I really love HPSprocket because with all the aesthetic trends that are going on I can print out Polaroid pictures for free after the purchase and I can hang them up on the wall and do all sorts of stuff with them and they are just really good quality and I definitely recommend getting one! For all of the people saying that there is is not working it is not because of the developer it is because of the operator if it is not working as it should and you were probably doing something wrong please read thoroughly through the instructions and maybe it will actually work but until then please stop hating on the developers just because of your problems thank you.

Does not print correctly for the 2.3x3.4 select paper size. The printer does not print what is on the screen and there’s no way to adjust a photo on the screen up or down to where it prints the section of a photo that you want to print. It crops part of the original photo for HPSprocket display and then crops even more on the print final. This is not good. In collages, you’re unable to re-orient the photo to match the square. For example if I have a portrait photo in the four window collage, I am unable to rotate it to where it fits in that square so I can only see may be a third of the picture itself. You should really be able to orient pictures in a collage. Additionally there needs to be a lot more collage options. Also most of the add on frames and designs cater to portrait orientation. Need lots more landscape designs. You should also be able to resize photos within the parameters of the print frame. It will fill up the frame and often clip off the edges of taxed. Also why can’t you freehand multiple pictures on one single print and orient them in any direction you want.

There is a lot of nice things for the user experience and aesthetics of HPSprocket. Unfortunately using it is still a frustrating experience. It’s hard to tell when the printer is actually on or not (that is also a problem of the actual hardware). Most of the photos print out too washed out or overly splotchy compared to the image on HPSprocket .

The most annoying but hopefully easy to fix thing: it’s impossible to choose the crop on the photo—the standard iPhone photo is just a bit too big for the printed paper and there’s no way to adjust in HPSprocket what part of the photo gets cut off, so I’ve printed a bunch of photos with someone’s head or face cut off. Even when i crop the photo differently in the iPhone photo editor it still shows up with the wrong proportions on the sprocket app and print. What’s the point of printing the photo when it doesn’t really show what i actually want to be printed....please i hope there will be a feature soon to choose what is in the printed frame of the print—i really want to like the sprocket and HPSprocket.

So I have the dumbest ex-wife, and I understand I shouldn’t be taking a star from your app for her error, but I also feel like there should be a large warning in place for people as ignorant as she is!! I honestly don’t know if you had the warning in there but she said she “had no idea that the blue piece was important, thought it was just for shipping protection....” anyway, I bring it up because the picture quality without it was MASSIVELY different than with it, and I say that because that’s the only difference I could infer between my sisters, and the one I bought for my son! It is a super fun printer and I love everything about it EXCEPT the need for the blue smart sh!T-sheet, and the lack of 5 warning labels in red saying “do not throw away the blue piece of paper!!!! Thanks for reading this horrible rant, 5/5 stars for the printer WITH the blue paper 4/5 without!

The printer itself works fine, setup was easy, picture quality is passable but not great. The biggest issue for me is HPSprocket . It keeps crashing and it seems to be mainly when i select a non-recent photo. When i select a current photo there are no issues, but anything older and HPSprocket crashes. I have tons of pictures on my phone and it would be nice if HPSprocket had a better way of sorting or finding pictures insted of scrolling. That is such a time waster especially when you finally scroll to the picture you want just to have thr app crash. I’m not sure why they wont allow you to just share the picture directly from the camera roll to the printer. That would definitely work better than having to go through HPSprocket everytime if they cant get the sorting, crashing ans mediocre picture quality improved.

UPDATE: I did everything suggested, and my printer still won’t connect. It looks like lots of people with newer phones have this issue with their older printers.

I loved HPSprocket, and the pictures were almost always good quality. However, the last few times I’ve tried to reconnect my printer (for some reason HPSprocket didn’t remember it) it hasn’t worked. It is an older model, but HPSprocket still recognizes it until I try to set it up. It says “configuring” and then says there was a setup error. I forgot the device in my Bluetooth settings like it told me to and followed all other prompts, but it’s still not working. HPSprocket is up to date, but the issue still hasn’t been resolved in my printer. I’m really bummed, and I hope they’re not trying to slow down older printers so I have to buy a new one.

