Can’t get notification to work

It always says there’s an error when I try to create a notification

Horrible experience

I’ve been trying to apply on the website and this place adopt is horrible blocks the application freeze and takes me to thing that don’t know how I ended up there if I only press continue after I entered my information and the pet I was trying to adopt was available at the moment that I was applying to but after This nonsense app took me to nowhere when I try again the pet was already with pending adoption very frustrating it is easier to go to the locations look a the pets and apply right there I just hope they go back to allow people to visit the pets shelters soon

Cannot receive matches

I will have to give the site 1 star because I am not receiving the matches, I set up the notifications and I’m getting texted with the matches and when I check the inbox, nothing! The matches are not even in the browsing, so I can’t see what’s being sent to me.

Neither browser or app work

If you apply your search filter and press apply nothing comes up but a loading gray page. That won’t come off, it won’t allow you to go back and even if you close and reopen it will only show the grey page that won’t load anything

I’m mad

I feel like they choose people that they I’ve been up here for a while trying to adopt a small dog and every time I love someone else is getting it I fill out the paperwork I do everything I need to be done and I seem not to be getting a dog so that makes me feel some type away so that’s why I gave one star really didn’t want to give any to be honest

What did I just pay for? Is this another Scam?

I just saw a picture of a dog on a social media site and as I was looking, I directed to ACCofNYC. I figured I’d look at it in ACCofNYC so I could get more details on the needs of the dog that I was interested in finding out about. When I installed ACCofNYC , I was informed that my payment was accepted. I came back to ACCofNYC to find out more about how ACCofNYC works AND what the payment was and how much I was charged. I’m well aware that I could look at my account but I just don’t understand why you would charge people to help the animals find a home. I was looking at a dog that desperately needs a foster home. Now, I don’t even see her anymore. The way you advertise and encourage people to get ACCofNYC without informing them that they will be charged is a shady way of doing business? I thought you were an animal shelter/advocate?

Upset with visit

I was very upset today as I felt my inquiries were dismissed without regard to my interests. Maybe the cat I was interested in was not appropriate for my situation but rather than have a pleasant conversation about it, I felt dismissed. I left there feeling irritated and as a result did not find a cat that I could adopt. This is unfair not only to me but to the animals in your care. Please note I would like a small cat that does not require a great deal of medical care as I am in a wheelchair and going to a vet frequently could be problematic. I will of course have them under regular veterinary care. Please treat potential adopters with more sensitivity in the future

Nice viewing gallery, good luck on actually getting the pet

I think the layout and design of ACCofNYC is amazing. However what I find frustrating is that frequently pets that are pending adoption are left in the searchable results, and they will be listed as pending adoption for weeks if not longer.

If you do actually find a pet of interest, you can apply, but there seems to be an extraordinary long delay, then very limited slots for going to actually view the animal and when you call to inquire, majority of the time even though it says your application is pending, the pet has already been adopted. Except for once when I was told the pet was already adopted, and then randomly out of the blue several months later I get a call that the pat has been in foster care and wondering if I’m interested.

In my opinion, you don’t get your hopes high on ACCofNYC , just try to find time in your schedule during business hours to actually attend one of the shelters

In Search

Sad for me haven’t been contacted about a dog or a cat. That’s why rating ACCofNYC is two stars. No help

I wish there was a way to search by profile name/ID

I follow NYCACC on Instagram. They often share profiles of dogs and cats that are looking for their forever home but I don’t see a way to go directly to the pet’s individual profile in the Browse section on the mobile app. I know there is a Status Search section where you can look up if an ID is still available for adoption but even in that section, there is no way to review the pet’s profile page. A profile search that goes directly to the pet’s profile description would be super helpful.

Filter options for dogs that are

The filtering options are very limited. It seems as though whenever I look through the filtering options to see about the type of dog they name you have it’s always the ones that are not adoptable, or only looking for a partner. Which frustrates me because I spent all this time searching for a pet whom I thought were an option just isn’t even an option. And for the ones with behavior issues please include that as a filtering option…it’s hard to keep track of which dog has an issue

Easy to navigate

Great app. Easy to navigate. If I had one suggestion it’s to add a filter to search for dog friendly animals for families that already have 1 dog and would like to adopt another.

Nyc acc

ACCofNYC is very user friendly
It help if the keys in foster write a review so the user can find out more information

It would help if a breed or a breed mix is listed
I adopt and rescue beagles
But the way it is now I would have to look at every dig to see if you had one

Love

Very easy to use love your guys work

Good First Step - Suggested Improvements

1). Create the ability for people to proactively set notification alerts (push, email, text, etc) for breeds they have a stated interest in.

2). Related to the above, enable push notifications (definitely by preselected breed interest, but also other notifications - however other types of notifications should be limited so that people don't delete ACCofNYC or turn off notifications due to frequency).

3). Create a 'recent adoptables' section within ACCofNYC that highlights animals that have been added to ACCofNYC in intervals (24 hours,48 hours,1 week, etc) to give people a reference point so that they don't continually scroll through all available animals (eg all dogs) if they've already evaluated the list. This wouldn't be to discourage people from fully looking through the full list again (everyone shares the same goal of getting these animals adopted), but would create easily identifiable areas where people could look for the latest updates and keep people engaged with ACCofNYC .

This app makes me happy 😁🫶

ACCofNYC makes me love life. I love seeing all the good dogs and other animals I think that they are so cute and adorable. Makes me sad that they don't all have homes. Love all the dogs and it makes me so happy when I look up a dog and it's not there because it got adopted or sent to a better place like another animals shelter. 😁🫶

How could you not love!

I mean… puppies! I’ve rescued 2 already and I thank ACCofNYC for my 2 lovebugs. They are the sweetest. I have to secretly check ACCofNYC now because my husband will leave me if he catches me on it. He says we have too many (there’s actually 3 of them but 2 from ACC). How could anyone have too many sweet fur babies?! Adopt, Adopt, Adopt, people!

Great app for NYC

Easy to use and find an available pet in NyC!

ACC

ACCofNYC is great in helping you find your furever pet!!

Regarding banjo BABY

This is such a beautiful cause connecting people with a best friend not just a pet. I was out my first time around because I didn’t pay attention to the name. Banjo is so sweet but he is literally a baby. If your not willing to let him follow you into the shower while u bath(WAX) or even use the toilet it won’t work. He is the definition of a baby he follows u around like a lost puppy and saying it like this makes me wanna cry because he was abandoned so he has separation anxiety and I wish I could have kept him but if you have a house where your neighbors are far away or your home is sound proof he is not for you. He cries when you leave the room. Tedious is was but it was adorable when I sat on the floor for 3 hours watching tv and ever so often he’d pop his head up to make sure I was still there if I wasn’t he’d run to the door or just start barking and if u get up to leave and he can’t follow he barks.
