Unnecessarily added a requirement for an account

I installed FisherPrice on a new phone and as others have noted, now there is a requirement to create an account. For a night light/sound machine? Really?
I luckily still have my previous phone and I am refusing to upgrade FisherPrice on that device so I can maintain control of my Smart Connect device without creating an absolutely unnecessary account that will be linked to my email address.
Please change this Fisher-Price.
If the Smart Connect product line is going to require an account going forward, mine are going to end up in the donation pile, and I will not be purchasing any more.

They’ve Ruined It

I got a message that starting in March of 2024, FisherPrice will no longer connect to my seahorse. Which means we’re stuck with the default settings on the seahorse and won’t be able to use our presets. The default setting is too loud and bright, and not being able to use our quieter and dimmer preset basically means this important soother for my daughter will be unusable. She has been using this her entire life, and she loves it. But now it’s ruined for her.

And Fisher Price is sorry for the inconvenience? What the heck is going on? How hard would it be to continue to support FisherPrice and its devices? I’m sorely disappointed. This company is not what it used to be. It’s all about profit, and they have pennies to save.

Recent change

I loved this deluxe soother so much, I did not have any complaints about FisherPrice , too, until recent update.
With recent change, i had to create an account on Mattel website and login, pair the device again to use the soother. That was ok I thought it would be just one time thing.

Now FisherPrice is asking me to login again and pair the device again! Maybe that is not a big deal if you don’t have a crying baby in your arm or if the soother is right next to you. But that’s not why I got this smart soother for. It is so frustrating please make an update so I wouldn’t need to login and setup the device again unless it is absolutely necessary.

Update is disappointing

Create an account fine. Not a big deal. However the need to consistently pair my soother today my phone is aggravating. Normally is not an issue to walk over and manually turn it in but when you’re sleep training and trying to not enter the room so your child can learn to sleep on her own FisherPrice has been the most helpful tool. That is now terribly disappointing. Sometimes I can’t log in. I have to repair the soother multiple times a week. The updated up has let me down when I need to use it the most. Will likely find another more reliable le product very soon.

Dropping mobile Bluetooth off app

I recently bought a second mobile for my second baby because my first loved it so much and the fact I loved the Bluetooth option. But when I did the up date on FisherPrice they informed me that there dropping the Bluetooth connection for the mobile. That was the whole point in buying the second one so I didn’t have to go into the nursery to turn it on again. Also when you have to re login every time and re sink the mobile every time it is a pain. I not going to walk in wake the baby just to turn on the mobile that’s why I bought Bluetooth.

Update is a joke

Hello, this update is not ok. Firstly I understand the need to have a login however if you are going to force a login you should make sure it works. I created a login got the email and when I try to get into FisherPrice it just goes back to the login screen with the baby on it. This is a app you don’t mess up, because if you do anyone with a baby now has a screaming baby on their hands. Which translates into very upset parents. I want the old app back the way it was or you need to fix this and get everything working the way it was! Until FisherPrice is fixed properly I will not be buying anything more from fisher price. You may have lost a customer for life if you don’t get your stuff together! UNACCEPTABLE!!

If it’s not broken don’t fix it

I got a new phone and had to download FisherPrice again for my deluxe soother... to my dismay it was completely different and not in a good way. I’ve never felt compelled to write a review until now. I went to put the music on the go visuals on for my 9 month old but the comforting animals he used to love were no longer there. I put the music on while searching for the visuals, thinking that I was just not understanding the new set up, and he came crawling toward me with excitement hearing the familiar tune only to be confused why mama wasn’t showing him the animals. This pisses me off. Car rides have been so unpleasant for him (and us) since he was born, but the animals calmed and soothed him stopping him from screaming all the way to our destination. He’s almost 10 months old and all of a sudden one of my favorite features is just taken away? We use the soother every night and now the setting are so much more difficult and not as personalized. This is complete crap fisher price, before this update I would have given you five stars.

Whomever decided to update the app needs to be fired.

My smart connect mobile was the best thing I bought for my second child 2 yrs ago. Fast, easy to use and easy to set ever little timer and setting. FisherPrice itself even worked awesome as a travel music soother. I highly recommended it to a few of our friends for their new upcoming kids.

After this new update, I can’t for the life of me get it on and working in one go, takes multiple retries to even login and load, this is after the errant pairing and repairing. I now have my mommy friends asking me what to do with their units since they all seem to be having their issues too.

If it ain’t broke, please don’t F with it. FP Developers, please roll back to the old version of FisherPrice and archive it ASAP!!

App is terrible

I bought a Lumalou at an exorbitant fee because I wanted the ability to control the soothe settings remotely. FisherPrice asks you to login each and every time, and the lumalou that I’ve paired with previously never stays paired. Almost every night I have to repair the thing if I want to use my phone to control the settings.

It’s completely useless to me. The custom settings I had set for 2hrs music, continuous light is now reset. I can’t turn on the light without also turning on the music from the remote button, or pairing to my phone again which makes its own noise and will wake the kids up. So if either of them wakes up in the dark, scared because their nightlight is out, what do I have to do? pair the lumalou again instead of just turning on the light and light alone from my phone.

