I downloaded CalendarOp2 because I much prefer a calendar view where I can see the whole month at once. HOWEVER, there are a couple caveats that are driving me to find another option. The main issue is that everything I’ve added from previous months disappears. For example if I wrote in a doctor appt and want to go back a few months and check what date it was, CalendarOp2 has erased it. Please tell me if there is a way to keep this from happening!!
Another issue is that I travelled overseas in a different time zone. While abroad for 3 weeks I added in many appointments for my entire family to be completed upon return. When I returned home, all of those appointment times were messed up, because CalendarOp2 somehow converted them to the time zone I was previously traveling in rather than saving them in the format I entered.
These are annoyances that I would love solutions to, otherwise I’ll be looking for a different calendar.

Location address does not pop up automatically
Previous titles are not saved in memory and have to type in repeat events manually. I’m not talking about events that repeat certain days like every Tuesday. I’m talking about events that are not decided on until each event occurs. Like my Book Club. The dates are not decided until after each Club Meeting takes place. It could be 6 weeks, 7 or two months.
In other calendars if I start to type Babysit Grandchild the calendar will populate auto. Then I just change what I need to. Time saver.

I love the default layout of CalendarOp2. I love how it shows in text what you have for that day. Not just a dot like the iOS calendar. That was the biggest reason I downloaded it. I just wish two things. One, it showed the days date on CalendarOp2 icon. I know it does now, but it shows it as a notification badge. Anyone who likes a clean looking phone and not a bunch of notification badges every where will agree. Like today’s date is Dec 30th. It will show a 30 red notification badge.
Number 2 issue is it doesn’t sync with my iOS mail. Yes it syncs with my iOS calendar which syncs with my iOS mail but the point of CalendarOp2 is to not use the iOS calendar anymore. If they fixed those two issues. It would be a perfect app in my opinion.

I like the monthly display; overall a nice app. I would like it more if the date appeared on the icon itself rather than as a badge, and if it showed the day of the week.
Also, the time zones in the settings need to be weeded out and reorganized. For example, on a quick inspection, America seems to mean North, Central, and South America all together. Boise, Cancun (I assume it means Cancún), Caracas, Chihuahua, Chicago, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Vancouver are all listed as in America. There’s Boise but not St. Louis or Jefferson City. There’s North Dakota but not South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, or many other US states.
Overall CalendarOp2 works fine, but it really needs some fine-tuning.

I don’t use Apple calendar, it is just too simplistic. I use Google. Which so far is the best calendar I’ve seen. But with my work schedule, my daughter’s school schedule and my personal schedule all on my Google calendar. My Google calendar started to look cluttered & I started to feel overwhelmed. I needed a separate calendar just for my personal daily life schedule. CalendarOp2 will do for now.. Also, there are no color option to personalize. I guess you have to pay to be able to do that. At least have one OR two extra colors for free.

I use CalendarOp2 because it has specific features I want, but it’s overall not great. Creating calendar events just isn’t as easy as the default calendar app, so I still create new events there. The day view doesn’t space things out based on their time, so I still use the default calendar for that. It also has a weird issue where events sometimes flicker on the screen.
What CalendarOp2 does do well is have a month view where you can see all of your events and being able to view a day’s details in a small pop-up without needing to leave the month view. That’s what I like from it. I also like that it scrolls vertically instead of having horizontal month pages like a lot of other calendar apps.
CalendarOp2 for me is specifically a month overview app that I use alongside the default calendar app, but is not fully-featured or refined enough to be a complete replacement.

CalendarOp2 is very user friendly and the best that I have seen so far. However, I would like to see a landscape option for better viewing. My biggest objection is that I cannot eliminate the holidays that are not relevant to me. For example, Cinco de Mayo and the first day of Ramadan both fall in May 5. Since I can’t manually remove these notifications, there is less space for my personal appointments.

I use Pocket informant for my weekly planning, but it is too complicated and thus slow to load for the quick “what’s up today or this month”. So I’ve been looking for an app tp do this - OP.2 is good enough to do the job. I say good enough because it is missing a few things: Needs landscape mode / ipad version. Would be nice to incorporate reminders.
While the display is good enough for the month view, I love the concept of tapping on a date in month view to bring up a list of all events for that day. Great built-in help documentation. Opens quickly and the interface is clean with large obvious buttons to do what you need to to. Robust repeat options. Just wish it had landscape....

A good basic calendar can be hard to find. Thank you. Very quick to browse through and super fast to add an appointment / event. Good selection of options such as default alert settings. Would like to see color bars or color text options for event titles. Would also like to have sound options for the alerts.

