So Frustrating!

Honestly do not waste your time here. It would take less time to go see your regular doctor. I am not normally one to review since I’m pretty patient and understand things happen but wow this has been an awful experience! There’s been so much run around.
There’s no quick explanation I can give, so here’s the full story:
When they first called, I couldn’t hear anything on the other line. No big deal, I get that glitches happen. But when I got a call saying they’d tried calling back and I wasn’t answering when the doctor called, I started to get a little irritated. I wasn’t getting any calls. They called later to give me the same speech. I was like please just connect me since obviously they’re not getting through. When I was connected I could barely hear the doctor, so I wasn’t even sure who I was talking to. He seemed to get irritated with me, and then just prescribed me something, I’m not sure what, and hung up. Mind you, I’m at work while this is all going down. I have to keep getting up from my desk on a very busy day to take care of this. Then, my phone starts absolutely blowing up. Call after call. I reject them because I’m very busy and tired of the back and forth, but they keep calling. After about 8 rejected calls I answer. And of course, there’s nobody on the line. Never never using HealthJoy again. Horrible experience.

Tele doctor a waste of my time

Tele doctor reviewed my emergency room diagnosis along with some other past medical history documentation and suggested to me that the ER doctor missed putting me on the steroid and the painkiller along with the antiviral for shingles. I’ve been in extreme pain and utterly exhausted even after consuming 1000 mg per day of caffeine. HealthJoy does not even offer my insurance ID card but it provides all of the other plan information to the point where I could quote you the cost for a specific procedure but again no ID cards. Huge shortfall for any client or human resources department. The Tele doctor told me to go to an urgent care and get a prescription for a steroid and a shingles specific painkiller but none of that information saves to the completed doctor call task on HealthJoy . The urgent cares think I’m crazy and begging for pain meds thanks for making me look like a moron and junkie.

Ridiculously Not Helpful

HealthJoy is pointless. It seems to have removed everything that was helpful to me. I primarily used it for like a digital card and to check my deductible (even though there was a delay with updated). Today I went to look, and the button I usually press for that was gone. When I contacted support, they said the record was saying my plan doesn’t start until March 1st. Very false. It started on January 1st, and I’ve used the features of HealthJoy with this new plan, and only with this plan have I used HealthJoy. Utterly ridiculous.
I had a delay getting that stuff in the beginning too. I don’t understand why HealthJoy was even recommended by the company liaison. I will be trying the actual insurance company’s app, or using browser.
I definitely don’t trust HealthJoy at this point.

Awful, not 24 hours by any stretch

Their normal/best response times according to their own people is around an hour. Daughter got sick on Sunday, took them two+ hours to have someone call for her. I told them three times to switch from my cell to my home phone because of the delay, and they never did. Called the original number THREE times. Then when I got sick today — Monday evening, not exactly a high traffic time generally — and they keep me “in line” for over 4 hours, and still never had a doctor. The best they could say was to try again in the morning when I might, maybe, only have two hours wait then (in addition to the 14 hours they’re already saying needs to pass from my original request). They have no business advertising as 24 hours when they clearly aren’t.

Great overall app, some minor issues

I wish this was a free app for all because it’s been immensely helpful especially with a busy work schedule. I work in healthcare and know how difficult it is to navigate the system to find good quality providers and save money on prescriptions.
App flow is for the most part really streamlined. HealthJoy is convenient and easy to use with no glitches.
The only reason why I gave 4/5 stars is because when you submit a request and a person working on your request tries to contact you and asks you a question you can’t respond back to them - HealthJoy just doesn’t let you. I would like to see this changed as I think it’s important to be able to provide further clarification if needed during the search or task I have requested so optimal results are achieved.

I love HealthJoy

HealthJoy has brought so much convenience to my life, and saved me so much time and stress. I’m so grateful that it’s provided by my employer. The service saves money on medical stuff because there are many instances when you can use their telemedicine service instead of going to a doctor in person, and it has saved me personally a lot of money. They’ve also helped me find new in-network providers that can take new patients on short notice. This kind of thing literally saves me hours of my life that I would’ve spent on the phone. There’s so much frustration dealing with doctors and health insurance, and this app makes it all easier.

Great app

I needed HealthJoy a long time ago. I have been able to get prescriptions refilled when my doctor went on vacation, medication for a sinus infection and a UTI. No one wants to wait a day to get an appointment and then drive to wait an hour to see a doctor for them to tell you what you already know- that you have a sinus infection or UTI. Then drive to the pharmacy to wait on them to give you the medication. this app had a PA call me, talked through my symptoms and called in a prescription to my pharmacy- all while I was at home! Took 1 hour total from the time I logged into HealthJoy until my pharmacy texted me they received my prescription!!!! I only want to use this app for now on.

I absolutely LOVE this app!!

I use it all the time. Not only will they schedule a teledoc appointment for me with a medical provider, they also contact my insurance company on my behalf to get answers to ANY questions that I may have. I just had them contact my insurance company to review a bill that I got from a provider. I received a VERY detailed response 2 days later and they offered to schedule a phone call appointment to discuss it further! It wasn’t necessary as their written explanation was so detailed. This saved me hours on the phone! I highly recommended downloading HealthJoy if your employer has elected this coverage for you!

