I’ve been trying your app again for a about 5-6 months now. And today I allowed EGWWritings2 to update, and in the devotionals I noticed the STUPIDEST CHANGE YOU EVER MADE. It’s a daily devotional, but I can no longer open a month and pick a day: say, go to January and pick January 7. That option is no longer there!! WHY THE HECK NOT?! Are you now gonna force how I read devotionals?! So I pick the first January date I saw, the 23rd, hoping I would get to move back to the 7th, but NO! There’s all kinds of random dates under my selection. I don’t have have a clue what you call yourselves doing but you often create grand screw ups. Don’t try to guide how I read a devotional. I don’t want you directing me randomly or by topic. I went back to the old EGW app where it makes sense.

Bugs/The missing feature list:
- [important!!!] search should not automatically navigate to the first result until a search result is selected as it does still in app version 5.0.1. Just by doing a search you can lose the spot you were reading for a search result that may not even be relevant to what you were searching for. If Google used this behavior it would be like doing a google search and having Google automatically open the the website in the number one position for every search even if you accidentally typed something that was a completely accidental and embarrassing, etc. Not a good idea.
- in the old way back version, there used to be tabs so you could have more than one reference open at once. Without tabs like this it’s very cumbersome to do comparisons between two locations!
- when scrolling vertically down the page the scrolling is not smooth but laggy and jerky.
- the original old app had publisher info for each book at the beginning but is not here now so there’s no way to tell what year a book was published. Very useful if you want to know if it was published while EGW was still alive and capable of reviewing it.
- when I migrated to version 5.0.0 the word titles to all my bookmarks got erased (don’t know if the migration tool was fixed in 5.0.1 but those title are still not restored.)

I had previously rated as 5. I used EGWWritings2 for some time, had highlights and notes and bookmarks, then one day, everything disappeared. I could not see any books in the collections screen, nothing was accessible. I had to delete app and reload and lost everything even though my log in was the same. I love that it has easy access to all books and collections, allows highlighting, notes, and you can email highlighted text or whole chapters. Was a great resource but with this most recent issue, I have lost a lot of study efforts that now would need to be redone starting from scratch.
If you do use EGWWritings2 for all its advantages, I suggest you keep your study notes and page locations etc in a Written folder so you will not lose them.

EGWWritings2 is powerful, and it’s scope is amazing. I use EGWWritings2 primarily for daily devotional time, and I am so thankful for it. That said, I find the interface cumbersome and very dry. I read from the same book morning after morning, and it would be nice to jump right back to where I was at app launch without tapping through reading history every day. Consider a warmer, simpler “devotional/reading” mode and “search/research” mode with more tools.
The sparse gray lists don’t encourage exploration or provide much of a friendly introduction to those new to her writings. I would like to see a section that provides an organized overview (consider some graphics and color!) of all her catalogued writings, with brief explanations for each work, or group of works, with links after each summary to learn more detail about that work.
The list of audio books isn’t organized in a way that’s easy to navigate.
Hats off to the team. Obviously, you can’t please everyone, but I think you have an opportunity to retain more users (especially those new to EGW) with some tweaks. May you continue to be used by God to bring people closer to Jesus.

I’m so happy to have discovered EGWWritings2 with easily transportable publications.
One issue I have is with the audio. I like the ability to listen and read at the same time but it could use some improvements. I would like to be able to move forward and back within a chapter without having to start the chapter over again. Also, it would be great to be able to keep my place. If it has been several days since my last session, I can’t always remember what chapter I was listening to. It could use some modernization of narrators and music. The music and introduction to the chapters sounds like it comes from the 1930s and makes me feel talked down to. No music would be fine and a respectful, conversational tone of voice for the introduction to chapters would help. The main narrator mispronounces words - such as pronouncing the silent 2nd a in pharaoh as a long a. When it’s a word that is used over and over again, it makes the listener cringe. I’m sure this would be a huge undertaking to make these changes so let me say again, I really do appreciate your making an app with these publications.

I first must thank you for making the breadth of these writings available to anyone relatively free, it is with great cost labour and sacrifice I imagine that this was made possible so thank you all for that, may our Father add his blessings to you accordingly as He sees fit.
I find from time to time that some books and pamphlets have the chapters out of sequence this can be very frustrating to deal with and may be discouraging to some readers. I personally just download what im reading to my books app and find the issue gone and I can complete my reading, I first encountered this in"truth about angels " then a few others since. I'm sure you will figure it out and rectify it by God's will. The problem as with what ever other issues there are, are no doubt devices of the enemy to sow discord and chaos and to keep us away from learning more about our God HIS love for us, care of usc and will towards us, so please don't be discouraged.
Much love and many blessings to you all, and thanks for all you do and will do.

