No

CareFirstVideoVisit doesn’t allow you to contact anyone before or after your appointment. It also makes you enter your insurance information and then tells you what type of appointments are eligible for Medicare Advantage even though that isn’t your insurance. I don’t care what other insurance plans are eligible for. I have blue cross insurance and I’m using the blue cross app. Tell me what my insurance covers not what’s covered for a different plan. Also, I have a billing issue but there isn’t a way to fix it contacting the billing physician through CareFirstVideoVisit . I wouldn’t recommend CareFirstVideoVisit. Even when physicians email you, there is no way to respond because it’s from a “donotreply” email. I scheduled an appointment which the physician reviewed my health history and then canceled my appointment an hour before my appointment. I was told the appointment was double booked and I should see my previous provider. Only problem is my previous provider doesn’t have any appointments open and I have no way to contact anyone. CareFirstVideoVisit is probably great if you aren’t worried about repeat visits and being overcharged for appointments. I’d be careful though if you get prescribed medication from this appointment. If there’s any issues with the prescription you won’t have anyone to contact.

Video Visit was just great!!

I have tired of waiting for appointments with WALK-In clinics. Why do I need an appointment if it’s a walk-in clinic! 😃 Anyway, I saw Authrine Whyte, a family doctor, and she was awesome!
She was pleasant, and smiled while interacting with me. She actually listened and didn’t try to cut me short like plenty of doctors do. She gave me good advice, took time to look at my chart, and was quite knowledgeable about causes and gave me strategies to use. I will use Video Visit again should I need something from a doctor.
Wonderful experience!!

Some improvements needed but good

The one improvement really needed is to clarify pricing much earlier on. It expects you to wait till the very end of making the appointment to tell you how much you will pay with your plan if at all.
It’s nice that they can prescribe, I had a few symptoms and the least troublesome was a cough I was hardly coughing and dr sent me a prescription for cough pills.
It would be great to know what services they provide, would they prescribe blood testing ? Can I get a vaccine prescription?
Which services would they not be willing to do on phone ? I look forward to trying out their nutritionists
Great to have carefirst.

Amazing!

As a mom with three kids it’s not always easy to go see a dr. Much less if the appointment is for me! I found an amazing therapist on here which even though it’s been far over due, I’m great full for the service !

Also used urgent care which was amazing. The dr was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and save me from going out. Which honestly is perfection right now.

FURIOUS

I AM SERIOUSLY LIVID!!! I waited for a Dr. from 7:21pm until 4:34am. I NEVER saw the dr despite after 6hrs of waiting saying “you are the next patient”. My phone locked after 20% and I don’t know if that kicked me out or if just having not finally “seen” the doctor after so long kicked me out. Either way after ten hours, again TEN HOURS to see an online video chat doctor I still saw NO ONE and was asked to go back into waiting behind at least 8 other people. I am a mom of 3 boys, one of which is 8weeks old and nurses (breastfeeds). I don’t have TEN HOURS to sit on my phone after a long day, nursing, and now still having to get up with my other 2 boys in just a few hours with little to no sleep. I AM NOT HAPPY!!!

Will never use again

I tried CareFirstVideoVisit because I was having a difficult time reaching my doctors office. I logged in and saw this Male physical - I explained my issue and he did absolutely nothing for me. The prescription he gave me was useless - it did nothing for my issue and I was in pain. I called and inquired about a different prescription and he refused to reconsider. I paid to see another female physician - she prescribed something different and explain how to resolve my issue - that same day my symptoms got better and in two days I was no longer in pain.

I lodged a complaint and requested a refund for my copay and was told his care was appropriate. I beg to differ.

Awful!

This is awful. I waited three hours, and then when I was only 3 people left it said dr was no longer available, and it kicks you out instead of transferring to another doctor, so you have to wait hours again. I tried again another day, waited over two hours, saw a doctor for 3 minutes, and they never sent the prescription he said he was going to send (and it’s listed in my visit chart- he just never sent it to pharmacy. And There is no way to message the doctor you saw for emergency care, so I need to wait 2-3 hours again to see a different doctor to possibly be kicked out after waiting or them to also be incompetent.

Will use again 👍👍👍

WOW
This is great!
Lots of doctors to chose from - you can see their details and decide which one you would like to go with.
While in the “waiting room” CareFirstVideoVisit is constantly updating you and giving you the option, if you no longer want to wait on the doctor you picked, to go to the next available....
I couldn’t be happier with the doctor I picked 👍

Soooo Convenient

Every time I have used this service my experience has been great! Doctors are caring and knowledgeable. Where else can you beat this service without going to an actual clinic or hospital? This is the way to go, it’s private, convenient, and you can do this anywhere. If I could have gave more than 5 stars I would have.

When it works it’s great!!!

I have CareFirst for my medical coverage so you would think their own Video Visit app would be able to consistently ascertain that I have a $0.00 copay for this service but 7 out of 10 times it tries to charge me the full $49 fee only to have to fight for reimbursement. Get your act together. It doesn’t exactly spark confidence when you encounter a company in which it’s own 2 hands aren’t communicating with each other effectively.