Call 50 Pharmacies

Our doctor called in a prescription for our son but the local pharmacy did not have any in stock. In fact the pharmacy told us there was a shortage of this particular drug and it may be difficult to obtain. We called the doctor back to gain advice and was told to call 50 pharmacies and we should find it. Instead, I reached out to this app and their concierge did the research for us and identified a pharmacy that had the drug in stock. The footnote, our doc asked for the generic which was not available but the name brand (at a higher cost of course) was available. this app again assisted to make sure we paid only the deductible portion in accordance with our plan.

Honestly impressed by this app

This is the first time I’ve had a health insurance or health care app that is so useful. I am honestly impressed. I have used it to find several new doctors, I use the insurance card “wallet” as my keeper of insurance cards, as it’s intended, and it works well. The chat feature is really well designed and the progression of questions and responses are appropriate and well-structured. I think the only thing I would improve is that I don’t think the navigation within HealthJoy is super intuitive. I sometimes find myself clicking through random screens before I remember how to get to where I’m trying to go. Other than that little thing, this is an incredibly useful tool and I’m so glad I have it.

Immeasurably Invaluable

My insurance / workplace provides this app and it has been an amazing asset. Moving to a new state and starting a new job comes with enough challenges that getting going healthcare wise is intense. I was able to use this app to speak with a doctor to get my meds managed while I waited for an actual appointment with a steady provider. Further they helped me find said steady provider. My work has transferred our EAP to this app as well. While I have not had the need to utilize that yet, it is comforting to know the experience should be the same. The concierge staff is friendly and does their best to assist or give clear instructions on how to do about anything. They also evaluate your coverage to provide options that meet any conditions you have (price, distance, specialty, etc).

Using this app is truly a joy! It is an awesome perk I get with my job. As a new manager/ leader in my company, I have found it difficult to find time to make multiple phone calls to insurance and to doctor offices to make appointments. In this app, by communicating with one of their concierges/ reps, it literally only takes a few “clicks” and selections to find a provider and get scheduled with them. It also shows your payments/ copays in writing so there is much less guesswork and worry about surprise payments. I feel like I could never function without this app again!

So Simple and User Friendly

First time using HealthJoy and I spoke with a concierge regarding some specific medical need our whole family needs right now and worked with Andrea who was so very courteous!

I also used their bot, Joy, to find some other specialists my daughters need for their unique medical needs. Before, when finding a specialist, I researched each one by one myself before making appointments to see their reviews and whatever else info I could find to help me feel I found the appropriate provider. Now, this app does this all for me by not only looking at providers’ reviews but their proximity to where I live, hospital affiliation, and checking to see if they are in-network as well and even offers to make appointments for me! This makes it so nice for a busy full-time working and full-time homemaker mama!

I definitely recommend HealthJoy!

Great app for introverts

Quick responses, real people, 24/7 support (as far as I can tell). I love that I don’t have to call anyone, this is the next best thing to having mom make my appointments for me. They have my insurance information on file so they don’t have to ask me a bunch of questions that I can never remember the answers to. Since there’s always someone available at any time of day, I can just open this app in the middle of the night when I suddenly remember that I need a doctor/dentist/etc appointment, tell them what I need and they’ll make the appointment for me the following day. Also, I can always ask them if I’m covered for something specific first and they’ll research and let me know. It’s great!

Insurance is overwhelming and most of the time I don’t even know what questions to ask, let alone where to go to find them. The chat feature is so helpful! I can ask anything and they will reach out to my insurance and get the answers I need. It also schedules my appointments and helps me find in network doctors. It’s also very handy to have all the insurance cards there in one place. One thing that would be helpful would be to see the back of the insurance card. The pharmacist was asking for some info on the back of my insurance card and I wasn’t able to see it.

The this app App has made accessing my employer provided benefits so much easier. All of my benefits are listed and accessible via the this app app, and there are tons of additional solutions that I have access to via the this app app such as an EAP, a MSK solution, a rewards program, and more — all of which my employer offers to me at no cost, as part of our benefits package. Highly recommend this app for driving engagement in current benefit programs, guiding members to the right care, and saving members money at the place of care both virtually, and in person.

Feature Request: Front and Back Image of Insurance Card in wallet

Recently , I went to urgent care and was asked to provide a front and back picture of my insurance card. I tried to retrieve the card through my Health Joy app, but it turned out they needed the back of the card to access information on claims submission. As a result, I had to create an account on my insurance provider's website to get the necessary information. It would be more convenient if HealthJoy 's wallet feature included both the front and back images of the insurance card.

Amazing, 100% recommend saves me so much money

I absolutely love HealthJoy so much!! I frequently get UTIs I usually have to go to my normal family doctor and each time I go even with my insurance it’s usually about $200. I learned about HealthJoy and my insurance covers doctors calls 100% so now I can get a prescription for free with no lab tests and waiting period and the prescription I need is available to pick up within 10 minutes, amazing!! HealthJoy saved me so much I am blessed to have found it. The doctors are amazing as well and are understanding and listen to your concerns. Everyone need health joy!

