Dev listens to fans/users

Update 2: I can finally give BetterHabitsofHealth five stars. Jared has put a lot of thought, research and work into BetterHabitsofHealth. I can't get myself to do anything daily without the nag feature. Thanks for brining back classic nagging! If only it worked with Snoozing, but I understand it's a limitation of iOS, not BetterHabitsofHealth .

Update: I have come to rely on BetterHabitsofHealth to remind me to run. Its nag feature is genius. I also love the graph over the last few weeks of your ability to stick to the task. Thanks for the habit tool! Truly one that is useful.

If this had an option to remind you multiple times a day to stretch or drink water, I would give it five stars. As is, it will help me with habits that need performed once a day.

Probably a Killer App, I’ll Find Out

EDIT: I WAS RIGHT!

It was user error. I set all the settings correctly in BetterHabitsofHealth , but had disallowed notifications in Settings>Notifications>Better Habits...

I may be back to bump to 5 stars... lemme use it first...

Later same day...

All my editorializing today has been after the daily reminders; I just saw a “2” badge on BetterHabitsofHealth icon; I searched every menu option I can find and cannot find the source of the red 2 on my dock app icon...

(Original Post)

It is probably user error.

I’ve had BetterHabitsofHealth for two or more months. I thought I set reminders in the beginning, but I’ve never been reminded. Being reminded and tracking actual behavior is why I bought BetterHabitsofHealth .

This morning I was looking at the apps in my iPhone 7 Plus dock. The fourth one was a blue icon with what looked like a mountain range on it. I clicked it. It’s BetterHabitsofHealth. I recalled getting it and the zero assistance provided and began this review.

I’m not a newbie and also have a Series 3 Apple Watch. If the developer follows these reviews, I may find that I am up and running in no time. In that case, my revision may include 5 stars.

I love the concept. Help me make it work.

Better Habits: Real Motivation.

This is by far the best app I have ever used to motivate me to perfect or change habits in my life. The progress of your habits will either advance or slide back wards everyday, depending what you record. It is positive reinforcement whether it is a good move or not. You can see what is happening everyday with no sugar coating any lapses. The affirmations are point on and yet subtle. This is the only scientifically based app I have encountered. It has helped me form positive habits and this is the first app I checkout when I wake up. It is unbelievably easy to use. I recommend BetterHabitsofHealth to everyone whether you want to create or break a habit. BetterHabitsofHealth will deliver. 👍🏻

Life changer!

Okay, who really thinks that a three dollar app can change your life? I bought BetterHabitsofHealth on a whim figuring, “Well, maybe it will be useless, but I’ll take a $3 gamble that it might help me with a few things.” I can honestly say that the simple format and clear layout are totally effective. I have already integrated a few habits that were evading me for years! I now recommend BetterHabitsofHealth to all of my coaching clients to help them get their lives in order.

Love the app

I love the soothing colors and the little sounds it makes when you complete a habit for the day. You have the ability to make your own habits, picking a color, picture icon, and difficulty. You can go premium where it shows all of your habits on active display or keep it free where it only shows 3 habits on active display and the rest of the habits are queued. However, when you completely finish a habit, BetterHabitsofHealth crashes. It also crashes when you try to delete a habit, it can get frustrating. Otherwise a great app for creating good habits.

Desperately Needs to be UPDATED

I’ve been a premium user for over a year now. There’s no doubt about it: its application of Nag Reminders to continuously push you to complete a habit for that day is brilliant. I’m astonished that no other habit app has adopted this feature because it makes a huge difference, especially given how easy it is to ignore a single reminder these days. Where BetterHabitsofHealth falls short though is in staying updated.

1) How can you call yourself a serious habits app when you DON’T have an Apple Watch version? Or a Web App version? This makes it difficult for me to quickly check off my habits when I’m working at my Mac, for example, and my phone is on silent. As a professional, this is a frequent experience.

