I thought this app would be great

This is the 4th time I am using HY. I used it three times for rashes and once for a bad cold. I was actually helped with the cold but had to go to an actual doctor because the help I received on this app did nothing for the rashes and moreover prolonged my problems with them.

My first few experience with this app were decent in terms of wait time and customer service, but my last two experiences with either were very bad. I had serious technical issues with the process that wasted a lot of my time. First of all, the video waiting room never shows up in a dashboard, so if I make a video appointment an hour away, I can’t let my phone sleep or use any other apps during the wait or I will loose my appointment. So now I do phone calls only and last night I revived 3 phone calls that hung up as soon as I answered them. Then the customer support argued with me / invalidated me about whether that happened! It was ridiculous and unnecessary because all I wanted to do was be added back to the beginning of this list because that was a technical issue and not my fault. So I’m trying that appointment again this morning but worry that the same thing will happen and that I wont receive any help from customer support.

I like the concept of HY but have not had good results whether or not they can successfully connect me with a doctor. After today I might not think it’s worth it to ever try again.

Appointments don’t start on time

Healthiest You is easy to sign up for and gives a lot of benefits. My purpose in downloading it was for therapy specifically. To sign up for therapy you need a separate log in from Healthiest you which is annoying and once you log in it’s not easy to navigate. After some digging I finally found the therapy sign up area. Found a therapist that did Saturday morning appointments and scheduled the visit. Morning of my appointment I log in early to get ready but there is no way to start the call or wait in the waiting room. My call was suppose to start at 7am it’s now almost 7:30 and have not heard from my provider. I did call Healthiest You to troubleshoot and all they said was that my provider is just running late and the appointment would still happen. I questioned if this was normal because we’re 20 minutes late is my appointment still going to be an hour or cut short? She couldn’t answer only tell me that the appointment is still happening. Not helpful, provider still hasn’t called, and wasted my time. Don’t recommend.

App and Website don’t work

HY doesn’t work. I had a visit with a doctor and HY just kept pulling up errors when I clicked on the link to join. I had to eventually go to the website where I was met with a bunch of other errors. Finally got it to work but the doctor said I was “showing up twice” but I only had it pulled up on my computer screen in one tab and it was completely closed on my phone. Then I had another meeting a month later and HY won’t give me access. Anything I clicked on I got a pop up saying there was an error and told me to call support. Called support and they told me I have the wrong number and they are with Teladoc and can’t help HealthiestYou. I tried resetting my password and never got an email (checked my spam a million times) and the email I entered was correct. I have never struggled with an app like I have with this one.

I’ll update if this is just a fluke due to weekend holiday

I bought this telehealth stuff through my employer, which is a school, at the beginning of the pandemic in March. I read reviews about how backlogged they were so I never used it until now, which is July 5th, middle of the night. I went to our 50th annual family reunion a few days ago and came back with what I’m 99% sure is a brown recluse bite. Living in Oklahoma and Arkansas for almost 40 years, I’ve somehow never gotten one, but I’ve known many people who have. HY said I’d receive service in less than 10 minutes and I’ve been waiting roughly two hours and it’s crashed once. This was an estimate, granted, but that’s a pretty crappy estimate. Now it’s coming up on 5am, and I’m up much later than I intended. If this is a recluse bite, which I’m near certain it is, rest is a main component of healing. It just takes the convenience out of it when the wait times are so incredibly off track. I recognize that’s a very first world problem to have, but still. How long is too long to sit and wait? 5 hours?

I felt the doctor was rude and insensitive

I scheduled a call today and upon telling my doctor what was wrong with me. I was met with questions and I felt as if she were accusing me of Doctor shopping. I am not a doctor so I started with what I felt was important so I listed more of the symptoms because it’s always better to know more than less information. I was getting confused with what she was asking me. I am at work so tried to be open but discreet. I know something is wrong and cannot afford to take off work to go to the hospital nor do I have the funds. I told her I just went to the doctor and was checked out Dec 26, 2024 and nothing was wrong this is something new. Upon our conversation it turned left because she said that basically she was confused and I needed to see someone in person in which I replied can I just go back in the queue to speak to someone else not to Doctor shopping but to see if there were anyone else that could help me. I guess she was offended and I was told I was being discontinued as a patient.

App is buggy as heck and won’t work

I have a membership to this service, but every time I try to start an appointment for my sick child it returns an Internal Server Error and won’t proceed. The first time it was about requiring her to register first but didn’t say how. Eventually I found where to register, but when it requires me to select a pharmacy, it returns the same error no matter which pharmacy I select, and thus I cannot proceed to actually have an appointment.

Tech support is closed until tomorrow (I opened a ticket) and there’s no option to bypass the not-working pharmacy setting (even if I set a preferred one first, I can’t select it during registration without the same error) to actually talk to a doctor, and thus HY is entirely useless other than for wasting time.

