All I want to do is watch news. These constan t pop up ads make it impossible. It seems to have gotten worse. And they are the same ads over and over again lasting 30 seconds followed by another 30 second ad. Every time I fast forward to get past certain areas ads pop up again. I’m so tired of watching the commercials for the tennis channel and CW. I would gladly pay for an update that would eliminate these ads.
As of now NewsON is totally useless and should not be downloaded on anyone’s phone. When it was working it was wonderful. Don’t know what’s happening.

I used to love NewsON. I would randomly find great stories and stations and it’s amazing for staying informed. There are some absolutely amazing features. Recently though, it’s been impossible to actually use. Whenever I open NewsON and select a previous newscast, I used to only have to watch a single ad. Now it’s anywhere from 4-6. If I scrub forward, I have to watch another ad or 2 or sometimes 5. It’s honestly just become nearly impossible to use.

I did not mind the commercials previously but recently the audio for the News appears to have been decreased and very clearly increased on the commercials! This has just caused me to ignore the commercials and immediately hit MUTE until they are done. I can no longer find a very nice feature where there was a mix of the Top Stories from all News would play. Please bring that feature back or make it easier to locate if it’s still on NewsON !

I was excited about NewsON at first. I wanted to see my local news and it did provide at least one local channel. The other channels are all over 115 miles plus away. So I don’t understand why there isn’t at least one other local news channel. Also in the last couple of weeks, NewsON keeps spinning like it is buffering and yet nothing ever comes up. So NewsON just locks up. I have it on my phone and it does the same on my Apple TV. Then there is some message ( on the TV…nothing on the phone app) saying there is a problem, try again later. Frustrating when you sit down to watch the news.

I would love NewsON but for one major annoyance. I don't mind ads, but these ads will pop up right in the middle of an interesting/breaking news segment and are usually the same ones every 2 minutes. I would totally pay to have NewsON if you could get rid of the annoying pop-up ads and just have them when they normally would break for commercial. Other than that, it's great to see the news from my home state when I can no longer watch it living thousands of miles away.

NewsON is amazing, very accessible but only one problem.... too many annoying ads cut off or get in the way of a newscast. It’s very very frustrating when there’s something you wanna watch when the news comes back on, but then you realize the news is back already and that commercial made you miss it. I hope News on fixes this for both Roku and phones, it’ll be much appreciated

With the new update it has changed a lot in NewsON , I like to be able to scroll the newscast at the bottom and whenever I do scroll, ads pop up if limiting the ads would be something to do I would highly recommend. Still like how many news stations you can get across the country.

This is a good application to have for news around the United States and you hopefully have your favorite channels to watch live when they are live. The only negative thing I have to say is get rid of the pop-up ads. I do not like watching the news live and then an ad appears, thus I miss the news story! That is why I give it 3 stars would be more if pop-up ads were not part of the application.

This is a great app. I use it to watch local newscasts in other areas of the country that have breaking news. The reason I gave this 4 out of 5 stars is because the new update does not have the minimize screen feature anymore that will allow me to watch the newscast in a small screen while accessing other apps. Please bring this feature back which offers more versatility to NewsON experience.

Love to get the local view on breaking news stories, also great to keep in touch with what’s going on back home when traveling. Video quality is poor on some stations, flawless on others, but always watchable.
Some stations are only available when live, others will fall back to latest previous broadcast, which is helpful. Also no Apple TV app? Roku app is klunky but functional, I’m sure Apple TV could handle it better. I hate tying up my phone to use AirPlay.

Like WIS there giggling and laughing at 6 o’clock in the morning and I don’t appreciate it but if I can get it at 4:30 when there’s news on what I want to hear OK someone needs to stop these people from giggling and laughing and playing games on the a.m. news they say we want to go you’re so full of garbage I mean there’s three idiots on there well maybe to the little girl that does the 430 news is good the rest of the ridiculous ridiculou

It’s great!! If you don’t have cable you can use NewsON to see the latest local news segment. And what’s better, it will give you the live feed and tell you what time it was throughout each part of the broadcast. That way, you can trust the clock on the news to be right!!

NewsON itself is great. There are many stations to choose from. I’m not sure why people are mad about the ads? They’ve always been there. Commercials aren’t anything new thing. Even when the majority of people had cable, commercials were still there. You want free news but don’t want to support the channels? 🙄 My only qualm about NewsON (and I’m not sure if the developers control this), but the audio levels on the ads are like 30% louder, so I have to consistently adjust the volume for every ad. Otherwise I have some monotone announcer yelling about an IUD that may have side effects. Are we able to fix that?

