Used to be my go-to news feed for the morning commute, even paid for the pro upgrade. App started to crash when phone display goes to sleep in iOS12. App hasn’t been updated for 9 months, other apps by G2 LLC haven’t been updated for years. Abandonware.

Use Apple podcasts with stations instead. Does the same thing but works with Siri and HomePod.

That’s about it. Play back is buggy, there is no ability to jump forward or back in increments, there’s no ability to add your own sources, and, worst of all, it’s $34 For two very basic features. Which is ridiculously overpriced. Bummer because somebody needs to come out with a replacement for the hourly news app which is getting long in the tooth.

You pay for Funnel to support it. Then they try to charge you an additional $9 to automatically play the news when Funnel opens. There is no price warning of $9 charge to unlock “pro” feature until after u pay

Still no fix for these missing vital features.

Almost all my audio entertainment and information is via podcasts and/or streams. I actually keep 3 podcast apps on my iPhone because each has features I want/need. I would enjoy having an app like this app. With the pro version features it would literally be a one-tap source for news. But 2 major features that most podcast apps have are missing:

1) Registering it with the system as a spoken-word audio app. Because it is not recognized as such, if I am using a Navigation app the voice directions speak on top of the news playback. Subsequently I can’t hear several seconds of the news I’m listening to which usually leads to missing information relevant to the story.

2) Ability for short skips backward and forward in playback. You know this feature: you missed something and you want to go back a few seconds to hear it again. Or maybe you want to skip some audio to get to something else. Even more disappointing is that it doesn’t have these commands available via Bluetooth like most all other major non-Apple podcast apps do.

I’ll be monitoring this app’s updates in case they add these must have features. When they do, I’ll pay for the pro version. In the meantime I’m glad I got the basic version when it was free.

This is the one app I use DAILY. I started to notice bugs with it and figured if I upgraded to the pro purchase that might resolve them but it still continues. I would like to cancel the purchase as it’s not helping.

I really like Funnel, it's great for what it does and i use it several times a week. A glaring omission is a 10 sec back and 10 sec forward skip found in all podcasting apps. Please add this simple feature in and I'll gladly review it at 5 stars.

Funnel takes somewhat high data and even on a wifi connection it needs a pretty high one to load the news. The other thing I really want is offline saving. For example when m going to my job I want to download all the available news for that time and listen offline. That would be a nice thing. Funnel is beautiful. I like the minimum features. No need to mess with many settings this way. Just open and start listening.

I like Funnel. I used to listen to individual news bulletins on individual streams. But with Funnel I get news from around the world all in one place. Very convenient. But also very useful in helping notice the American media lying about or misrepresenting reality.

Maybe if Funnel also featured news from South Africa, Australia, and an English-speaking Asian market that would be good too.

This is a very handy app, I just wish the authors would make two changes.
1. Make it rotate for use on an iPad.
2. Put the PLAY button on the right and make it larger than the Add to Siri button.

Very useful app for catching up what's going on in the world just in a couple of minutes. It would be wonderful if you could add some other news channels like local News agencies. At the end please volume up VOA part :-D Thanks

I love the fact that while working out at the gym, I can listen to the news.

Really like Funnel , give 5minutes of top news and there are several stations to choose from. Glad I got Funnel !

this app is the best source for hourly audio news summaries. I stay up to date with the latest news by listening every day. Request: please put SRN News back on! Ty

It is pleasant to see some news with a different spin (much less I think) than the regular broadcast news.

We need a way to choose the audio output / source. It would be great to be able to download. Minimalism is great, but Funnel needs a little more function.

My use case: in the shower every morning I say “hey siri play NPR” then I get the most current hourly update. That’s it. No ads, no audio commercials, no switching to another news source I don’t care about. A great effortless way to start the morning.

If it just had the ability to skip back or forward 5 10 or 30 seconds.
