Private & Secure VPN: TorGuard Reviews

*This is an edit to my previous review below. The current state of PrivateSecureVPN works as it should. I do not have any more negative issues with it, and I am happy with its functionality with Torguard’s VPN service.

I have been a Torguard customer for years now. PrivateSecureVPN stopped working, and after hours of customer service, the only suggestion given to me was “download OpenVpn Connect app.” Then, I was directed by customer support to Torguard’s website directions to configure that app, and the website is using an outdated year-old version of iTunes. Very disappointing.

Don't pay attention to the reviewers who give unfavorable reviews because they can't think to reach out to the technical support people first. Oftentimes the Torguard tech support can help you resolve any issues you may be experiencing with their services. And they are super responsive. So, before you rush to give them a bad review, do your part first and see if they can help you. It may just be a couple settings that need to be changed on your end.

The service is great!
I wasn’t happy when they removed the ability to install openvpn profiles via PrivateSecureVPN , but their recent update added Openvpn support directly to PrivateSecureVPN , so that’s great!
PrivateSecureVPN could use some improvement:
- The Secure WiFi feature isn’t working. It stays on the VPN even when it’s on a marked secure network
- There’s a second place to login with account credentials, but they don’t give any explanation as to why that’s needed. The VPN seems to work fine without it.
- Should be able to configure excluded networks by adding the one you are currently connected to without having to type it in manually
- Should be able to configure what networks to auto connect on without having to disconnect.
- Would be nice to have an option to automatically use the vpn on any unsecured WiFi network, not just all except manually excluded.
Most of these problems have been there for quite a while, so not the best in terms of support speed.

This is the best VPN in comparison with creating your own. It is expensive but do use the coupon codes and ensure that you contact support for your questions. As other people said do not rush to conclusions and just give them a bad review. They are not a huge company, they are doing what they can in an industry of scammers and companies that just buying “Reviewers” and “influencers”. I enjoy the stream IPs and they work better than any alternative VPN ones.

I’ve been using Torguard for years now, and I’m very happy. I’ve tried several others that are rated highly, but Netflix or whoever knew I was using a blocker. If that happens with Torguard there has always been a solution. And the tech support is fantastic. I have given them a workout with my lack of tech knowledge, yet they keep helping me and are very pleasant, even after days of questions.

Alright, so for the past YEAR, the vpn servers were working on any iPads or iPhones no matter what server or protocol I tried!! I know the reason! I’ve sent many feedbacks telling the team to bring STEALTH MODE to the mobile device version! This mode works perfectly on my laptop and the speed is reasonable, but because this stealth mode is not present in mobile device version, it is IMPOSSIBLE to connect with your iPad or iPhone if you are based in China!!! So please, take this seriously and update PrivateSecureVPN version with STEALTH MODE!!!!

Torguard is worth every penny as a paid and versatile VPN solution. Plenty of servers and connection protocols to help you browse safely on any public networks or when you want to shore up your home connections. The protocol choices are great for getting around content filters and other things like speed throttling and connection limits at places like hotels and airports.

The new pro membership is awesome. The servers are super fast. And customer service is as a good as before. Though they canceled live chat. However, after open a ticket, I usually could expect a reply within a minute. And all my problems solved via support center. I would highly recommend TorGuard.

I downloaded a few months ago and it was working great. It honestly still works well at protecting my information, but the problem I’m having is that it often interferes with my ability to connect to the internet on my phone and has interfered with iMessage as well. I’ve recently updated and make sure to stay on top of it but it still interferes with them sometimes, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

First of all, additional servers like dedicated streaming IPs are not automatically detected and added to the list like they are on AndroidTV. This would be great to see added.

Another thing is to allow favoriting additional IPs. If I set my view to favorite only to only show the IPs I want, the dedicated ones do not show up since I cannot favorite them.

I have been using TorGuard for a few years now and have been quite pleased with the service. They’ve made incremental improvements during this time that have made the service faster and more reliable.

You may actually want to look into this instead of being so dismissive of other reviewers with similar issues. Yes, you’ve got lots of positive reviews, but doesn’t mean that everyone is having the same experience.

I have reinstalled PrivateSecureVPN and power cycled my device already. Device is on iOS 14.4, and whenever I set the country, it just freezes. The big circle connect is unresponsive.

PrivateSecureVPN has performed marvelously and is really simple to set up and use. The one time I did need some help, these guys were really attentive and relentless in helping me. After years of being a customer, I simply cannot recommend this service highly enough.

I have been using TorGuard for over 15 years, always great speeds. Over the years many upgrades have been done new features like WireGuard like AD blocking and now switching servers without disconnecting from VPN just proves that TorGuard will never stop innovate! TorGuard never let me down, I recommend it

I’ve had top-notch functioning. PrivateSecureVPN on multiple devices all works great. I even had a problem with billing which was worked out by management in a wonderful way which I am truly grateful to them for. I Will always stay with TorGuard

9.5 times outta 10 I have no issues with PrivateSecureVPN. It’s fairly quick, can best filtering firewalls and provides peace of mind when I’m traveling or just need to secure my internet connection. Would highly recommend this product

Every time I use TorGuard ( connect to any location) I get a million spam calls within a few day period. Really annoying, even happened after just going on social security website, I think it might have something to do with the way the software is installed on the apple products. Anyone else have this issue?

Can’t say enough good things about this. I do wish there was a way it could shut off for Netflix and then turn itself back on when exciting PrivateSecureVPN but I’m not sure if that’s even possible.

A really phenomenal VPN service, though not the simplest or most intuitive out there it is by far the most versatile. Their customer service is absolutely excellent as well which is a huge bonus in my book

Love how simple it is to use with my iPhone. Use it in my windows laptop frequently as well. Customer for well over 5 years. Easy customer service when you need it too.

Previously, I had left a negative review because the update caused new issues in reestablishing my VPN connection on wifi/cellular network changes. The issue has resolved itself (no changes on my end or TorGuard’s end). I left the negative review for a while since the devs said it was blatantly obvious it was fake, despite it being a legit review from a legit customer (just as this review is).

For whatever reason the service is back to its normal self - robust, fast, seamless, and secure. Other VPN’s tend to fail quietly, leaving you vulnerable (I’ve used several). TorgGuard is the best I’ve found at not only staying connected, but acting as a kill-switch until the connection is secured.