I know it’s Christmas and your probably working on this. I just wanted to say thank you!!! This is really awesome. I’ve been always using my phone to take pictures but I never knew how I should show it to people on paper or something. I would have to go on the computer and do all that work! But this resolved everything for taking pictures!! I love to take pictures and this helps me show it to the people who want to see it. I’m so grateful I got this for Christmas today, and a person who downloaded HPSprocket. This is much easier to print! I may be 13, but I’m so happy that this is a real little printer. Update: the issue was finally fixed after reinstalling HPSprocket . Wow, so much time lost. Love HPSprocket though when it works!!

My sprocket does not connect to my phone anymore after this update... I did not have any issues previously, and now my printer is not usable. I spent whole evening trying to make it work, followed advice from the developer posted in comments, still nothing... support is not responsive either. This is beyond frustrating... I have the latest iOS version, sprocket is charged, I reset the device, I “forget” the device and restart my phone - nothing, I’m still getting “Problem with setup” error after the final step, and I cannot connect printer to my phone... please fix this issue!!!

I recently just purchased the HP Sprocket and I’m beyond happy! The pictures do print out a little less crisp than I thought but I still love them! I really hope they bring back the Polaroid border !!!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I also wish there were a way to make a collage within HPSprocket rather than having to use a different app to do so. The stickers are super cute and I love that you’re able to make your own, best update in my opinion!! I hope they add more stickers and borders or make it to where if you like a border but don’t like the color you’re able to change it or change the thickness of the border and so on. Thank you to the people who developed HPSprocket without you this wouldn’t be possible! Enjoy your printing everyone!!! 😁

When I first bought it, the pictures were a bit blurry and the color isn’t like the picture on my iPhone. Then I updated the firmware software; but it isn’t working. My phone is updated, my sprocket 2 in 1 is updated. So I don’t understand why it isn’t working find? I connected customers services and they can’t help you. Which made me think “why have customer service if your not going to help the customer out?” I want to return mine but I do LIKE it a lot. I love the small pictures; which is the reason why I got it. I just only wish they can resend the firmware software and make it better? Or at least have the time to help out the customer without “CLOSING The Session/ Chat Room.” I don’t want to return it but might have to if this problem doesn’t get fix.

I’m not a review writer type person but I’m gonna do this one to help my indecisive people out there ! I’m one of those people who can’t ever make up their minds and HAS to do research before buying a product , this printer is voted the best for 2020! And for a reason !! I love mine so much ! It prints the pictures almost EXACTLY how it looks on your phone (and if it doesn’t come out perfect the first time try editing it a little lighter or darker ) I love the fact that you can edit and add borders ! It’s so much fun ! It’s super quick and easy to use ! I highly recommend

This is the most frustrating app/item ever. It wouldn’t work when I first bought it. Then in December it started working. Had fun with it. Then there was a firmware update and Boom! Doesn’t work. I loaded the firmware update just fine. But now my iPhone X says that the device “is not supported”. If you can’t connect over Bluetooth, it Will. Not. Print. I’ve tried everything. Reinstalled HPSprocket , retried the Bluetooth, even tried finding the firmware update again. Nothing. Just nothing. And no support. So I have a nice Sprocket paper weight now.

UPDATE!
Tried one more time-had to “forget” Sprocket, restart my phone, and redo the Bluetooth connection to the Sprocket, but it WORKED! So happy I can print again!

I love this little photo printer, but after the most recent update my Sprocket will not even connect to HPSprocket . There is a new option that says if I have an older model I can connect it a different way, but I’ve still had no luck. It’s extremely frustrating that this device I spent good money on simply doesn’t work because HPSprocket is malfunctioning. Please fix the bugs and release another update.