Overall it’s a pretty good App! But after only a few minutes if use I thought of some things that would make it so much better!
First, would be continuous scrolling. I’m sure that this may not suite everyone, but at least having the option to choose between continuous scrolling and page-by-page scrolling would keep everyone happy.
Second, would be the ability to speed up the playback of the audio books. The reading is quite slow, which is good for some people, however, I think the reading is slow enough that speeding up to at least 2x speed would would still be easy to keep up with. If an option to speed up playback were added, having a few different speed options (1.25x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, maybe even 3x for the brave) would be ideal.
Third, would be some kind of predictive search function. Kind of like how google will say, “did you mean...” This would be useful for times when you can’t quite remember the exact wording of a quote, but know the general idea. I realize that this idea would likely be quite difficult to implement, but it would be an amazing feature.
Maybe some of these options are already somewhere in settings, but I have not been able to find them yet. So, if they are there, maybe make them easier to find.
Thanks for the good work so far! EGWWritings2 definitely beats the old CDs. Having the entire searchable library in my pocket is very handy!

I have loved EGWWritings2 for a long time, and appreciate so much all the efforts put in by the White Estate and the developers to make it available for the Church. Recently however, it has had a major glitch and will not open. When it tries to load, it says “mirrors” followed by “updating Downloaded book content” and then freezes and never opens. I tried several times, but keep getting the same error messages. Praying this can get fixed soon! Thanks :)

What I like best is the immense library of resources you can access. Layout even works well for reading. However, i had to reinstall EGWWritings2 once because it kept logging me out of cloud sync, then I would loose access to my entire library until i logged in again, even though all my books had been downloaded to my device for offline reading. After re-install, now I can read offline, but thats seldom necessary, because I am not routinely logged off like before. Now its been replaced by glitches when downloading new items beyond what I downloaded originally. The fact that i was essentially forced to use the new, less reliable cloud sync function makes the glitches worse.

Just want to say first, I really appreciate EGWWritings2 and the ability to have EGW writings with me virtually anywhere. There’s been lots of improvements and I’m grateful for that.
Here’s a couple bugs that I would appreciate being fixed.
1) On my iPad (iPad mini 2) for the last several months my EGW app has crashed randomly. If it’s not connected to WiFi it doesn’t seem to crash but if it’s connected it will crash every couple minutes while just reading. I think it may have to do with the cloud account or something of that nature.
2) Because I have to have the WiFi off so my app doesn’t crash, it doesn’t save my reading progress in the history, so I have to go and find where I was last in a particular book. It seems to me that the reading history and progress should be saved locally and when connected it could be synced to the cloud. I don’t think I’m the only one that prefers to do my morning devotions without the distractions that come from the Internet.
3) I first noticed this around the new year so maybe it was the update in Dec.? The EGW scripture reference is gone! It doesn’t show up in “all collections” and when I click to access it from the history it gives the loading circle and then just freezes on a white screen and I have to quit EGWWritings2 to do anything else.
Maybe I’m the only one dealing with these issues, and maybe my iPad is too old, but it’d sure be nice to have those bugs squashed.
Thanks, God Bless!

It is awesome to have this entire library of works at my fingertip. I can read and reference no matter where I am and there is no need to carry bulky books especially when traveling since weight is so crucial when flying. The only improvement I would like to see is to make it easier to undo highlighting. I have mistakenly highlighted text and have not figured out how to un-highlight it. I can change it to other colors, but cannot undo it. But for me, it still rates a 5.

I will be sharing EGWWritings2 at camp meeting as one of the 7 secrets to living an abundantly blessed life. It’s shocking how many people don’t know about EGWWritings2 and it’s even worse to learn that our people know about it but don’t use it. This is one of the best tools I have besides my Bible for staying connected with my Savior and having a word for my sisters and brothers. I love the powerful search engine that allows me to find my favorite passages in a flash! Thank you for this wonderful app! God bless you!

This is the best app ever because for free you get many, many EGW books and they are audio!! I love audio books . EGWWritings2 has so many other resources but I mainly use EGWWritings2 for the audio books . EGW books are great books , EGW definitely has been given a gift for writing clarifying everything from earths beginning to to last day events , to diet , to mental health , Jesus love for us , you name it and she wrote about it . Baby Christian or have been walking with Jesus your whole life , this is a must have app . Xoxo

My application keeps crashing whenever I try to listen to the audio books. It won’t play even though I have downloaded the book. I was going to donate but because I have this issue, I cannot.
Since I give donation, my application doesn't crash. 🙏 Now I understand that you must donate for the application to function properly. The thing to do to keep your application from crashing is when the donation sign pops up, donate or else your application will start to crash again.

I am so thankful that all these works are on my cell phone and computer for study! I try to listen to at least a chapter every morning while showering and getting dressed for the day. I purchased a speaker for use so I could listen more easily. I have almost gotten through the Conflict of the Ages series and have copied and sent many other selected truly inspirational paragraphs to family and friends. I plan on going through them again. What a blessing this is to have! Thank you Ellen White Estate for your unselfish publication of God’s messages for this time in history!

Great App. I give it five stars for everything today contains in the execution which is well done.
In terms of improvement, one thing I would love to see is better controls for the audio player. It would be nice to be able to skip backward or forward in 15 seconds or 30 second increments.
Another improvement, I would love to be able to listen to the audiobook of Messiah. Then there are a few other books that sound like they are read by a computer generated voice instead of buying a real human being. If it would be possible to get audio book quality recordings of those books, that would be excellent!