The problems exist on my wife’s phone with the latest iOS 15 and on my phone with the latest iOS 16 both, so it’s not a matter of using old or unsupported systems, it’s clearly a problem with this specific app and the system behind it failing.

Awful

I have nothing but bad things to say about HY. Sadly, it’s 100% free and I still have nothing good to say. Out of everyone, only ONE doctor has ever been nice to me on here. Other than that, I had a therapist say she would do this and that to help me and completely ghosted me! How reassuring for my ailing mental health! I’ve had doctors who won’t even listen to what I have to say. Today was the last straw with a doctor who immediately said I had something that didn’t even align with my symptoms… when I decided to voice my opinion he went on to say “well I can’t diagnose that obviously that would have to get tested at urgent care” followed by him insisting it was one thing. The after visit summary, he diagnosed me with what I said I had to begin with. That’s beyond frustrating because 1. I was gaslighted. 2. I received no medical advice or care for what I’m currently dealing with. It was just me dealing with another rude doctor on this platform. I’m not sure why they are so incompetent. Idk how anyone has anything good to say about HY but maybe it’s just the doctors in Utah who need to get their stuff together.

It’s free for a reason. Worst care I’ve ever received

I have never had a good experience with HY. First of all it takes them forever to actually get connected to me, they always seem to be “backed up” when I do finally get to speak with a doctor they tell me “you should be fine, if it gets worse go to the ER” ok well I wouldn’t be in contact with these doctors if I was already “fine” I had busted a blood vessel in my lip while brushing my teeth and caused my lip to swell suddenly. My lip was huge! I couldn’t even close my mouth all the way and the doctor told me I should be fine, and to continue taking Benadryl because he assumed it was an allergic reaction. This doctor never asked me any questions about what happened right before my lip started swelling or anything else that had happened that day. Luckily I called a friend who suggested I popped a blood vessel and told me to stop taking Benadryl and start taking Ibuprofen because the swelling is injury related no allergy related. These doctors probably could have figured that out if they took the time to care but instead they told me I was fine and did whatever they could to end my phone call with them.

Confusing Overall

Son needed to see a dr. No information on how to request a visit for him if under 18. Learned the primary insurance holder has to create an account first which would have been helpful to know prior to creating the spouse (mother) account. After completing info, says to go to waiting room. Get a call and says dr is there but we had app open to screen and nothing happened. Get a text asking if I still needed dr. And had to wait again. Next dr joins with message saying he’s reviewing medical records. Dr never joined, no text or email like it said I would get, just cancelled visit. 3rd time had to start over…next dr joins..finally works. Visit was fine, confirmed what we were thinking, but seemed irritated if we asked a question. Didn’t really ask about medical history, current meds, etc. it was more or less - looks like this and sent an Rx over to pharmacy. Now can’t find any info on Rx called in or details. Visit info under my son produces error. Messages from dr. Just says to f/u in 4 days if not better. No email info. Whole app and process is frustrating. Used telehealth in past and this one is not worth the time or frustration.

Worst app ever

Worst app ever. I have been using it for 1.5 years and I’ve never had a therapist appointment where we didn’t come across technical issues. Video feature works 1 out of 10 times MAYBE. Most of my therapy sessions have been over the phone which is not effective at all. The only reason I continue to use it is because it’s paid for with my tuition on the grad school I am attending. I don’t have other insurance so beggars can’t be choosers. I’ve sent so many messages to the help department and they can’t seem to fix anything. No improvement in any of the issues I’ve encountered in the last 1.5 years. Baffling. Desktop info doesn’t match app info. Appointment times show incorrectly. If you are looking to pay to get service- stay away from HY/company.
- Update
It’s been over two years - HY has gotten worse. Still using cause it’s free through grad school.
Majority of the time app doesn’t even work. Freezes. Doesn’t allow appointments to be made over video (often chooses phone as default). Both desktop and app versions are extremely frustrating and 90% of the time do not work. Despite countleee troubleshooting emails I’ve sent - nothing has improved.

App doesn’t work

I’m very dissatisfied with HY. Every time I try to login I can’t. It brings up a number for me to call instead. I deleted HY and tried again - created a new password then logged in and my session expired - before I was even able to do anything on HY . I don’t want to call - I want to do everything from HY . In the past, two years ago when our school district gave us this option, HY worked great. Not sure what has happened.

I used HY about a month ago and ended up calling because HY wouldn’t work and talked with someone that I couldn’t understand and he had to read all the disclaimers that I would have seen on HY . He had to repeat himself several times because of not understanding him - once again very frustrating. I give HY two stars because I finally got to a Doc who was very friendly and to the point. I’m frustrated with HY - not the doctors.

Well. The features are nice, but..

I use HY to talk with my therapist and although I love how HY is SUPPOSED to function… it doesn’t function well. I’m ALWAYS having issues and the professionals do too. HY won’t let me view my messages half the time or buffers out and just closes HY completely. I wish there was some sort of chat function on it too. This way, in this case my therapist, can contact me through the chat about how she’s having some technical difficulties and can’t get to me. Or vise versa. The video portion is horrendous on HY as well. Never connects me. And I even have issues through the browser sometimes. No. It’s not my internet.