I wish I could still return the lumalou because without a consistent app it’s useless

Your Update broke it

Our Deluxe soother worked great for the last two years. Whatever update you did in the last 24 hours messed everything up. I had to re-pair it with my phone. It will connect and then will tell me I have to re-pair again. Over and over. Troubleshooting is no help. Brings me to a chat bot that says “no agents available” when I try to ask a question. This is an essential product that helps parents with their kids sleeping habits. When it goes haywire the repercussions are much more than just a broken product. So disappointed! I’ll give an extra star since I haven’t had any issues until now.

More Frustrating Than Useful

This is actually the first app review I’ve left before, but I’ve spent the last several months trying to figure out a work-around to FisherPrice’s bugs and I finally give up and am going to try and find a replacement. FisherPrice recognizes and syncs to the device no problem, but then getting it to actually play the preset you’ve created is almost impossible over half of the time. Even though FisherPrice says “connected” none of the buttons work and it won’t play any presets. Closing and reopening FisherPrice works to fix the bug maybe 20% of them time, but usually you have to log out and then repair the device. What’s the point of the entire thing if I still need to go into my child’s room at 2am? Seriously, it’s a simple Bluetooth connected device… why is it so hard for a large company like this to create a working application for it?

Go back to the older version!!

I’ve had this music and light machine since my boy was born, now with the update his favorite animations are gone, which would always calm him down and even put him to sleep with the on the go music. Which now with the latest “bug fixes” that doesn’t even work! It doesn’t cycle through the songs anymore, just stops after each one is over. This is my boys nap time music! And now I have to find something else for him. Bring back the old version! Nothing was wrong with it, it was very user friendly and everything worked!

Now Requires me to create an Account!!!

Seriously, we’ve had this thing for 10 months and never had to create an account. Was a good app but I’m not handing over any of my info to you and from the looks of the screenshots you want a kids picture, name and what else? This is complete B.S. and there is no way to go back to the old version of FisherPrice which I’ve now deleted from my phone. Would never of bought our sound/light box head when we looked at FisherPrice initially it required an account. Congrats on losing us as a customer of your products! 😡

In practice it needs some improvement

Overall we like our hoppy dreams bunny and the ability to schedule sleep and control the bunny from a distance, however in practice it doesn’t really work that way. Every time I open FisherPrice I have to sign in and re pair the bunny, and in order to do that I have to open the back of the bunny and push the button. This means I can’t do things like add time to a nap when circumstances require, and my constant opening of the bunny means that my daughter is now always opening the bunny and pushing the pair button repeatedly. There doesn’t seem to be an option to stay signed in. It would be great if this functionality was addressed and streamlined, but our daughter is now attached to the bunny so replacing it with another product would be difficult.

Still not as accessible as it should be.

The accessibility issues that I reported before still exist. Buttons are not labeled, and the screenreader still reads low battery, regardless of what it actually shows on the screen, though the battery level is fine. I changed the batteries thinking that they were low, and then realized that it still said low after I changed them, and I wasted them. I don’t deal with waste well. It’s not only not good for my budget, but the environment as well. I don’t know if the music and sounds are app driven, but if they are, underwater forest on the seahorse tends to put my granddaughter on edge, rather than relaxing her. She does well with water sounds, but it seems to be the tones in it. I experience the same thing. If it was just water sounds, it would be so much better. Maybe adding just water sounds, while keeping underwater forest for those who have good results would be the answer.

No success connecting to three different iPhones

We tried to connect the bassinet to three different iPhones, and it always asks for a firmware update, and then the firmware update fails. Since the update is required, there’s is no way for us to control the bassinet with FisherPrice . Two phones are up to date, the third one I tried to see whether it would work with an older iOS. The developer promised to send a new bassinet; customer service was very responsive.

No dark mode??

I don't seem to be having the issues others are having - login is fine, connectivity is fine if I'm within a few rooms away, etc. But after having FisherPrice for a couple years now, how is there still no dark mode?! If I need to make a change while my son is barely asleep and I haven't snuck out yet, the bright white from my phone from FisherPrice is sure to wake him up!

3rd child swing I’ve owned

I’m on my 3rd newborn, and it’s crazy how far, just within 3years of creating my small family. These new technologies that they keep coming out with for baby swings and toys in general.
Being able to control with phone from a few feet away and not having to get up or walk over to with just a click of a button is very helpful!

Better then the competitors

Honestly I was going to buy a more expensive sound machine that does less than what the Fisher-Price does. My husband and one of our baby to have a projector and a sound machine and I wanted a nightlight for coming in and checking on her so to have that all in one with the Fisher-Price soother it’s the best honestly the best part is getting to control everything off your phone oh when they get older not stirred them while they’re sleeping everything can be done on your phone with the tap on the screen

Last version update

Fisher Price, halp! The latest version update made me re-log into FisherPrice for my Smart Connect Deluxe Soother. But I had to try a million times over to log in. An error message just keeps appearing. And when I am finally able to log in, FisherPrice then gives me an error message that my Soother can not pair at this time. I’ve had minor issues using this for the last 4 years, but this version update has a major bug that I now can’t use FisherPrice (which I relied on daily). Makes me want to try the Hatch. Please fix!

Update: the problem was fixed promptly and I now have no issues logging in or pairing FisherPrice to the soother. Thank you for a great product and promptly fixing the issue!