Excited about this service!

I used this service for the first time yesterday! What a great experience! I had to wait about 3 minutes and the doctor was very nice and knowledgeable. She sent some meds for my cough to the pharmacy right away! So great to skip going to the clinic and not have to wait hours for something minor!

Kathy P.

I just saw a doctor via video for conjunctivitis and the experience was wonderful! Doctor was very knowledgeable, thorough and personable. I only had to be in the “wait room” for about 1.5 minutes. It saved me a 40 minute drive each way to see my primary. I will definitely use this format again. Thank you Care First!!

Life changing

Instead of sitting in an urgent care clinic, in an uncomfortable chair, surrounded by other sick people and watching something dreadful on their waiting room tv, I sat in my living room and waited for 15 minutes for an appointment that took 5 minutes over my phone and the prescription has been called into my pharmacy. It’s a great new world.

Problem Solved

I’ve had a rash for a few days that the it h is uncomfortable. I reached out to CareFirst because my pcp doesn’t have anything openings to accommodate my need. They suggested the video visit and I wish I’d know sooner. I was able to get diagnosed and prescribed a medication within 30 mins.

First time, not my last

I have an uncomfortable UTI and I really did not feel like traveling to the urgent care center, waiting and then having to wait at the pharmacy. This was a great alternative. I wish I knew about this option through my insurance earlier. I’m very pleased.

By

Awesome service

They find doctors in your state unlike some of the other tele apps. The video quality is great and so is the service of the doctors. This is perfect because you also get to see how much the copay is before deciding to go through with your visit

By

Convenient & COVID safe

Thank you CareFirst for making video visits an option. I have met with a nutritionist which I would have not done without a video visit and I was able to consult & follow-up with a Dr regarding medication interaction when my Dr was not available. Peace of mind is priceless!

this app is an outrage

Even though I was told I was covered for this service by Blue Cross, CareFirstVideoVisit forced me to pay out of pocket because it had issues, then after I did that and signed up for a telehealth urgent care appointment (recommended by a nurse after I described my symptoms) despite waiting forever for my appointment it kept booting me off randomly and expected me to sigh in and start from scratch, thinking I completed an appointment it never allowed me to even continue to wait in line for. CareFirstVideoVisit is fraudulent.

Theee hours and cut off

I waited 2 hours for a video visit today and then when it was my turn, CareFirstVideoVisit shutdown. And that was after CareFirstVideoVisit shutdown 2 times previously. There are not enough four letter words for how I feel right now. Thanks for nothing.

Urgent Care in the comfort of your home

I love using CareFirstVideoVisit. I am a mom of 4 and my husband and I are very busy and have used this for our kids and ourselves on the couch and out of town. App is easy to use and remembers information from past visits. Service for me has always been swift and effective.

Visit cancelled, ZERO explanation or help

Crappy customer service experience here.

I had a video appointment with a therapist on the books for four weeks – that’s the earliest time I could get with my preferred therapist – and then right before the appointment, I get a cold, impersonal message through CareFirstVideoVisit that it has been canceled. Zero explanation, no opportunity to reschedule, no suggestion of someone else to talk to!

If CareFirstVideoVisit team is listening, I would say this: would you want this to happen to you? Some things should not be left to full automation! When Airbnb gets a last-minute cancellation, they have a human reach out to you to help you find somewhere else to stay. That’s the right and humane thing to do.

You already staff a 24/7 nurse advice line. One thing they could do is reach out to people with canceled video appointments and help them think about their options. All it takes is to have one part of your sprawling organization talk to another part.

Optimize for the patient experience, not (just) the clinician’s. It’s not complicated.

Problems with the Ap

Its not the best ap, also the doctor did nothing for me. I’m a nurse, I know what I have. But I had ap problems. I had to reconnect several times cause the WiFi kept turning off. I have an IPhone 7+ and this was a hassle to have the WiFi kept kicking off and the phone went into 4g. The doctor wasn’t great, I needed more progressive treatment. But the ap needs a little working out of kinks. I have no idea how much my copay was, maybe this is in network.

Doctor Great App so-so

Since this is a Care First BXBS app and that is the insurance I have I thought they would accept my insurance.....nope, there was a box for what insurance you have but no drop down to choose and you cannot type anything into that section.
Also, the place to list the drugs you take is just a single line so you type it all down but cannot see what you typed, also I do not think the doctor saw it as she asked what I was taking and did not respond when I told her I typed them in.

The Doctor was Great, seemed to care, did not seem rushed and at midnight still had a sense of humor.

Hopefully Carefirst works on CareFirstVideoVisit some more and starts taking their insurance online for payment.

Great experience

The doctor was very kind and attentive. I also didn’t feel rushed. The doctor provided great suggestions and also provided a work excuse note. This option allowed me to save so much time and I didn’t have to leave my home.

This service sucks! They were rude to my adult daughter and told her if the antibiotics didn't work to not return to this platform. It also cost more than my normal co pay. WILL NOT USE AGAIN!!