That being said, I love the apps features and being able to schedule appointments/ finding the appropriate things for whatever I need. I just really wish it was updated to fix a lot of the bugs on there.

Administration of visits

I appreciate the services provided by the professional. Using app to communicate with that same professional each session is arduous and overly complex. I cannot find how to get notifications within HY to appear on the phone screen. If the appointment confirmation is missed because of this, I must start all over to describe my symptoms to request another appointment with the same professional. It would be helpful for it to acknowledge the miss and start from where you left off. Also, old appointment schedules disappear from the notes. You can choose to be sent an email w/the info. If the message center through HY is the only way to communicate, why would a separate email be needed? If email is possible, why can that not be a more regular means of communication rather than using the isolated app? That interface is awkward.

Helpful but on 65%

Getting medical help was great. Got an appointment the same day and saved me a trip to the doctor that probably would have been a couple of days later. Mental/counseling help - not helpful at all. I have tried 4 times to get an appointment each with a different person. I chose from the available dates and times for each (3 appointment options for each one). All have been rejected and only a couple responded with possible times that were weeks out. If the times aren’t available, they shouldn’t be posted. This service is supposed to provide for timely and convenient help. Trying to get mental/counseling help through this service has only compounded my issues. My son experienced the same problem getting mental/counseling help from this service.

Below average

I want to point out First that the convenience of doing a video conference with the doctor is awesome. Unfortunately HY and the technology is still a little bit behind. Our phone service is not optimum at our house. Therefore, video conferencing, or using Internet is key and yet for over a year that we have had healthiest you we have not been able to video conference except for one time today. I have tried to get with a physician for well over three hours and I keep getting pushed to a waiting room. It says somebody’s reviewing my chart and then nothing happens or the phone times out. The technology needs to be improved and then HY will be amazing

Excellent!

A chest cold has been morphing into something a little more serious. With COVID-19 taking root, I didn’t want to go to the ER, doctor, or med express for a condition that is serious, but not an emergency. I also needed answers in the middle of the night, instead of having to wait until my primary care physician opened. I remembered last minute that I had access to HY. It did take a couple of hours to get a call back, but this was not such an emergency that I thought I would be harmed much by the short wait. I received a call back, talked to a doctor who walked me through my symptoms and diagnosis. She also screened me for COVID-19 to rule it out and sent prescriptions off right away. Before the call ended, she emphasized certain health procedures related to my diagnosis and keeping healthy at this trying time.

This was such a wonderful process and I appreciate the care offered.

Must have for parents

You wouldn’t believe how often I use this with myself and for my kids. My favorite use is when my kids’ daycare requires a doctors note. This saves me time and money when I would otherwise not go to the doctor. The doctors we have spoken with are very helpful. They have been particularly good when I don’t know if I should see a doctor. While they can not diagnose an ear infection in a baby, they will call in antibiotics if your older kiddos complain of ear pain. They have diagnosed allergic reactions and skin irritations. I love knowing I can call a professional at my convenience without waiting for my primary care physician to open or have availability. A godsend for a working mom.

Don't be misled

Initially I had the same troubles as everyone who wrote the bad reviews so I had deleted HY and gave up on the entire use of the this app app. My fellow coworkers had voiced positive review and results to the use of HY. I had told myself it just wasn't for me. Until the day I got the flu and was dying! Another coworker told me she had used HY and it had worked for her. She told me to reload HY and try it again. So I did, out of desperation. And this time, it worked! It worked very well! So I encourage everyone to delete HY and reload it and reset it. It works! My lifesaver! And the doctor guaranteed me a note to excuse me from work for 48 hours. Like I say--try it again! It works!!

Horrible Service Do NOT Download

Have been trying since last week to see a doctor because app kept saying my request couldn’t be handled and to call the number. You call the number and then are placed on hold for an hour and then the phone hangs up on you. I called customer support and they said there is nothing wrong and to try HY again. This cycle continues for DAYS. Finally I ask to be transferred to request an appointment over the phone. The appointment was FINALLY requested at 3pm. It’s 12:17 am and I still haven’t been called nor is there a way for me to cancel the appointment. Don’t download or waste your money.

Rash - chiggers

Called HealthiestYou and in minutes a doctor called me back. I went to a music in the park event on Wednesday night. On Friday morning I noticed a couple bumps that were itchy. Then my husband said he was getting itchy bumps. Appears our whole group got chiggers even though we were not be water or sand. On Saturday more and more itchy bumps appeared. We tried over the counter cortisone, aspercreme with linocaine, pink lotion, Benadryl, etc. Today, Monday I missed work due to all the itching and called HealthiestYou. Within minutes, the doctor called me and asked a few questions (I uploaded a picture) and sent over the prescription. Thank you HealthiestYou!!!
