Follow these steps to resolve intermittent SITA eWAS app issues:

Force Stop the SITA eWAS App
1. On android, goto "Settings" » click SITA eWAS app. » click "Force Stop".

Update SITA eWAS to the latest version on PlayStore

Clear SITA eWAS App Cache and Data:
1. On your device, goto "Settings" » click "Apps" » select "SITA eWAS app" » click "Storage" » click "Clear Data" option. This Clears both data and cache.
2. Relaunch SITA eWAS.

Fix SITA eWAS unable to contact server/ SITA eWAS internet connection errors on Android:

This issue is usually caused by your network. Here is how to fix:

On android, goto "Settings" » "Apps" or "Manage Apps" tab.
Click SITA eWAS » "Force Stop".

Again, got SITA eWAS » "Mobile Data" » "Allow Background Data Usage".
Go back to "Settings" » "Connections" » "Mobile Network" » "Network Mode".

About this app

The application presents the last observations and forecasts in an innovative horizontal and vertical view providing a clear 4D view with the time. eWAS data can be used at ground for a better flight preparation and even onboard the aircraft to receive continuous updates during the flight. New data format and compression allow eWAS to uplink forecast with a very limited bandwidth to limit the communication costs. ATC flight plan can be directly requested to the eWAS ground servers or copy paste from the flight folder. Highly customizable, the application allows to define an airline policy with various options including the selections of various weather providers. Thanks to specific integration onboard the aircraft, data can be received by satellite and even by ACARS communication. Specific connection to the Airline OCC can also be requested to get for example flight plans and airports. eWAS provides airline pilots a complete weather situation for their flights.
