This simple little app was responsible for the worst dismissal in our schools history. There are numerous glitches within FetchKidsForSchoolsParents and we should have taken note of the low review score. If your school's administrators want to use this service/app for mass dismissal be sure they have a backup plan. FetchKidsForSchoolsParents will not work and you will have lots of angry parents. Our small school suffered significant harm to our image and credibility due to this little app.
Take note that all the positive reviews are about the same length and written in similar verse... Sound familiar? They are using bots to dilute the poor reviews. Read further down and see the problems with this service.
When someone else does drop off, both kids are never dropped off successfully. Then when I go to pick up, I’m not able to alert both teachers because it says someone else is still dropping off one of the kids. Also- why isn’t there a drop off va pick up button. It alarming when it says my kids are picked up when I’m expecting them to be dropped off. Last, it often logs in and out 3 or 4 times during my 20 minute commute. It will say one of my kids has been picked up and I always panic that the wrong person picked up my kids!
FetchKidsForSchoolsParents is complete trash. There needs to be a way of simply scheduling a pickup at a certain time, for a certain parent, for a certain car, on-demand, an hour before pickup. I don't need an app to track my location in real time to let the school know when I will be arriving. I'm uninstalling and simply calling the school until the UI and options improve.
FetchKidsForSchoolsParents is awful. There are too many steps to let the school know you are there to pick up your child. Requiring a parent to enter via the maps when leaving to go pick is not a good user experience. I have professional experience as a UI expert and marketing strategist. FetchKidsForSchoolsParents is not friendly for those who are not tach savvy.
FetchKidsForSchoolsParents is complete trash. Who wants someone monitoring where you are at all times? Not me. Privacy is a huge issue right now and FetchKidsForSchoolsParents
Claims it only alerts the school when you are close and that it doesn’t save your location info. Sound familiar? Same song and dance that other apps have claimed and then been fined for. Hate FetchKidsForSchoolsParents , hate the fact that my son’s school wants to use this. Note: if you do not turn on location services, app doesn’t work. I can’t have location services on because of my job position, so more reasons why FetchKidsForSchoolsParents is trash. Would give negative stars if possible.
FetchKids responded to my review, however it wholly failed to address the privacy issue. It does track your location (GPS is a tracking tool to know your exact location in order to inform the school how far out you are), and it failed to respond to the issue of location services being turned off. After the response, I would rate FetchKidsForSchoolsParents as a negative 5 (-5).
The interface is atrocious. So many clicks. Everything is hidden behind obscure icons and selections. No loading notice - just circle of death and a grey screen.
There should be a way to save login information in the Apple keychain so I don’t have to type it in every time. Contacted support once and was told to set auto logout to never and that didn’t change anything. I would also like to be able to set it to open directly to the dashboard so I don’t have to see the announcement page which our school never uses. These would save a lot of time since we use FetchKidsForSchoolsParents every day.
We just started using FetchKidsForSchoolsParents at our daycare and it has worked quite well. On the first day the school implement it, I followed the instructions and my kid was ready when I pulled up. Seems to be efficient and easy to use.
App was updated recently and now it’s even better because with the student schedule. No more calls to the schools. I can let the school know when my child is going to be out or late. It’s really helpful to see the full calendar and to know the school can see it too Love this new feature!
Love using FetchKids. My children are ready when I get to their school for pickup and waiting times have been reduced a lot. I also like getting notified when others on my pickup team pickup my children. This is an important security feature and gives me greater peace of mind, since I always know where my kids are. 5 stars!!!
I have to say this is one the best apps there is. Easy to upload all my information and best communication tool to let the school know if I am late picking up. When I pick my kid, my kid is there at the location where he needs to be picked up and he gets in right away ...no waiting all...
FetchKidsForSchoolsParents makes my life easier for me and my family. the safety of my children for school pick up is extremely important. I’m glad the school uses FetchKidsForSchoolsParents. It’s simple and safe. My school used to use radios and it was a hassle. We use our phones for everything else in life. Why not the safety of our children.
My daughter is in an after school program and I usually pick her up on foot after work (in NYC). The fact the school knows when I’m almost there makes getting my kid so much faster.