2) The last update was A YEAR AGO. I don’t understand how you can expect users to trust you when you are barely ensuring BetterHabitsofHealth is optimized for the latest iOS.

Because of this I have had to end my subscription and delete Better Habits.

Great but needs to be adjustable

I work third shift so half way though my day it starts a new day. I would like there to be an option to be available for third shift workers. I work from 8pm to 8 am so for those that don’t work third shift that’s like BetterHabitsofHealth resetting at 12 pm. I bought a years subscription but I don’t know if it was the. Best choice as I’ve forced to get stuff done in half the time everyone else is.

Best habit tracking app!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I have to say this is one of the most useful apps I’ve ever had! It gives you motivation to keep going with your good habits, it has a very nice and clean interface, it’s easy to use and just works great! I have already formed to cornerstone habits for my daily life: meditation and reading. Now I’ll keep going with running and journaling.

Went nuts on me

This was a great habit tracker at first but then it went crazy on me. It began “reminding” me to track my habit even when I had checked it off for the day and even when I turned off “nag,” then finally turned off reminder altogether.

I had 3 habits I was tracking so deleted the habit that went nuts. The next night, habit #2 did the same thing. I finally, say, ended up deleting the whole app.

I also noticed that there were days it didn’t track though I pressed them and it also lost stats. So, I couldn’t give it 5 stars (or even close).

This App Provides a Sense of Optimism

I rarely write reviews; however, Better Habits deserves kudos. BetterHabitsofHealth is sleek, intuitive, and easy to use. It is clear the developers combined empirical research with a keen knowledge of programming.

There is an instruction guide divided into concise chunks of information. This guide is accessible and provides a clear understanding of how habits are created. It details a full spectrum of barriers people encounter when attempting to build new behaviors, and provides research backed tips and solutions to overcome these barriers.

It is the integration of the aforementioned knowledge, with the ground-up approach the developers took when building BetterHabitsofHealth that makes it a gem.

I highly recommend Better Habits.

Use it!

The fact that it interacts with you is what keeps me going. I do my goal, press the button and it keeps track of my progress for me! So when I think of sliding off track, so does my progress. Next thing you no I'm still competing against myself to keep my habit!

By

Straightforward and helpful!!

I love how BetterHabitsofHealth is very simple and straightforward about settling and maintaining goals! It hones in on the fundamentals of habits and helps you see your progress. It even lets you do a repeating habit multiple times a day, like drinking multiple bottles of water.

The app I didn’t realize I needed

I thought I had a good handle on keeping up with my habits...Until I started tracking them with BetterHabitsofHealth. Now, I’m able to keep myself accountable throughout the day, and keep track!

Great ideas, but some issues to work on

BetterHabitsofHealth is cleverly designed and promising, but it doesn’t reliably record and track my habits. There’s no way to back up your data in case something goes wrong or you get a new phone and want to transfer your data. The pace of development has also been very slow considering the high costs for the premium membership and the significant limitations on the free version.

By

Great (forgiving) Habit Builder!

I really like how easy BetterHabitsofHealth is to set up and operate. My favorite thing is that you get reminders (not "nags") to build your habits, you can set days of the week (yoga on Mon, Wed, Thur, Sun, for example), and if you miss a day you don't feel like you've failed-you just keep going.

Great Habit Tracker

The most useful app of its type I've come across so far. Simple in both appearance and function, yet it keeps track of progress in a more detailed way than the other apps I've tried. Makes it encouraging and manageable to achieve a habit.

By

A Different Kind of Habit Builder

While most habit apps just let you record your progress, BetterHabitsofHealth actually helps you build habits and see where you are in your pursuit. Well-designed UI, sophisticated without being tricky. Nice job, developers.

Forcing me to take an honest view

BetterHabitsofHealth is forcing me to focus on the habits that are my highest priority and keeping me honest about my efforts. It's transforming my approach to building the life I want by helping me slow down and focus enough to build it.

Keeps me honest. Just wish the notifications were more customizable.
