Chinese Stroke Order Character Reviews

I bought ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter because my kid wanted to listen to the sound of the strokes and the free version doesn’t have it and says I have to purchase the pro version. But the pro version doesn’t have it either. It is useless. Very disappointed. The support link is broken and I couldn’t find any contact email.

I got ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter to help my little brother on Chinese but it is so dumb ads pop up every single Second and won’t let me do anything anymore!!! I hate ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter more than anything

Every action is assaulted with a pop-up trying to get you to give them money. You don’t get to try ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter at all.

Just ads, no idea how to work. Not intuitive. Tried many options, just ended up watching more ads. Useless, but there are many apps much better so no problem.

It asks to track data across other apps. I’m angry because this is a paid app, now I had to delete it to avoid intrusive ads, and I wasted my money.

Pop up audio adds make the free version unusable

I was fine with the occasional ad, but now every time you open ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter you get 2 ads for every character. ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter and these ads also prevents you from listening from audio on another app which is extremely frustrating if I’m trying to study chinese. I don’t know if buying the pro version would even help with preventing my audio from another app from turning off because the ads are just that prevalent. Is the sound turning off due to the ad or because I switched to a different character? Unclear.

I really truly regret updating to the latest version. ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter is great in terms of UX, but there are plenty of online resources that provide the same thing for free — and ad free. I liked the idea of donating “a cup of coffee” to the developers, but who would bother doing that now?

My wife is Chinese and neither of us can get it to say we wrote a character correctly.

Why Do we need PRO VERSION TO USE SOME FEATURES! PLEASE MAKE THEM AVALIVBLE IN THE REGULAR VERSION. I would give you 5 star if you did that.

I’ve tried Skritter + Noodle. While these apps have fancy bells and whistles such as spaced repetition and self testing, Strokes Order is my new go-to for handwriting practice. It has a no-nonsense interface which shows you your actual handwriting strokes instead of an idealized ’perfect’ character that the fancy apps render. This is superior design choice-as knowing where you fall short while writing a character gives you honest feedback and motivation for improvement. The developer is also very responsive. The previous version had a blocky background font for Traditional characters in the handwriting practice mode. I wrote the developer a quick note, and Viola - font background preferences for handwriting practice has now been implemented. Excellent!

Just what I needed as try to learn to write characters. Can enter in whole phrases at a time. Using the apple Chinese keyboard voice to text, the whole process is even more efficient.

Great program. Just what I needed to compliment the the Chinese character books I’m studying. Easy to use and understand. I give this one a thumbs up.

Learning how to write in Chinese with accuracy is no easy feat! ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter takes a lot of the edge off and allows for deeper study which helps with learning the mechanics of the written language! Highly recommended!

I love ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter. But for some reason, after the current update, it no longer rotate to horizontal view anymore when i rotate my ipad. What happened?

I appreciate ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter greatly! As I’m teaching myself to become literate in reading and writing Chinese, stroke order is pretty important to me personally. I love the animated stroke order and the ability to draw/practice on ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter itself. Really helpful and does exactly what it says!

I love ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter. I use it in conjunction with the Google Translate app and it covers everything I need.

This an excellent application for English speakers trying to learn Mandarin. It’s worth it’s weight in gold. The definitions are quite useful, better than Google translate. Chairman Xi should reward this program author as they have done a superior job. It makes learning so much fun. In addition I live the advertising which I find very interesting. The author should become wealthy. May God Bless you for your hard work!

I find ChineseStrokeOrderCharacter very helpful, but there are quite a lot of ads. I recommend going for the pro version