Update: I tried everything the developer suggested and my Sprocket still will not connect. It finally found the printer but said their was a problem with the set up. I have one of the older models but it should still be able to connect to HPSprocket as it did before the last update. Please fix the bugs on your end and release another update.

I have been using HPSprocket and the printer for months! Then they came out with a new update and changed HPSprocket and now HPSprocket will no longer register that my printer exists. The printer connects via Bluetooth to my phone, I gave it access to my phone.... nothing app says nothing is there. I uninstalled HPSprocket and reinstalled HPSprocket then restarted my phone... still won’t connect to HPSprocket . I have done everything that could possibly be thought of to make this work. This is extremely disappointing, the device is less then a year old and pretty much doesn’t work anymore with the changes to HPSprocket .
I don’t know what you did to mess up HPSprocket ... but I hope you can fix it because this is just disappointing.

I bought the sprocket when it first came out. And loved it. Then haven’t touch it for a couple months and needed it again. And now it won’t connect to HPSprocket because I think it is updated to the new 2nd edition one that came out. Thinking that may be the cause went and bought the 2nd edition. Now I’m trying to connect it and it connects to Bluetooth and configures. And when it tells me to go to the next screen to select”sprocket 200” and then nothing shows up for me to select and won’t connect fully for me to print.... this is really annoying. If I can’t figure out how to connect it by next week. I’m returning it.

I am a big fan of the sprocket. I chose to get the Sprocket 200 as an update to the sprocket I already had. I made this purchase bc the sprocket was not connecting to the sprocket app with the new user interface. I am having so many connectivity issues, even with the new sprocket. The new app layout is very inconvenient, and requires me to reconnect the Sprocket 200 through a 4 step process. Each time load in a new packet of photos. It disconnects (even in the middle of printing), and HPSprocket requires me to wait 30 seconds to a minute to reconnect it again. This is a huge pain. The new aesthetic to HPSprocket layout is pretty- but the function and practicality using it requires much more time (and emotional expense). I am frustrated!! The new app needs work, so far it is a huge downgrade!!!!

I got the Sprocket 2 in 1 for Christmas and it immediately didn’t work. I tried for several hours to get it to work and googled everything and nothing works. Right when I turn it on, it immediately starts blinking red, which means it’s in an error state right when I turn it on. When I try to print, it says that the lid is open and I have redownloaded HPSprocket , restarted my Sprocket, and tried updating it and nothing has worked. I was extremely excited to get this as a gift, as I have read so many good reviews, and I am so annoyed and frustrated with my Sprocket, especially since it was expensive. If anyone has anyway to help me please let me know, but as of now, it definitely do not recommend. My sister also got one and hers is doing the exact same thing, so it isn’t just mine.

Dear developer, Please restore the reveal feature to the sprocket printer, it was the single greatest reason my wife and I bought the device for our international trip. The printer by itself is a decent device but being able to print a photo that could “come to life” while holding the picture in your hand was brilliant. When the feature was removed it was under the reason of responding to customer feedback and to bring in newer features but nothing new or noteworthy has been done to replace or enhance the experience using the sprocket printer. So please bring the reveal feature back. Thank you for considering your customers real requests!

While HPSprocket was downloading I decided to read the reviews and I thought what am I getting into - many negative reviews.
I charged the HP sprocket, connected it to my iPhone, loaded the paper and looked for a photo to print. To my surprise it went so smooth I couldn’t believe it. I love it!
I made a family photo tree of every member including pets. Now I can’t wait until Xmas to show off my fabulous photo Xmas tree.
And instead of name tags on presents I put their picture on package.
I just can’t stop looking for photos and print.

Have tried it on two iPhones and on both it stops working after a couple of days. Phone says it’s connected via Bluetooth, but HPSprocket says it can’t find the printer. Even after app just asked for and received permission to communicate with it. Unreliable and frustrating.
After uninstalling and reinstalling app yet again it works, but color reproduction is bad - skin looks super red compared to original photo on phone, like people are all sunburned.
Update: HP kindly replaced my printer w a new one (still under warranty), but the unreliable connection remains a problem. Printing pics takes ages as I repeatedly reboot the printer and force quit HPSprocket to get them to stay connected. Colors are also still bad.

