMOTE not some game you don’t mind being paused for ads because you don’t wanna pay for the ad free version. But news flash there are like four other FREE apps just like this one with NO ADS. I literally had Rokumote for 5 minutes and now it’s getting deleted because it’s some nonsense!
Please don’t waste your time and just download a different roku remote app.

So I have a Phillips Roku TV. I have used the roku remote app for some time on several roku tv’s. All of a sudden I try and turn the volume up and I get a notification “ Rokumote is dedicated for roku devices only would you like to try out our app dedicated to Phillips devices?” Sure!! Why not you must know something I don’t. So I click yes download the Phillips tv remote app, scan and choose my Phillips roku tv! Only because you know I can’t use the roku remote on my roku tv because it’s a Phillips but that’s irrelevant I got a message stating “ Rokumote is dedicated for Phillips devices only, would you like to try out app dedicated to roku devices?” I can’t stop spinning

My wife downloaded Rokumote using our shared Apple ID and my bank account (checking) was defrauded and cleaned out the within hours. Coincidences do not exist ladies and gentlemen. It’s not a far cry that a third party app can steal your banking information if you’re using Apple Pay. This is not an attack on Apple. We love and use many of their products and will continue to do so. It is however a stern warning DO NOT USE Rokumote. We have very routine spending habits, meaning we only visit stores we trust. Hours after Rokumote was downloaded fraudulent ATM withdrawals in the amounts of $62 and $82 were made. I’m grateful less than $200 was in the checking account or I’d be in a world of hurt. COINCIDENCES DO NOT EXIST!!!!

I get it, this is a free app, so ads are a necessary evil. However, they are NONSTOP. They are SO constant, it’s practically impossible to utilize the remote. Every single time we try to do anything, we have to close out of like half a dozen pop ups, every single time! A basic function that should take 2 seconds, ends up taking 30, as we have to wait until we’re able to “close ad” before we can continue. We’re talking 30 second increments, 6 times in a row, just to pause.

I have the original ROKU remote app installed on my phone, but it recently stopped working. I probably need to an update or something, because when it did work, it was so easy and flawless. I used it for 2 years with zero problems and NO ads.

That said, if you’re in a pinch like I was and this is your only other option, it does serve its purpose, but I can guarantee it’ll frustrate the heck out of you.

I love Rokumote so much but the one thing I hate about it is that there’s ads every two seconds it’s kind of annoying and it makes me want to delete Rokumote but I really think it’s really helpful just in case you lose your remote but I just don’t like it because there’s ads every two seconds

I absolutely love Rokumote! It is amazing to have whenever I lose my remote. But I think that it would improve by having a volume button! I just hate that whenever I lose my remote I can’t change the volume! But other than that I think Rokumote is amazing!

Ok honestly it’s a good app. It works great, but the only problem is there is no volume button. So every person who lost there remote has to stay on the same volume forever? Yes I know it’s there fault they lost there remote, but I feel like you would get more 5-star ratings if you had volume buttons. I would rate this a 5-star app if there were volume buttons.

Luv to have on my phone, Especially when remote can't b found... Really annoying when advertisements pop up &a I cant close out bc U have to wait for X to show & by this time u have forwarded to far &I have to rewind or something else aggravating !! Other than the pop ups that I have to wait b4 I can close them out, works great and is faster than original remote! Thanx, Great Job!

Rokumote works just like the remote. I have a roku box in one room and roku incorporated into a tv in another room and Rokumote scans and then allows you to choose the roku your using. I would have given it 5 stars but because of a pet peeve I couldn’t. In the detection of device screen the word sure is misspelled, probably more but I haven’t used app enough to read all of its content. In this day of technology there should Not be any misspellings, every device puts a red line under any word that is questionably misspelled. Sorry app design/programmer/team.

Rokumote works amazingly, it works even faster than my phone! Now if I lose the remote I have a second option. The only issue I want to ask about is the volume, either I can not locate it or it is not there, but that is one of the bigger issues I have to worry about while living in a crowded home.

My dog officially destroyed the remote pretty much to no return. Luckily I thought maybe there was a remote app and BOOM! There was! So this is awesome for us bc I was highly frustrated.
Only downfall is there is no volume which would be more convenient. I have a roku smart tv.
Also adds are annoying af but that’s apps for ya.

I would recommend this because it is a great device for when you lose your Remote it took me three days to figure it out but it was worth it I definitely think this is a cool game to trick people into thinking the TV is broken it is the best device ever I bet there’s a better way though. It’s kind a hard to understand it took me a couple of days like I said it’s a great device

No Issues.

Our Only Issue Is We Lost Our Original Roku Remote. Rokumote Is Luckily A Good Replacement. For Everyone Complaining That Rokumote Doesn't Have A Volume Button, Your Roku Doesn't Have Speakers. Your Original Roku Remote Didn't Have Volume Option Either Did It?

Just what I needed get it...it works just make sure ur tv is on and Rokumote is connected to the tv and you’ll be all set it’s easy to use easy to hook up and only took me a few minutes only on problem...you have to manually turn on the tv and then u can use the remote!

I really love the convenience of being able to have my remote control on my phone.
I have a few little boys who can’t seem to keep their hands off of the remote or they take the batteries out. Rokumote has been a lifesaver when it’s time for a Mommy's Moment 🤳🏽💆🏽‍♀️

I bought Rokumote a while back so I wouldn’t have ads. It had an update yesterday and now I’m getting ads. Tried to contact them, email was undeliverable. Fantastic!

Update: the company doesn’t contact you to try and fix it after leaving a review either. Now, video ads have started!

I lost my physical remote unfortunately. Without Rokumote I would not be able to use my roku. Overall Rokumote is great. It's free easy to use and is actually more convenient than a physical remote. All the same functions, to be honest once I tried Rokumote I stopped tearing my house apart to find the lost original remote. So yeah thanks for creating this.
