Stela as I heard is an amazing app that people love to read but what they fail to tell you is that you have to pay, its either you start a 7 day free trail or you pay weekly or Yearly. Really? For one I thought this would be free content and it doesn’t help that you have to see these amazing comics and can’t even read them because their all locked not even the first three episodes are unlocked, so really you don’t know if it’s good or not but have to pay, for one I don’t want to pay for a manga or comic book because why pay to read something that should be free or at least unlock the first three episodes or even give some free content not just lock all comics, I don’t know how people can just do the free trial get hooked and have to spend valuable money that some need to use for every day life for some updates on mangas, I was looking forward to reading on Stela . In the ads they fail to tell you that you need to pay, this app I get it it’s a subscription service BUT TELL THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW. I was drawn by the art but I immediately deleted Stela after finding out I need to pay, I’m not going to do it, EVEN Tappas has a better service than you! STICK TO WEBTOON, THEIR ARE AMAZING STORIES THERE

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to this time. The art and story is good but only one or two episodes are unlocked and you have to pay to see the other episodes. It would have be fine if it was cheaper but it is entirely to much. Don’t get me wrong the artists and writers very much do so deserve it but it would be nice if some stores had more unlocked episodes to see if you’ll really actually like the story. Or even some free for the younger people who also enjoy reading these and don’t have the money to pay for the outrageous costs. It is really just a disappointment to not be able to see more of Stela and stories but unfortunately I can’t and I will be deleting Stela as well. I hope Stela can change in the future and will think about the younger people, like teenagers, and poorer families. But like most things I probably won’t change and is probably in it for the money. Not the creators or the reader, but for themselves. Also 7 day free trials are basically a scam so they really can’t use that as an excuse.

I didn’t like it because all the manga there had to be paid for and that’s not right because we don’t even get a sample to see how well Stela is and how it works. It’s not like people are just willing to give up money without having a sample first. Some people will but besides that point. If you’re at a store looking for clothes, and you don’t think the clothes will fit, will you try it on first or but it immediately without knowing how it fits. It’s the same here basically. So I just want you to put out samples at least 2 episodes maybe. To me Stela looked appealing but it’s not just the outside that counts and that a reason why I dont like it. The drawing are great but I can’t see more of the drawing because everything costs money. So I would rather stick to MangaToon or WEBTOON because those are both really good and you get A LOT of free episodes. But in my case, if thugs weren’t so expensive I would get this.

I was so excited to try Stela when I saw the ad for a comic based on The Portrait of Dorian Gray(Grey).

The moment I opened Stela , thinking it was free like Tapas(you can earn coins to unlock chapters of comics or novels) or Webtoon(everything is free except maybe the most recent chapters that you can pay to see early), I went straight to find that one comic.

I thought the hearts on the profile of the comics were for adding to a library, so I “added” a ton before I got to the one I was looking for.

All the while I was on there, I was pestered with a pop-up asking me to subscribe or try a seven day free trial. Of course, in both cases you need to put in a credit card.

Now, I went to the first chapter of Dorian Gray(Grey). I scrolled down a short distance only to find ANOTHER pop-up. I tested other chapters, of that comic and others, and found that Stela was definitely NOT free.

I was incredibly disappointed, especially when it said in Stela that these comics were exclusive to Sēla.

I’m a creator myself, and I understand how hard artists have to work, however this isn’t right. If someone can’t afford to subscribe, then they aren’t allowed to see the beautiful art and stories available there.

I’m definitely sticking to Tapas and Webtoon now.

Stela is wonderful the art work and the story lines are amazing. There was one in particular I couldn’t stop reading. The only thing I could see wrong is that they don’t tell you when the stories you are reading are going to be updated and they don’t respond to comments asking about when an update will occur other than that highly recommend Stela the stories are amazing my favorite so far is lumi white.

When I first downloaded Stela I thought it looked so amazing and cool. The visuals were sooo incredible and I wanted to start reading some new stories, that’s when I soon realized something... after reading about 2 short clips of a story, they told me I had to pay after a 7 day free trial. I know that some people don’t have an issue with paying but you guys need to know that not everyone has money to pay and that also includes me sadly. If I had money I would have payed for this and would have enjoyed Stela but I don’t. I hope that maybe one day this changes so I can actually read these amazing looking stories and write a better review about Stela.

This application is trully AMAZING! It has a good selection of comics with great art and stories. I read some reviews get very frustrated with the pay-to-read, but I see the artists and writers, and even Stela developers behind it are worth to be thanked for their hard work. And the monthly subscription price is reasonable, especially when comparing to buying tokens to unlock chapters in other comic apps. Anyway, keep up the good work, this app!

