does not use microphone to measure breath. uninstalling

Disappointing

2022-06-25

I was hopeful when I found and downloaded Medtimer. I thought hmm maybe I can finally use my apple watch to take vitals. The apple watch has an 18 second timer and it times out randomly too. I was hoping Medtimer would have one of these 2 things: 1. Medtimer would keep the watch from timing out. 2. Medtimer would vibrate once the timer ran out after the display went away. It does not do either of those and is therefore useless. Also, when the display on apple watch times out, the timer just stops. I will keep app in case these are fixed. If not then it will be deleted.

What are these crazy sounds?

A loud countdown timer before starting?
A countdown timer while recording? Why is there a countdown timer at all?! Why is it so loud? What isn’t there a mute option? Or even a volume option?

The whole app is poorly designed.
I miss my Medirate app!

Won’t install on iWatch

2022-08-27

Medtimer won’t install on iWatch, keeps installing on phone. Phones are banned in the hospital, so I can’t use it.

Tapping screen isn’t as effective as asking to count.

Checking a pulse requires one hand that needs to be isolated from vibration. Then accurately tapping when digitizers on phones sometimes registers a double tap or doesn’t register a tap at all. And accurately tapping at a rate of 60-130 times a minute when you are holding a smartphone is difficult. It would be easier if it let you do a ten second count and just displayed a clock that timed the right number of seconds then provided a way to enter in the count and multiplied for you. My iPhone clock doesn’t have a second hand, so I can’t do that myself.

Will not download onto my Apple Watch

Could be great

If we could record the date, time and number and actually be able to edit details this would be great. We have a new dog that has heart issues and we need to record the data, but if I have to write it down then I can just as easily manually count. Edit this to do those things and I’d buy it and so would our vet clients

Needs some tweeking

When using Medtimer watch hand gesture feature, it won’t allow you to do tap gestures to count respirations and only allows you to tap the physical watch screen to count.

Could be better..

I wish it would vibrate or give notification when the timer is up. Also it cancels the timer when my wrist is not upright, meaning I have to start over the timer.

Nice and simple

No gimmicks. All joy.
Perfect for checking rates.

Great app.

Simple and effective

2023-04-03

Needed an app to track the respiratory rate of my dog. App is clean, simple and easy to use. The only suggestion i’d make is to have an option to turn of the sound ticks for each passing second. I believe the countdown and end sounds are fine, but I felt myself wanting to tap along to the clicks than the breathing rate of my pet. Slightly off putting. I did see you can lower the volume of the phone... which is a decent alternative. Solid app.

Easy to use

App is simple to use, just tap for each breath over shorter or longer periods of time to get respiration rate. Also does pulse.
Would love to see future version maintain a stats log.

Love the app but....

I’ve been using it for a while and I love it. I would however like for it to sync with apple health and I wouldn’t have to manually input the rate. Other than that it is clean and simple to use. Thank you for a great app

Not what expected does what it’s supposed to do

Thought this used my watch to measure respiratory… no you have to actually count breath and press button for each breath you take.. I am not capable of doing that… I know in not human and now just gave myself an aneurysm trying.

Just what I needed!