Hello, Ellen White Estate. Please consider. I hope someday EGWWritings2 would improve on its note. I would like to be able to make the title of the note longer and I would like to be able to see the titles in full in the index such as the Study Center and the add Select Folder when saving to note. Titles are usually cut off when long and this causes confusion. I would like to see custom notes size along with the boxes of study center widen instead of 20% of the right side of the screen. Tools such as highlighter, italic, etc. for note. A confirmation button to delete note is essential. I’ve accidentally clicked on the trash icon deleting my precious notes

This is such a great app for today’s user, it was to many years ago that one had to care books along on your journeys and to carry several plus the Bible it was not the easiest way to read when you had a moment to. To me at my age of 68 this is the best of the best, when I have a few minutes all I have to do is get my phone out and open EGWWritings2 and I can read about God’s love for me and everyone else in this stressful time that we are in. I always have God’s word close to heart when I need it the most, and I can share God’s word with my family and friends as I need to but most of all I have it close by when I have a a moment that I can share God’s word with someone in need. Thanks so much for a great job well done.

I’m enjoying using the split screen option with the devotional. If you open the devotional for the day, and go to the bottom of the page and click on the link to the original article, a pop up allows you to open it in a split screen parallel to the original. You can then see what was edited out to get the devotional down to size. Often you will discover some real gems doing this. You’ll also discover that often what is edited out are the Scripture passages and you discover that the author used Scripture much more than you realized. Happy studying!

I especially like the audio books and the Spanish and Portugués language books! And I love having these integrated in the same app. This is priceless. I do hope in future enhancements you will offer upgraded features such as 10-30 seconds fast forward or rewind and skipping to chapters in the audio books. Also features similar to iBooks or Kindle apps. I’m okay with charging for these features as it takes time, skill and money to produce a top knotch application. Thanks so much for this ministry. God’s blessings to you and the entire staff!

Thank you so much for EGWWritings2! And thank you that it is free! I especially love the audio books.
I gave it a 4 because after only a short time I’ve had 2 difficulties: when I start an audio book and leave, it starts over when I return. I haven’t found the “fast forward button.” Secondly I find the search function fairly primitive, even when I start in the book I want to search.
I plan to use it frequently and expect it to become more intuitive to use with experience.

I happen to know that there are more works of our dear prophet that were published long ago. One particular had to do with the storehouse. Why not publish every work? You know nothing is hidden from our Father in heaven. He will bless those that bless you and curse those who curse you. I not sure of the exact name,,,,God’s storehouse or maybe, where is the storehouse or fleecing of the storehouse... I real would appreciate you putting them on here so we can hear the whole matter. God bless you for the work you have done. Jcraig72

As a mom, I’ve been so busy taking care of little one’s needs. I love EGWWritings2 as I can save highlights and categorize them based on topics, and that I can return to the highlights later for review or sharing with others. I also like that it keeps your reading history logged so you don’t lose your spot where you were reading a book, even though that may have been completed weeks prior. Thank you EGWWritings2 developing team! May God bless your work!

I love having access to all these books as well and audio for many of them and all for free!!
There is room for improvement, especially with regards to navigation with the audio. It would also be nice to be able to save or bookmark where you stopped listening. I would also love it if I could see which audio books I have already downloaded, if there could be a separate list for that it would be awesome.
But for a free app this is amazing!!!!

For the last 46 years her writings have been a light to my understanding of God’s love, wisdom and mercy. I have read the Great controversy in 3 different languages 5 times and each time I found a new revelation that I failed to understand previously perhaps wisdom comes with stronger faith and age. What I find heart breaking is that the 7th SDA church as well as the Florida hospitals presidents/ directors and people in higher places at these Adventist Health Institutions don’t have the slightest idea WHO or WHAT E.G.White wrote about food/ diet and health- it is a disgrace and embarrassment!!!!

I like EGWWritings2. Thank you for making all these publications accessible. I bought all the writings on cd awhile back when it was discounted to $20. The only thing that I have a difficult time with with EGWWritings2 is when I want to do a search with the publication paragraph and page. Sometimes I have a hard time finding things. Other than that I am thankful to have all this information at my fingertips on my phone. Thank you so much and God bless you.

My wife and I are in charge of Wednesday night prayer meeting, so each week we have a chapter read to us on a mobile speaker from the audio part of your app, from our phones. At the end of the reading we discuss what has been read, it is so beautiful that bring us to tears. Thank you so much for having this available, to bring the words of Sister White to us at no cost. Your crowns will be so heavy in heaven, you will not be able to wear them

EGWWritings2 is amazing, it truly is the full gospel and spirit of prophecy going to the world.
Please take advantage of this to absorb as much information as possible while time permits!
I love the reading history and the listening history sections which allow you to stop and come back right where you left off hours or days later after going out of EGWWritings2 .
EGWWritings2 has and is still transforming my life just in the nick of time, Praise The Lord!
Thank You So Much
