Stay away from this one. It turns on your FaceTime camera when just doing searches. Thankfully Apple now has an indicator that comes on when that happens. Probably spyware of some sort. When I deactivated access to the camera, suddenly it had trouble seeing the internet.

I'm very surprised to hear that everyone enjoys WhizzkyWhiskyScanner so much. As someone with several hundred bottles I attempted to enter several and rarely did the scan ever get the proper bottle. Unfortunately a manual search didn't locate them either. Maybe this is good for someone who doesn't have much of a collection, but I would think some of the simple ones I scanned would be in there and they weren't. I messaged their support and look forward to them having a solution at which point I'd be happy to give a more fitting rating.

When I saw WhizzkyWhiskyScanner I really was excited. Finally I can get my collection in order.

After scanning 8 bottles I decided to uninstall WhizzkyWhiskyScanner . It got every single one wrong. The straw that broke the camel’s back was that it identified 2018 WLW as Masterson Straight Rye 10 years.

How can you miss identifying a BT antique collection. Great idea but it misses the mark.

While the idea of WhizzkyWhiskyScanner is great, and using it for news is cool… cataloging your collection is horrible in WhizzkyWhiskyScanner. Rather than go to my cabinet and snap pics to update my whiskeys, I prefer manually adding them by searching. This feature is horrible! It rarely brings up anything that matches what I’ve typed, and when it does, adding fails 90% of the time. I’ll select a bottle, after many minutes of “adding” it asks what I paid, then goes back to “adding” for minutes, then is never actually added to WhizzkyWhiskyScanner . I gave 2 stars just because of the news feature.

Good for learning about and capturing notes for common whiskeys. Label scan works very well most of the time, and note taking/flavor profiling interface is excellent.
However, it’s very difficult to update notes on whiskies in your collection if you have notes for more than a few whiskeys. You can filter your collection on empties, but for some bizarre reason not on active bottles. You also can’t search on just your active collection. You have to scroll through everything in alphabetical order. You can filter by standard whiskey categories, which can be marginally helpful.
The biggest problem is that there is no way to manually enter a whiskey - you have to match an existing whiskey in a text search or scan a label and have the match fail before you can enter the new whiskey. And if you can’t connect to the server, you can’t enter a new whiskey at all. So nearly unusable for whiskey you may be tasting at restaurant, bar or tasting event where you don’t have access to the bottle, and completely unusable if no cellular or wifi service is available.

Finding whiskeys is a pain. A lot of times they just are not there. It would be nice to just have a drop down to scroll from because the text input option is very frustrating and some just don’t show up! Good feature to add notes , haven’t tried using it but I see value in it to be able to be comparing with others

I wish the devs luck with this , I think it has great potential with some updates and tweaks

The foundations of WhizzkyWhiskyScanner are great but it kept giving database connection issues both on WiFi and cell. Missing a number of more recently released whiskeys.

This is becoming more and more my go to app. It helps a ton when traveling and want to experience new whisky. Having over 130 bottles at home I am using it to help keep track of what I have in stock and also what I did and did not like. Really important as I travel globally and love to try local whiskies. The articles are great and have actually helped me when I was. Asia in picking some new whisky to try out. Must have for the whisky officienado.

As it stands, WhizzkyWhiskyScanner is good, but on its way to greatness.

You can scan and track your whiskeys and the library of whiskeys is pretty decent.

Scanner works well.

Tasting notes section is great with separate sections for nose, taste, finish, overall.
Suggested description tags are a huge plus.

WhizzkyWhiskyScanner is still a little glitchy and slow, and the library is yet to be complete.
HOWEVER, improvements are continually being made and I am excited to see how WhizzkyWhiskyScanner becomes great.

This is a fun new whisky app I just started using. The best feature is the ability to scan whisky by label! You can add also bottles to your collection, rate them, read reviews and mark items as opened.

I'd love to see a total value of collection added and the ability to add multiple bottles.

What a great way to connect and share thoughts on an international basis. Love WhizzkyWhiskyScanner. Not only can I keep tabs on my own collection, but I can keep tabs on my friends’ as well. My second favorite thing about WhizzkyWhiskyScanner is the fact that I can rely on the opinions/ratings of other trusted tasters before making a purchase, which often times can add up $$$.

An excellent way of keeping track of the various whiskeys that I have, or have had, in my collection. Along with the ability to keep detailed notes on flavor and scent characteristics.

I’ll be glad to continue using WhizzkyWhiskyScanner.

Been looking for an app that is easy to navigate and user friendly and this fits the bill just fine. Being a fan of single malts, I am always looking to try new brands and explore new tastes. WhizzkyWhiskyScanner helps with the rating and reviews of single malts and other liquor, I would like to try in the future. Totally recommend it!

Great concept and app for whiskey enthusiasts. However WhizzkyWhiskyScanner tends to run slow when searching and navigating. Fix the lag and it would be my favorite whiskey app.

I'm just getting into drinking whiskey and WhizzkyWhiskyScanner is very helpful. Additionally, support is very responsive. They've added a couple whiskies I couldn't find almost immediately after requesting they be added. Keep it up!

A wonderful app for a whisky novice such as myself! Opportunity to learn from the experts in the palm of your hand. I use it regularly while shopping, or simply checking out whiskies about which I know nothing. Yet to be disappointed by its extensive database. Highly recommended!

Whisk(e)y is ever growing and ever changing. There are endless bottles that are currently out and are no where to be found.
The last update was 5months ago and before that a year ago.

WhizzkyWhiskyScanner is a diamond in the rough but it’s lack of updates and disregard to populate the the ever growing library of spirits leaves it in the water without a paddle.

Horrible app. Camera scan is sideways and has a mind of its own. It does not respond well to touch. Options for what to do after entering reviews are not apparent. Poor layout.

I’ve scanned a bottle label multiple times each time it fails to find it and just throws something else up as the found it. I’ve done up close and farther away didn’t make a difference. I will be looking for others. If only Vivino did whiskey.

Not formatted for new iPhone X screens. Search bar is a pain to tap. Takes 50 tries to get the curser to show up. Overall great app. I love it. Just needs an update.