I have searched for a simple easy calendar and this is almost the one. What is missing is a landscape mode for my I-Pad. I would also love to see a note page for those things you need a reminder for that is not for a specific day. Lastly if there were some color choices for various events, such as yellow highlight for work, Red highlight for kids events, Purple highlights for appointments etc. other than that I do love this calendar! It is easy to read the entire month as well as see what the events for a specific day! Hopefully some updates are coming soon!

I am enjoying the calendar. It is straightforward and clean and I LOVE the search button that so many calendars often miss. It is so important to me when trying to find out my children’s last physical, etc. However, I wish there was a bit more of color choice for the calendar or some type of stickers (just something to make it more fun and personal).

Great app, simple & clean with just enough features without trying to do more than just be a calendar. One of my favorite features is the ability to open event location info in Google Maps instead of Apple’s craptastic Maps. I use my phone on Apple Carplay & this is super helpful for that use case.
Well thought out with a clean interface. My only request would be - can we get a dark theme? :)

I’ve probably downloaded every calendar app that is available and this one is it! The perfect one. Simple, functional, and easy to use. I love that I can see on the calendar more than just a dot and like the ability to have multiple reminders. If I was to add anything it would be the ability to have colors for background but that is not necessary at all.

I got tired of being alerted to holidays that don’t affect me.
So I downloaded all the Calendar apps that had a lot of reviews. Most require a subscription, one wanted $29/yr!
This calendar is very customizable. The only thing I would modify or add, is show the current month on CalendarOp2 face (when closed on the desktop).
by MarkandRain
This is exactly what I wanted. The layout is great and easy to view upcoming appointments. The only problem is CalendarOp2 icon does not automatically update the date. I have to open CalendarOp2 then minimize it to update the number on the icon. Even if I open it and then close it, it will not update the date. I have to minimize it to update the date on the icon.

I rarely leave reviews but this one deserves it. So satisfied with the way the calendar is set up! Use this for work and it has kept things so organized for me. I don’t even use the Apple calendar anymore. I love that you can see the words displayed on each boxes/dates. The notes section is my favorite. You can add more details about that day! I do wish we have couple more colors option but simple is good sometimes. Other than that, it’s the best calendar app I have ever downloaded.

Just had it for several hours and like the simple features. I wish there was: *wish there were more color options in making events *wish there was an easier way to switch bt the different calendars *in another calendar app they had an option where the event for that day would move or vibrate to indicate importance *wish the month in the top right corner was more bigger or centered or bold. Love it.
Update: still love it but wish there was a widget

Keeping my school and part-time work schedules handy at all times on my mobile has been an absolutely positive experience. I’ve used colors and formats all to my preferred methods of keeping dates, time, and specific information easily. The best part is that It’s A Grown Up Calendar! There’s no silly animal characters or funny looking people showing how much “fun” it is to keep appointments, holidays and dental exam reminders. This calendar is straightforward a calendar. What you make of it is entirely up to you. Best mobile calendar ever!

The review by DelRayMarc is spot on. I had not entered new data into the native calendar on my iPhone since the recent iOS update until today.
I couldn’t figure out why I was only seeing dots on dates with something scheduled, no more color coded bands or text. Correction, IF you tap a dot, then the specific events display. So now a two step process rather than a quick glance.
And if you have a week with something scheduled each day, you have to tap each dot until you find the event you were looking for. Not only extremely annoying, but illogical.
After I installed CalendarOp2 and opened it, the first thing it asked is if it could access the native iCalendar. Gave it permission, and VOILA!, up popped all my events, color coded, with text labels, soba quick glance tells me what happens when on a specific week.
Thumbs down to the Apple engineers who came up with such a retrograde to the native calendar, and big hug to the developer of CalendarOp2! Five stars!!!

This is such a great app! Syncs your iOS Calender and the layout is way better then the Apple Calender. See all your appointments from the full month view unlike all those little dots on the Apple iOS Calendar. Even better they just updated the icon to show the current date or week of they year...a personal request I made for the development team!!! They actually improved it just for me...(I know it was was for you guys too) download and enjoy.

All these request for more features . Please do not change CalendarOp2 it is just perfect the way it is. I believe most of us bought or downloaded Op 2 just for that reason. Simple is hard to find if you want complicated there are many out there that can do the job

I use this all the time on my iPhone because it can have one like night banner over a multi day event. Makes it SO much easier to read the calendar, such that I can’t get understand why all calendar apps don’t do this. Too bad no iPad version, I’d use it there too.
