The app will take your order just fine, but if you want curbside service and press “I’m here” you will never get the order unless you call them on the phone. The employee who finally brought my order told me that they were not getting notified that the customer was there, so they know the app is defective. What makes it so bad is that the app says that employees have been notified.
By the time I got home, my food was barely warm, and my fries were soggy.
This has happened to me twice. Once might be a fluke, but twice indicates that it is an ongoing problem. The app has not been updated updated in 9 months, so apparently City BBQ does not want my business.

A new City BBQ opened near us, so I ordered from the app 3-4 days after they opened. The wait time for pick up was given as 75 to 85 minutes. I got a confirmation email that said I would receive a text giving me further instructions for pick up. I never got any texts from them, even though I double-checked to make sure they had my correct number. When I went to pick up the food, I had to go inside since I never received any text. They hadn’t even started my order, and they told me that two of the meats I ordered were sold out. I finally got my food almost 2 hours after I had originally ordered in the app. In the meantime, I watched people coming in off the street and ordering at the counter, then getting their food within five minutes! Why have an app if you are going to de-prioritize all of the orders coming in from it?

I opened the app to place an order to pickup on my way home. Apparently the app has been redesigned, so I had to login again (always very annoying). I switched to my password app and looked up my login info, then went back to the City BBQ app to login, and it rejected me - even though I’ve used the app to place orders literally dozens of times, the new version wouldn’t let me login because my password, the same password I’ve used in the app for years now, wasn’t long enough. The app refused to accept my login because my existing login was prohibited now. Then I selected the “reset password” link, which took 10-15 minutes to work, at which point I was already past the restaurant and almost home. So, the app-redesign caused me to miss the chance to use the app to place an order. Suggestion: get app developers who aren’t morons.
