What a cool company

I used IndegoBikeShare when I was visited Philly. I was mostly in City Center so the convenience of have a docking station on every corner was great! I ran into a few problems with docking the bikes. Like how my bike would be fully docked and locked but IndegoBikeShare wouldn’t recognize it and continue to charge me for my time. I called tech support and they were so nice and accommodating. They told me I didn’t need to call if I didn’t wanted that they have a number to text that is just as convenient. Other than that, using the bikes was a great experience. When I left Philly, I guess I selected a renewing service with the bikes that I wasn’t aware of and called tech support to cancel. Every time I’ve called Indego, they have been nothing but nice and easy to work with. They refunded me my money and I left with a great experience. I don’t usually leave reviews but after using Lime, Lyft, and Rider services, I think I’m in love with Indego. They have a few kinks but overall, I am throughly impressed!

Never Make Apps Again

The entire development team for this “app” should be fired and then sued. I don’t even know where to begin with the broken and ugly areas of this dysfunctional piece of trash. Do I begin at the fact that when I open IndegoBikeShare it suggests that I download IndegoBikeShare ? Do I start with delivering the message that 2007 called and wants its app back? Do I start by pointing out that this “application” is nothing more than a crappy web browser? Do I begin with its broken API and authentication problems? I can’t even create an account much less login or pay for a rental bike. My friend had to ride on the back of one of the bikes with me because of how broken this so called “app” is. I’m surprised, given Apple’s standards of quality for what is allowed in IndegoBikeShare Store, that IndegoBikeShare even passed their QA approval process. Imagine being a company, and designing an app you so obviously have never used yourselves. Sad, just sad.

Amazing Bikes

Yesterday was my first time riding the Indego Bikes with my family and friends, we had no idea how to use to but eventually we researched how to use it and when we rented them to ride around the city it was fun. We all rented the electric bikes and rode from Drexel to Strawberry Mansion and from Strawberry Mansion to Drexel. We rode for 30 minutes then put it back and took a break then unlocked another bike after our break. It might not be the best price but it’s a good way to hangout with family and friends. So I would definitely recommend anyone to use the city bikes, sure it’s a lot of money, but you can just get the guest pass that expires the next day.

Quality Bike Share

Honestly shocked by the number of negative comments here, namely towards the customer service. I have had bikes not check back in correctly, minor billing mishaps, and questions all addressed within minutes through the text service. The bikes aren’t always the best, but it is a major city’s bike share, they can only do so much. Overall, the monthly pass pays for itself many times over if you compare it to SEPTA rates, especially if you have a regular commute. Definitely recommend, don’t be scared off by the negative comments.

App Review

First of all, I would like to say that using this service is a great way to get around the city. Though I use this service everyday, it can be unreliable because stations are often ‘unavailable’ and many times the bikes have maintenance issues that make riding difficult. Overall, I will continue to use this service but if another business like this came to Philly, I would absolutely try that. Not to mention, the customer service reps are a hit or miss in my experience. I’ve dealt with very rude agents who have handled issues poorly when I’ve called about station or bike related issues.

stranded

as much as I appreciate the convenience of these bikes, I don’t appreciate being stranded miles away from my home and being forced to spend more money on the subway or on an uber to get home, only because Indego doesn’t provide 24/7 support, or because IndegoBikeShare goes down. This has happened multiple times and with zero effort on their behalf to make things right. I have never been offered any monetary refund and yet time and time again I am left miles away from home only to be left once again paying for an alternate route home. It’s getting old.

Attitude and approach to customer service is frustrating

Customer service standard is cheap.
Indego is a miser. Will suspend your account for as little as a penny with no warning. Very inconvenient when your at the rack just about to start your work commute. Also, they won’t take my debit card for my transit spending account, issued by my employer. It works perfectly fine for Septa and NJT. Was told it only take cards issued by banks. Just a sneaky form of discrimination and exclusion. Customer service rep condescendingly kept repeating we only take cards fdic insured. They have more respect if it wasn’t a monopoly. I’ll still use as it’s the only city commuter bike service.

Unethical billing practice.

