Unable to access WorldTransitMaps while traveling

This used to be the best app out there for finding train times and routes in Japan. You could download the map and use it offline (wouldn’t update times but you could see routes), and everything would display in WorldTransitMaps .

Now, if I want to see routes and schedules, WorldTransitMaps gives me a link to the ekispert website which renders WorldTransitMaps absolutely useless. I don’t know the reasoning behind this change, maybe an M&A, but I’m deleting WorldTransitMaps and looking for an alternative.

This doesn’t work. It’s stuck on one location. Can’t change location. Can’t close out add cause the X bottom is unreachable in the upper left corner. Slow sluggish. One star and delete.

Very complete information but basic functionality like how to get from A to B is hard to find. Fine for going from my location to somewhere, but not a all helpful going from two places where you aren’t. Would have thought this would be a primary function of an application like this. Really don’t know what the thought behind this was.

Great easy to read offline maps.
Except when I updated, now it crashes on launch:-(

I purchased a JR Pass for Japan. If this had the ability to try and push JR travel lines for the sake of this pass, it would be perfect! I would pay for the ability to do this!

Really laggy on iPhone. And it takes forever for it to find the station you’re looking for on their roster.

This is a very polished and easy to use map of Japan’s intricate railway network and good for travelers and holiday makers alike. It can help decide routes using conventional lines in Japan more easily compared to Apple Maps which normally give you the more expensive route via the Shinkansen. My one concern is WorldTransitMaps badge on my screen is slightly cropped on the left and top sides, just a minor complaint but I just like the presentation of my apps. Cheers!

Great app to help get around Tokyo and even points out free wifi hotspots around each station so you can get connected and get to your next destination after exploring. Would be awesome if it included info on all the different exits from the larger stations so you can meet up with people easier.

I love to travel and use WorldTransitMaps fairly often! I just wish there was a way to save routes so you don’t have to constantly find the places. If that’s possible, that would be a great upgrade to WorldTransitMaps 🤞

I have only half way used it once, right now, but it is accurate! Will have to explore WorldTransitMaps more to give more of a review. Idk if it gives you a map of the stations to track yourself while you’re using the navigation.

It might be a little complicated at the beginning but once you get used to it... it becomes VERY helpful!!

I've been using this during my stay in Japan and it can really help plan your destination!

One addition that may help it become more helpful is if it can show you the route on the actual map!

A great (and imho superior) alternative to HYPERDIA. After downloading the area you wish to search it’s a matter of First station and last station and then choose from your fast, cheap, or #transfers. Set arrival or departure time. Includes JR and city rail maps. Includes direction of travel, platform numbers, and links to google maps of stations which have exit numbers also. As a complete novice to the system it’s been a godsend.

Fast, accurate, easy to read. Works well.

Rail Map has been very useful in Japan, once you understand the transit systems. WorldTransitMaps is pretty easy to use.

The Tokyo subway lines are world famous for their design, speed and efficiency, and they are the best way to see everything the city has to offer. WorldTransitMaps makes it all easy to navigate, and is especially helpful if you want to find the fastest or simplest route..

Very helpful during our trip to Japan. Excellent train information and showing various routes and pricing. Only thing I would suggest the ability to state you have the Japan Rail Pass and for WorldTransitMaps to only show trains and routes that qualify.

WorldTransitMaps is my go to app for all Tokyo trail transit. It's truly reliable. It's very detailed and provides a view of all of Tokyo's confusing but fun transit systems.