I never review apps but this one deserves it

I haven’t had health insurance since I lived with my parents so I have no idea how to find doctors, make sure they’re in-network, etc. HealthJoy made it so easy. I put in a request to find someone near me and they gave me a very detailed report of their efforts and why the person they recommended would be a good fit. They also offered alternative results if I need them. As someone that has no idea how to take care of their health but wants to start, HealthJoy has already helped in the first day I’ve used it.

As someone who just moved to US 4 years back it is still so difficult for me to navigate through my health requirements here. From knowing which provider accepts my insurance to knowing who are the best providers in my area to so much more. I really like how easy this app makes all these things and with less than 5 mins of effort I can tell then my requirements and within 24hr (and sometimes even faster) I get all the information I need to go ahead and setup my appointment. Timer saver, and no-hassle experience.

The most helpful app I have

I got a new job and they use HealthJoy for all the medical purposes and I absolutely love it. I love having the feature of saying I want to schedule a specific appointment and they search it for me and get it set it up for me and then I just get an email with a confirmation and it updates with my medical provider as well. The time that it takes to do it is so quick and every single worker I have interacted with on HealthJoy I’ve been absolutely amazing highly recommend I don’t know how I lived without this.

Love the App and the Service

In full transparency my husband works for the company. However, HealthJoy and the service have been so easy to use, helpful, and saved me a ton of time. We have used it for several telemedicine visits saving on time and money for doctors visits. I’ve used their medical billing review with fantastic results. I’ve used the insurance info lookup, the docto recommendations (and they even scheduled the appointment for me!). Just about every feature of HealthJoy I have used and been very satisfied with. I can’t recommend this app enough!

HealthJoy has made insurance questions an absolute breeze. Instead of being overwhelmed and not knowing where to look or how to start, the in app chat feature continuously blows me away - if a team member can't answer your question right then and there, they'll reach out to your insurance and find the details within a day. This has been so helpful to me, I've learned my plan covers out of pocket mental health providers, covers breast pumps and where to find them, and am currently waiting to hear back on pregnancy/birthing class coverage. HealthJoy is like a sigh of relief for anyone who feels overwhelmed learning about their insurance plan.

What a work benefit!

This has been an amazing benefit-not just for myself but for my whole family. I’m especially impressed because my children do not fall under my work insurance but yet this service still covers all of my dependents. On a hard day when I found myself with two sick children and wanting to avoid an in office visit- the telehealth option with a medical provider was incredible and I was able to get the care I needed for my child. This saved time, money, and stress!

Game changing app

I’m young and don’t know anything about my insurance, I pretty much have it Incase I get hurt or I develop a health issue. I actually used it for the first time and chatted a real person who asked what I was looking for, any specific criteria and special conditions I may have. They only look at people that fit your plan and best quality, they give you an estimate for cost and even help schedule the appointment if needed. It’s so nice letting people who know all the insurance stuff take over and I can just go to my appointment and not worry about anything!

Infected eye

My son had an eye infection very similar to what he had last year. I was about to make an appointment at The Little Clinic but instead used my this app app. I submitted a photo of his eyes and within 10 min had a doctor call me and chat about the issue. He sent a prescription for antibiotics right to my pharmacy and all I had to do was drive to the pharmacy instead of physically going to the doctor and pharmacy. This is my first time using this app as well. It was super convenient for this situation. I highly recommend using this app!

HealrhJoy Teledoc experience

It was amazing. Have foot injury. Went through the this app app and it recognizes my info so very little time with questions. Couple of minutes after placing request a live person called to verify it was me. I then took pictures of my foot and uploaded. No more than 10 minutes and my phone rang with Dr. Carr. Had consultation. He was wonderful. Told me what I already knew ( needed xrays). Very Kind and understanding. Called in RX to my pharmacy. Whole experience took about 20 minutes from the comfort of my office!!!!! Highly recommend this service. Thank you Dr. Carr!

My employer recently switched insurance companies which led to Health Joy being recommended. I was skeptical at first but they are incredibly helpful. I have been able to find 2 in-network providers, at a low cost, all within 5 minutes of chatting with a representative. They will schedule the appointments for you and tell you up front costs. I have been very pleased with HealthJoy. Thanks to them making everything so seamless I have seen an eye doctor and dentist for the first time in 5+ years!

Efficient and Recommended

My mother told me about HealthJoy for our health insurance plan and I had never used it until recently. I had noticed I was being overcharged for copays at my local doctors office and was on hold for half an hour before remembering I had HealthJoy! I submitted some pictures of my bills and within a few days they had accessed my claims, gotten in touch with the office billing department for me, and have notified me of the errors made. They got me a refund for everything I was overcharged for and it took me no longer than 5 minutes to provide the info they needed without making any calls in the process. They have been efficient in helping me find providers in my network and answering any and all questions I’ve had. I really recommend HealthJoy and I believe it will save lots of people time and unnecessary frustration/confusion!!