I read the reviews on Stela it seemed pretty good but when I tried it you need to pay! Or do the free trial which I think is ridiculous. You can’t even read the first few chapters without paying! I think you should let the first few chapters be unlocked so you can let the readers have a chance to have a taste of the book. I don’t recommend Stela if you don’t want to pay. I suggest you stick to manga toon,webcomics, or webtoon. Unlike Stela with those apps I recommend you can actually EARN coins to unlock chapters, some chapters are actually unlock already.
And pardon me for my grammar or spelling mistakes I made.

With Stela, you get a new story every week and dozens of ongoing and archived stories to chose from. Fairy tales, classic books and stories, superheroes and Golden Age comics. New stuff added all the time. I loaded it onto the iPad for trips for me and the kids, keeps us entertained for hours and doesn’t kill the battery like streaming videos does. Recommend!

I've only been able to read the first chapter from one comic and it's beautiful. I signed up for the free trial, and now every chapter shows up as a blank black space. Would love to continue the story, but I believe Stela isn't working. Gorgeous art from what I've been able to see!

I see this as having a lot of potential and personally I don’t see why you have to put a price on the books. People like to read for fun and enjoyment, but when you see monthly payment or something it drains the fun out of online(digital) reading. The artist are great, but the monthly payment think is crazy. If people do want to find an app to enjoy free reading or even writing I would recommend Wattpad or WEBTOON theses apps are much better than this one if your not looking to pay any money.

When I’m waiting in line or sitting on the bus it’s easy to jump on Stela and catch up on my favorite story or discover old classics. Drawn beautifully and written well, there’s always something that draws me in and keeps me coming back for more.

The only thing I see when I open Stela is a bunch of unfinished comics after maybe 6 or 7 chapters from 2016 and some from 2017. Accessing any of these shows you a short intro to the chapter and ends w a subscription fee if you sign up for a specific number of weeks or months, etc. So if you’re interested in knowing if you’ll be getting more out of an artist or author to where you’d like to support them financially, this is not the way to do it. The art pulled me in but the set up is not for me. I’ll opt back for WEBTOON.

The quality is what they brag about. Ok cool. So I downloaded Stela and within minutes deleted it. Yes the comics are beautiful, until you have to start a subscription to pay for five chapters. And other reading apps, the actual company list and a description whether it’s a free service or not. This one then. Also, there is it a really big selection of series anyways. Would not recommend this to the light reader. Just stick to WEBTOONs app.

I’m gonna say they have a really good stories and they do amazing pictures but I had to pay a ridiculous price for another episode come on people that’s ridiculous I know they work hard to make this and I will not pay for a trial I really do love the work they put into these drawings and pictures and stories but some not even worth the price and for each episode?! No thanks

Every time i try to create account i get a connection time out. I have read these comics before and wanted to subscribe this time but can’t due to whatever is happening.

Stela has good comics in it. It's feature comic seems to be Untold Love: Lumi White. The biggest issue is the site doesn't really have a forum, their social media hasn't been updated since late June 2019 and they really don't spotlight their writers and artists by linking their Instagram or Twitter.
It makes it difficult to see if there are chances in upload scheduling.
Their last update was in January 2020. Just over a year ago and it was a kickstarter.

Don’t listen to the fake reviews that say how good Stela is with the heart emojis.

Stela seems really good and the stories aren’t that bad. But you have to sign up for a stupid subscription just to read ANY of the stories (besides some trailers which just show artwork). The art work it good but the fact that all you get is a free 7 day trial and then you can’t use Stela anymore without paying is a terrible decision. Unless hey change it don’t waist your time and uninstall it.

First, the art and the stories are great, but beyond the prohibitively expensive price point, Stela is glitchy. It randomly shuts down once and a while, and gave me huge problems just trying to register, so many “please try again or regist later” (their typo not mine). Really wish there was a better way to access such cool content.

The storylines are incredibly catching and well thought out. The art is beautiful and I can tell a lot of work has been put into it to make it look so wonderful. When I read the stories it’s like they come to life!

I really like Stela. Really appreciate that they have a bunch of lgbtq stories, as someone who is always looking for more content like that. The art is amazing, and the stories are well written and interesting. There’s a couple of the comics that I couldn’t put down once I started. The sub is definitely worth it for this quality of content and the frequency of updates!

It’s hard to tell from the description, but there’s a lot of comics in here, and they’re way more unique than the kind of stuff you’d see from Marvel or DC. It’s refreshing to see stories with legit LGBT protagonists and romances. Finally, somebody’s telling the kind of stories I’ve been looking for.
