MangaStorm itself is great. Read from multiple sources, bookmarks your chapter & page, choose between left-right or right-left reading order, etc. the dealbreaker involves ‘unlocking’ MangaStorm . I purchased MangaStorm and the ads were still there. Went on their site and they say to click restore purchases in settings. Like other reviewers have said the button doesn't work and freezes MangaStorm . They then recommend to buy it again. What?! So I can waste more money and pray it works this time?

-There is no one to talk to.
-The purchased app wont show up in app store purchases but rest assured its taken your money.
-Ads will still show despite your purchase
-Their faq section pretty much says we cant do anything about app store billing/features and to contact apple support.
-Apple support says the reciprocal thing: they cant get MangaStorm to work since they didn't make it so contact the developer.

As a result MangaStorm knowingly takes your money while still showing you ads. Crooked tactics. They probably make more money from ad revenue then 1 time purchases so they don't bother to fix the issue. Trying to get the unlocked version to work is akin to a circle of insanity. If you read this far then take my advice and stick with the free version. There is no ad free version of MangaStorm.

Don’t get me wrong, I love MangaStorm and how simple the navigation and design is, but when my favorite manga counter reached around 800 (I am moving a lot of manga from one app to this one) MangaStorm wasn’t working the way it used to. It was taking a long time to load up the summary with all of the chapters, the chapters themselves were taking a long time to load too, and when I reloaded both, the orientation I could read the manga went from right to left, to top to down. Then, when I left the chapter, MangaStorm didn’t save my place, it kept loading. I also discovered that I cannot remove the manga from my favorites, meaning the list will continue to grow until an update is put in. Is it possible to update the power of MangaStorm for those that have a really long list of favorites/reading?

I initially used the free version. The ads were annoying but would not appear while reading a manga only when outside. That I can respect. I eventually gave in and bought the paid version. The amount that I use it makes it more than worthwhile. The ability to download whole series of manga makes plane trips a breeze. The UI is initially difficult to use properly at first but now that I'm used to it I can't have it any other way. I've used the Crunchyroll manga app and this one is just wholly better. I have currently 71 titles I'm going through and MangaStorm is able to save the specific page I stopped at for every single one of them. Meanwhile the Crunchyroll app requires me to restart it if I haven't used it for several hours and then loses my place for the chapter I was reading. Thank you for all the years of support.

I tried a couple programs before I found Manga Storm and I can honestly say that this is the best app for reading manga on iOS for a number of reasons. MangaStorm is very easy to use, has very few adds even on the free version, and allows you to sort the series that you want to read and/or follow with ease. I ended up purchasing the paid version of MangaStorm (which was less than $5) and have never gotten more entertainment value out of such a small amount of money!

Another important reason I gave MangaStorm five stars is that any bugs or issues that pop up are usually fixed within a day as Manga Storm's developers are super easy to get a hold of. I had a problem reading a certain series recently and someone from the official Manga Storm Facebook page got back to me within half an hour and helped me and other users fix our problem incredibly quickly. In an age where app developers don't really care about customer service or bug-fixing in a timely manner, Manga Storm shines as an incredible example of a company that still very much cares about it's users happiness.

In conclusion, because of all these reasons, Manga Storm is a fantastic app and is not only incredible as a free app, but one that you will probably upgrade in the future once you fall in love with it like I have!

MangaStorm is great for reading on the go or for binging any series you can find on the inter-webs. MangaStorm itself is free to use and has about 90% full usage without spending a dime. There is a one time fee for the fully unlocked app, but as a person who has had it (unlocked) for 5 years now it is very worth it. Unlimited downloads makes it easy to travel and read without using data. Additionally, latest(-ish) update has made great minor changes to the look and functionality. Improvements all around.

Occasionally there are a few hiccups with MangaStorm in retrieving manga and may require you to re-add the series, like with Kissmanga and requiring Recaptcha. Some weird events like these happen rarely, but do exist. Regardless, it’s hard to blame MangaStorm for that, when it relies on external data.

All in all. This is my favorite app period.

This manga app is most likely one of the best ones out there that is both convenient and trustworthy. I was looking for similar apps that could do the same but this tops them all. Although you have to look for the manga yourself, whats wrong with looking for the title and reading it comfortably after finding it. It is worth downloading if you are an avid manga reader like me and even more so, with more features such as space for downloading the chapters and archiving finished ones, after buying it. So 5 stars from me and more if possible 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
EDIT: I'm still using MangaStorm and it's still the best. It is still one of my best buys ever. For just a cheap buy, no ads, full control over organization and downloading of manga chapters. It is what I use, literally, after I wake up. I open my eyes, check my phone for manga updates. Worth every penny and time.

Still loving MangaStorm ! But please let us retrieve manga from MANGAGO!!! Mangago has been my hotspot for manga recently and I’m very surprised to see its not supported by manga storm! I downloaded another manga app that supports it. I will keep manga storm though cause it’s great but I rather have 1 manga app than 2...mangago pls!!

Okay, I'm loving MangaStorm even more than before! Its a MUST HAVE for manga readers! It's always been good, but it was riddled with error screens and network issues. Most of be issues have been fixed now! There was even an issue connecting with kissmanga and they fixed that problem within a few days! I hardly get connection errors now as long as my wifi is working (if it's not, just use your personal hotspot through your phone!) works like a charm, and I'm actually thinking about purchasing MangaStorm now.