I love how most of all of the streams are in high quality! Here’s the great part, though, since I’m in the ATL Metropolitan Area, I’m not only catching local Atlanta broadcasts, but I can also watch news stations from Toledo and Fort Myers for a couple of examples. However, some cities either don’t have much, or don’t have any channels at all. I’m satisfied that Atlanta has ABC, CBS, and NBC, but where’s WAGA FOX 5 Atlanta?? Also, I’m hoping updates in the near future could bring out more channels for more cities. Here are some recommendations that I (or we) would like to have.

I have been wanting to find an app that lets me watch the news for a long period of time...which I didn't think it would be so hard to find, but every app I tried cut the hour news into 2 minutes segments on each story. I didn't want to stop what I was doing every 2 minutes just to push play on the next video.
I'm so happy I finally found this app. I just have to press play once and I get my local new for entire hour without any interruptions! It doesn't matter what time it is or where I am. I'm am very pleased!

This is a great app for local news it really helps close the gap to cut the cable cord! I have NewsON on my Roku but would love to have it on my AppleTV hate switching between them to get to NewsON. Wish it streamed live, but overall a very good app for watching local news clips. Getting better - stream is maybe 1 minute delay also like that you can watch local news for other cities - and 3 in a favorites list - very cool useful app - must have if you want to dump cable and still be able to get local news

I like it. You made a few mistakes with wten tv. Their weekday schedule that is wrong is their mornings it is on from 4:30am-9:00am their 4 o'clock is from 4:00pm-5:00pm and they have a 7 o'clock newscast from 7:00pm-7:30pm and their 11 o'clock news is from 11:00pm-11:35pm. Their weekend schedule is 6:00am-8:00am and then 9:00am-10:00am and they are on at 6:00pm-6:30pm and 10 o'clock from 10:00pm-11:00pm and 11 o'clock from 11:00pm-11:35pm. And wnyt live at six on the weekend is fro 6:00pm-6:30pm

Issue was due to not enough free space on my device, and not an issue with NewsON . The this app tech responded very promptly to my email.

After updating today all I get is “ Something has gone wrong” “ Retry”. Which have multiple times. Uninstalled and reinstalled with same results. Downloading from App Store on FireStick.

I’m really enjoying NewsON so I can watch local newscasts from other parts like Texas as I’m originally from there and some of the places that I travel to, you just have to wait for there to be a live cast or you can watch a recorded live session, either way it is great! Now I have more options for my media offerings which is a very good thing.

When i first installed NewsON it was great, but I have changed my mind because there is way to much time spent on the station logo and not enough time on playing the actual news.
When it goes to commercials 2 will play then back to the screen with the logo, only to cut into the middle of the news story and then back to commercial.
Please fix this because this is my go to local news app

I travel for work and have enjoyed watching my local news no matter where I am in the world. This has been a very useful app, until the update yesterday. Now streams fast forward for no reason or just plain stop. Relaunching NewsON doesn’t help. There used to be a 30 sec forward button now it is 10 seconds and doesn’t usually work. On the old app you could mirror on the apple TV no problem, now as soon as your phone goes to sleep NewsON quits.

Fix this previously useful app.

I really like NewsON because I am able to watch on demand and live newscast in select US market. When it first started almost all channels that participated were able to commit to on demand news replay. Now select channels, mainly independent local news networks offer on demand news that were previously air live. Big network channels do not allow their news to be played on demand, that may have changed. The main problem now is that some of these newscast cannot be played back on your television using Google’s Chromecast. I don’t use Apple TV so I can’t tell if they also disable this feature on all TV streaming devices. I like that I don’t have to download every one’s news app as I only want to watch their news live or on demand. It’s a shame that Chromecast users are unable to cast it on their TV.

I love the this app app because I’m in an area where I can’t get my local news with an antenna. As a cord cutter, your app is great, but it’s missing something. Why isn’t there a native app for the Apple TV? I know that AirPlay works, but if your app is on the Google Playstore and Roku, then it can be here too. Please fix this and I will gladly give the star that I’m withholding.

NewsON works great if the news is on live but on the days I get home after 11:30 pm and try to watch the recorded news, commercials cut off parts of the broadcast. Example, when I watch the weather, commercials come on way before before the segment is done, interrupting the forecast. My local station is WLOS in Asheville, NC. Please fix this problem.

This latest version is fantastic! I am a complete news junkie and almost every local news station from nearly every State is represented here!

If there’s a news on air, anywhere in the country, you can tune into it! Brilliant!!