I subscribed for a month because my gf wanted to use their service. The company ended up continue to charge my card monthly for services that I never used. The company’s practice is somewhat unethical considering that I never received any email receipt from them suggesting that I was still paying for their monthly subscription. I just downloaded IndegoBikeShare trying to cancel my subscription. What’s worse is I cannot find a way to remove my credit card information from IndegoBikeShare after cancelling my subscription. Be careful when signing up for this service.

Would give them 0 stars if I could

While the convenience is the only real selling point, the bikes have issues 70% of the time, whether the gears don’t shift, the seat is falling off, or a tire is completely flat. And if by chance you find a working bike the station could be down and you may have to walk 5-10 blocks to find another working bike. I know they can afford to maintain the bikes/stations but they choose to do the bare minimum. They will also wait to rack up charges and hit you with ebike fees out of the blue. It’s really frustrating because there aren’t many alternatives.

Issues but great customer service

This was a great way to get around the city. I did have 3 issues, 2 where the bike did not check back in and I was unable to check out another bike and 1 where I was overcharged; however, the customer service department fixed all issues immediately. Very friendly staff.

Customer service is great

Didn't realize that you have to return the bike after 30 minutes with a daily pass... We got charged $20 in extra fees but Deb was a phenomenal help in getting our charges revoked when we called. Great customer service :)

Awesome customer service!!

Shoutout to Chris and Deb for being the most amazing people on earth! My friend and I got a day pass and didn’t realize we had to change bikes every 30 mins. These two from customer service cleared it up in 2 mins! Amazing service!!

Bad UX

Every other city has figured out how to do this seamlessly, IndegoBikeShare experience is terrible. Making and account and getting everything verified takes way longer than it should. Too many steps for renting a bike as a tourist for half a day.

By

Hidden fees

Charged my account over 50 dollars in e bike and over time fees for a ride the was an hour and 13 minutes. I called and got it refunded but I would’ve never gotten it back if I never reached out. It also caused an inconvenience because money was tight at that time. Used to love going riding with my girlfriend on these bikes, but now I can’t trust it. I might not be so lucky next time. Time to get my own bicycle, won’t be using again.

Easy and FUN!

The bike share program is awesome! Super easy to use. I saw so many things in Philly on my 30 minute bike ride. I've just downloaded IndegoBikeShare and look forward to using this method of transportation on a regular basis going forward. Thank you!

2 start for quick

2 stars for quick customer service
IndegoBikeShare is confusing and frustrating
Thanks for ruining our afternoon

Nothing is loading...

downloaded app after a year or so of not having it (i used to have a $15 monthly subscription) because i wanted to take a ride downtown and nothing shows up.
no docks, bikes at docks, nothing.
not sure what’s going on with app but it’d help if knowing if a station had bikes or not instead of potentially wasting time walking to dock.

Lost Item

I've been using this service for about a year now, easily accessible with three docks within two to three blocks of my home. I misplaced my keys, they were left in a docked bike. Instead of the user calling the company they hand them off to some law enforcement in University City.

I'm writing this review to be very clear, if you find an item on a bike please call the company. Do not hand over someone's property to a stranger they be local authorities or not. Everything is digital so it's easy for the company to trace everything and they can find who's item it is. Very inconsiderate, I lost my keys just think if you lost your keys?! Use better judgement Philadelphia is a major metropolitan area the keys could have been anyone's. The customer service just blew me off after while. Like we found the person, he handed off your keys so oh well.

Great app

Smooth functionality and very useful features. It would be good to add an option to be notified when bikes or docks become unavailable at a selected station. (I've frequently been en-route to a station only to find no docks or bikes.)

By

Essential for bike share users!

Makes planning trips much easier! I've used bike share (and their apps) in other cities, and this is by far the most useful.

Good show, Old Beans

What a great addition to an already well run and well supported bike share program. Philly should be proud.

Great app!

Yo, this is a really useful app for finding bikes, and I really like the color scheme!

Great service. I went all over the city, commuting daily to to UPenn Hospital from Brewerytown, and using it to sightsee. One big issue: I would be on a multi-hour ride, and several docking stations wouldn't unlock another bike after I checked in the one I was riding. Along Kelly Drive, I had to walk 1 1/2 miles to find a docking station that would unlock a bike. This could cause a problem for someone unfamiliar with the city.

I used Indigo in February while visiting Philly. I now have monthly bills despite canceling- as confirmed by the agent I spoke to in march. Stranger still, they are for different amounts. Please make them stop!