I’ve always wanted a
Sprocket, the very first time I seen it advertised. I was a little reluctant about purchasing a little printer for such a large amount of money. I waited over a year to see if the price of the Sprocket notched down a little, but nope! The price stated the same. (((((What a bummer))) needless to say I finally gave in and purchased at full price. Had it for a year or so and hardly ever used it. Finally used it today to print pictures for my daughter’s room to place pictures on her fairy lights. The pictures are small & cute.

So frustrated - after waiting for the arrival of my new Sprocket - I find that it will not function with IOS 11.2. I’ved tried everything I could from the HP website & the internet. I get the notification re Firmware update, but it gets stuck on “... sending firmware upgrade to Sprocket printer...” White led just keeps blinking. Please HP - fix this problem!!!!!

Update: Well done Sprocket! With in hours of my negative posting, you posted the update to your App. I am happy to report my Sprocket is working beautifully! 5 Stars!

I have absolutely no problem with the sprocket or HPSprocket . I have the 2 in 1, and I find it so convenient! The film is also pretty cheap for its quality; and the fact that it has a sticky side is wonderful! You can easily make collages or personalize whatever you want!

You can also connect to friends’ sprockets! This makes it super easy to literally print whatever you want, wherever you want, WHENEVER you want. I am absolutely in love with this product. Everything runs super smoothly and I love it so much.

There is a slider on the side of the sprocket where the charger is, and that’s how you turn it on. Some people get confused that there isn’t a button to turn it on.

I was not paid or anything to write this. This is a genuine response from a very happy costumer. I really strongly suggest this product (they also work great as gifts)!!

This doesn’t seem to work with iPhone. I have the 8s running iOS 11.2. Bought the printer yesterday and was able to connect to Bluetooth and discover the device in HPSprocket , and check the settings on the printer from HPSprocket , but when I print, it just flashes the white LED light, then doesn’t do anything. Shows that the picture is added to the queue, but won’t print. Tried to upgrade the firmware - no luck. It is communicating with the sprocket, but won’t install the firmware. I’ve tried all the solutions recommended - reset the printer, power down the printer, remove the Bluetooth device, reset the iPhone, reconnect....no luck. Anyone at all have any luck connecting this printer to an iOS 11.2 device? Taking this back today.

I just received my my printer and I can’t even use it unless I downgrade to iOS 11. So disappointed. I was really looking forward to using it. I absolutely do not want to go through the trouble of having to download iTunes to my computer (I never use it, the kids use it for homework and gaming). Please update soon. I’m returning my printer until then. I’m the least tech savvy person ever. I don’t have time to figure out how to downgrade my phone. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

I love this printer. However, after the lastest iOS update it no longer works. I spent a lot of time with HP support and they don't listen. They will tell you the same steps the replies here in the reviews are telling us to review and none of it works. Just look at the pages on their support forum listing the same problem over and over and their "solution". They did admit that it doesn't work on iOS 8 either and they are waiting for a fix from Apple.

Don't bother with them or this printer until they fix it. They won't admit they messed up and won't listen when they tell you to rested the device and phone and you've explained you've been there and done that at least three times.

Update:
HP contacted me a few days later. They asked that I update HPSprocket . They were quick to resolve the bug that wasn’t allowing HPSprocket to connect to the sprocket. Thank you! I am amazed how quickly they resolved the issue!!! I love my sprocket and I thought It wasn’t going to work anymore. Again, thank you for your prompt response and great customer service!!!!! 🥰

With the new app update, HPSprocket states, “ we’ve looked and looked— we’re still looking! But we can’t find sprocket.”

I’ve never had any issues with it before. When I check my iPhone Bluetooth settings it states that it’s connected to sprocket. However HPSprocket doesn’t seem to find the connection. Is there perhaps a bug fix to this?