Just as the title says, great app for manga! You search it, you find it, you read it! Reads smooth and well. Only suggestion, better search engine and a bigger variety. I'd like to search by genre!!

Edit: had to take a few stars away. GREAT app, although I keep getting error screens left and right. Please fix that! It's a great app but it keeps bugging.

I just started using Manga Storm a few months ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how well MangaStorm works. To be honest, I did try MangaStorm once before and found it confusing to use. But after other manga apps kept crashing or were unable to load pages, I thought I'd give Manga Storm another try. I'm so glad I gave it another chance because it's now the only manga reader app on my tablet. What I didn't understand initially was that you had to enter the URLs of the manga websites to read the chapters. Yes, I know it does say that in MangaStorm , but because none of the other manga reader apps have a similar feature, I (really) had to learn how to use it. Once you know how to search and add manga though, it's a breeze to use. Would recommend trying MangaStorm if you're having problems with other reader apps.

I have been using MangaStorm for years consistently and it has never let me down, it has given me everything I would have expected from a perfect manga reading app. One of its features is that it allows you to follow the manga you want to read and be kept up on when new chapters come out. I have used this feature to keep track of what I have read over the years using MangaStorm , but just recently I’ve noticed different mangas disappearing from the list of following mangas, which is causing a lot of trouble because I don’t know which ones are being removed. This has happened to 20-30 different manga and it really hurts my opinion of MangaStorm. If it wasn’t for this, MangaStorm would be perfect, but sadly until it’s fixed there’s nothing ya can do.

I’ve been using MangaStorm consistently for over three years and I’m still as incredibly happy with it as I was when I first bought it. It does everything you’d need it to do — the manga chapters load clearly and it’s super easy to add manga to your library. It updates you when there are new chapters, which is incredibly helpful since I have too many manga I’m following to continuously have to manually check them myself each day. I love the ability to switch the direction of reading for each separate work since I also sometimes read manhwa or Chinese webtoons, which read left-to-right. MangaStorm is honestly so good that I’ve stopped using my PC to read manga at all and solely use MangaStorm for all of my manga-reading.

I've been using MangaStorm for a couple years, and it's great! I was always kinda scared of reading manga on the computer cuz they might have pop-up ads or ads on the side that could give you a virus if you accidentally click on them. I originally used the free version, but I eventually upgraded to the paid version so that my sister and I could save more than 10 series and download chapters for long trips. I think the chapters are usually available as soon as the chapters are fan-translated, like SnK, so you'll be able to read chapters probably as quickly as everyone else reads them. The translations are generally good, but it might depend on the translating group and/or how popular the manga is.

I have been using MangaStorm since 2012 and for sure this has got to be the most used app on my phone and tablet. The followed manga are easily transferable to another device via iCloud and because of that I have currently over 100+ manga completed (one shots and whole mangas) and wait for it... a whooping 1500+ manga following. The only issue is finding what I want to read next because I have already read most of what I'm into at this point. Overall, 10/10 my favorite app after the premium purchase of course. Trust me it's worth it, no ads, and literally and infinite amount of able to be followed manga with multiple places to follow them like Kissmanga, Mangafox, Mangahere, Batoto, and more!

It’s a real practical app for those looking for a replacement for Manga Reader. You can stream or download just about any manga there is; unless a site doesn’t have it. You can also upload some manga to iCloud to read off of your other Apple devices so that’s a big plus. Gives you options on whether you like to turn the pages: from left to right, right to left, or even up to down for scrolling needs. All in all; I highly recommend MangaStorm for those true die hard manga readers. I recommend getting the premium version. It’s a bang worth your buck and it helps out the developers a bunch who bring these supreme advantages for MangaStorm compared to others.

For those who don’t understand how this works. This is only a medium to access manga from websites. You add the source from the page URL. But once that’s done you can access the manga anytime you want and best of all you can download for offline viewing.
Pro’s:
1. add source from preferred manga sites
2. Can bookmark your mangas based on status: reading, completed, finished, updated, etc
3. Loads extremely fast on WiFi even if not downloaded
4. Manga that gets axes on the website source can be renewed by adding a new source from another site
5. Intuitive App, easy to learn
6. When you purchase the full version (which you should) you get cloud backup which was a godsend when I upgraded my phone 👊🏼

Cons:
1. You get adds inside MangaStorm unless purchasing the full version (I bought the full version)
2. Adding new sources can be a pain at times, when you read a very popular manga ( this is a pro and con because it’s convenient to replace the source, but annoying when it doesn’t let you know the source is no longer annoying)

I used MangaStorm so much that I would usually be giving it a 5 star rating, but I wrote this review because I've been encountering the same problem for a while now. I switch off between using my iPad Pro and my phone for the sake of commuting ease. Sometimes my manga library (favorite and collections) would completely clear out for no reason then MangaStorm would crash. Luckily manga storm backs up onto my iCloud so I don't lose my favorites, but I would end up losing my collections library which isn't very fun redownloading. I'm hoping that this is just a bug, but I just wanted to let you know this happened sometimes.
