I am enjoying HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden, using it to create an entirely new landscape plan after finishing a whole house renovation. It is fairly easy to use, but having more in the help section would be great. It actually doesn’t have many items, plants, trees, flowers and scrubs, to pick from which is sort of frustrating as it is a landscaping app. There are enough to get a basic idea for a layout, but not do anything beyond that. Good, useful, but not amazing.

I just got HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden for my Mac/Ipad/iPhone I can’t open any of my drawing from the home design app. It says I can’t open stuff from a new version. Why can’t all your apps work across a brood spectrum. I paid for all of your design apps you would think you could access everything across all apps. I have to change my rating from an original 5 star down to 3 and that’s being generous at this point. But I am sure you don’t care since you already have my money. Once you change the interface to access across all your apps I will change back to a 5 star rating. Also your home design 3D app needs some work with being able to add multiple floors and a roof system.

It seems like a fairly powerful consumer design tool but the brief built-in user guide is virtually worthless. There is, supposedly, a "texture" option that allows the user to add a wide variety of surfaces to areas in the design. However, the textures option doesn't show on my menu (the user guide says to click on the pencil to see the textures..... What/where is the pencil???) Without that you can't fill in an area with grass, add pavement to a driveway, add deck boards to a deck or fill in a paver patio.

HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden needs work - or at least a useful integrated help feature. If I could figure out how to use the features it would be well worth the $4.99 cost. Unfortunately, as it is now, in my opinion it is a waste of money.

Pretty powerful app with the ability to go 3D and visit once done, but things like concrete and house features are difficult to find. Types of objects is oddly limited as well. You can just replace with similar items for some. Other than that great app to get an idea of what the yard will look like.

I wasted hours of coordinated work between the free 'outdoor' app and the paid 'home' app with the intention to merge them for a beautiful AND USEFUL model, but alas, 'outdoor' won't open 'home' files ('can't parse' error).

Until these devs stop listening to their marketing department (who apparently value a fast fiver to a long-term customer base)and focus on good coding practices, HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden will remain a shiny baubel of a toy instead of a design tool.

HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden, as is, is a revenue-generating toy posing as a CAD program.

I’ve been using HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden for about a week now. Fairly easy to use, sometimes it’s a bit quirky. I’m drawing my two story house. It’s not something you’ll do in 30 min, but give it a couple of hours and it actually looks good.

Enjoyed using this to visualize our backyard renovations until HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden started crashing when I tried to open certain versions of the file. Couldn’t find any assistance on how to fix and so I’ll have to start almost from scratch and continue not knowing what causes this problem.

I have enjoyed using HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden and laying out our backyard and being able to send the ideas to the landscaper. It does take a little bit of time figuring out how to insert and locate objects and overall I think they did a good job developing this

This is a solid outdoor design app. It's useful to help visualize various design features before beginning a project. I wish more objects, textures, and features would be made available over time with app updates.

This is an AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME design app. It is great!! But I have a few requests for the developers.

1. First, please please PLEASE add more indoor decor. I know it says Garden and Outdoor in the title, but at least add a toilet and a prettier sink. Also, add a bed please!!! Just because it’s called “outdoor” doesn’t mean we don’t want indoor decor as well!

2. Add more people. It would be great if you could add a lot more people, and a lot more poses. What about a seated pose? Or a lying down pose? It would be great!

Trying to get things the right size is really annoying. Lines will refuse to snap to the edges of other objects, moving objects around will snap to edges sometimes, other times they will refuse to move or jump too far radomy when being moved. Jus too annoying to deal with overall.

HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden is great for messing with furniture placement or burning creative energy. The controls can be a little difficult when it come to small details, but on the whole it’s a great app to play around with.

HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden is better than some, but has clunky controls. You can’t include any terrain because you are constructing on a flat plane and there is no way to incorporate elevation. I am trying to draw on a sloped lot - not working well.

Not too hard to figure out how to use... Pretty fun and not too complicated.

Update: I wouldn't recommend this product if you already own their newer apps. This seems to be an just an earlier version of their current app.

Original: I was hoping this would compliment their Gold app that I've been using, but it looks like that work is useless until the developer updates HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden.

My files are visible from HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden , but when I try opening them, an error message comes up saying that it can't read files created from newer versions.

I hope they update!

I used it to bring my deck drawing to life so my wife could see what the plan was. Worked great to use as a reference

I don’t know what it means. But outdoor home design 3D won’t let me open any of my already created projects from home design 3D. Also when I open up Dropbox in HomeDesign3DOutdoorGarden all that shows up is a blank box. I know I exported my projects to Dropbox.

Half the ‘features’ don’t even work. Can’t customize sizes of anything. Once a texture is added, it can’t be changed. I have wasted a lot of time trying to make this work. No support available. It’s just crap.

As others have said it has a learning curve.
