Great Planner

This is a great planner app for those who like the set-up of a Franklin Planner. It could be improved of course in some ways (e.g. in the level of task complexity —- sub tasks etc), but its performance overall is superb and flexible and It is easy to use! You can slide tasks around to reorder them. You can also slide a task from the task column into your schedule column. Those two abilities are a big plus for someone like myself who wants a planner to be user friendly right from the start. OpusOne has a lot of functionality and has been well thought through. Frankly, I am surprised that it isn’t rated higher than many of the other planning apps out there. I have tried so many of them and I keep coming back to Opus One for its ease of use and performance. The developers are to be commended for their fine work!

Been waiting a long time for this!

Ever since my original iPad I’ve been looking for an app that truly replaces my old Franklin Planner. I finally have it in Opus One! It has everything I need, and I especially love the flexible daily notes. It’s clunkier on the iPhone but still usable, and I prefer iPad or Mac for bigger planning, anyway. The developer seems responsive (based on others, I haven’t needed to contact support) and I think some of the features I hope to eventually have are already on their list: better Apple Pencil integration, more customization of the Franklin Covey-type screens (compass, planner, etc.), sublists for tasks.

I have encountered one glitch I hope will be fixed ASAP—when editing a repeating event it does the opposite when I select “for this event only” or “all events.” Weird.

Thank you for bringing me back my planner!!

The concept is brilliant, but...

I love OpusOne and truthfully I would use it, but is not wholistic enough. We have moved to a world where we use and prefer less paper, so I want to use my Apple Pencil to make quick notes but also to create to do lists, or a note for an event .. or just create an event ... like I would do it with paper ... but I cannot so for this reason I would prefer other apps that allow me to do this. The concept, UI is the friendliest and most realistic from all the apps out there but again .. some of us want to also interface with calendars that are work related that most of the time are using outlook ... can’t do that either .. so there are 3 stars as I really liked the concept, the fill and the functionalities .. but please take in consideration where the world is moving, that we want to cut less trees to make notes that after will be thrown away .. and that are multiple platforms out there ... not only Mac.

Sadly, I use my Google calendar... and hp

This is just really a bummer... I have to literally choose one or the other and that feels like a monopoly to me. I don’t think, apps should discriminate on which products you use. It’s really unfortunate, your basically saying buy iOS products or don’t use our apps. That’s just not how life is, we’re human diverse and use many different products so I find that as a major red flag that it’s only on Mac... the website is so shady, it still has go daddy on it. No seo, work this is a shell company and should be investigated. The sad part is a lot of research went into creating OpusOne which makes me think this in fact a shell company. I’m so tired of great apps coming with companies that super shady and with all the missing people these days we reslly need to be careful which apps are shell companies or just not really ran well companies. That means, if your going to put and transfer your life to a planner it needs to be from a reliable source. Reliable company, and website.

Franklin Covey on steroids.

I used to be a fan of Franklin Covey, but smartphones made carrying a bulky planner seem impractical. As impractical as it is, I would lie if I don’t accept that smartphones’ calendars don’t really cut it. There is something magical about a Franklin Covey (or their clones). Opus is a great app that gives you the convenience of a smartphone and the magic of a Franklin Covey.
The fact that you can control your planner from your phone, tablet, and computer is a plus. You can add items, dates, and tasks at home from a tablet, but have access to them outside of your home sweet home from your phone.
I am digging the fact that daily notes lets you add pictures, places on a map, or record your voice. Makes it easier to understand those notes.
Happy customer indeed.

Hard to understand

I want to like OpusOne. I just wish there were better tutorials online that go beyond “how to” and into the “Why”. I don’t get the difference between “Compass”, “Master Tasks”, “Goals” etc. I feel like I have missed something, like this whole app is based on some planning philosophy I am not aware of. But in my reading of the website and the information provided in OpusOne , there is no reference to any philosophy like Kaizen, or GTD, or SMART, etc. I feel lost when I try to use OpusOne.

I love the sync with Google Calendar and the Notes/Journaling parts. It is just the task management part that gets messy and convoluted. There are too many layers of categorization that I cannot seem to figure out how to use.

Closest thing to Franklin-Covey planner

OpusOne works very much like a Franklin Planner, both in function and in philosophy. To get the full benefit, spend time working through the Compass, Mission, and Goals.

OpusOne syncs across my tablet, phone, and Mac, which is very useful. The independent apps make good use of the screen space of the three platforms. Specifically, it’s notable that the phone version is not just a dumbed-down version of the desktop or tablet.

Four stars because the interface is a bit clunky and inconsistent. However, Piso13 is constantly improving the software, so those bumps will smooth, I’m sure.

Really Like This App

I have used a notebook/at-a-glance planner for the longest time. I now am carrying so many devices around that it’s difficult to keep up with the notebook planner. I’ve tried numerous digital planning apps and I have not been able to stay organized as I did with the “at-a-glance” daily planner until trying the Opus One planner. It is excellent and I can use it across all my apple devices. Very easy to use, very easy to make to-do lists for the day and week as well as add events to the calendar that I need to keep track of. Really loving OpusOne , thanks!

Finally, I can drop my paper planner

I have been a paper planner guy for my whole life. This is the last item that was holding me back from going totally digital ... now I am totally digital thanks to Opus One. Love the Role, Values and Mission sections. These keep me on track in my life, personal and business. Thanks, I have waited a long time for this and it is spot on.

Only question is if I am missing something for an automatic sync b/t phone and pad? Seems I have to manually sync, unlike my previous attempt at a digital planner which had options for automatic sync ... only thing holding me back from 5 stars.

OPUS ONE JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER

Oh how I love OpusOne. I used to be a Franklin Planner user but got tired of carrying all the paper around. Then I recently started using the Panda Planner, loved the creative side. I stumbled upon OpusOne and it really does marry the two planners together in one app. Plus it works seamlessly with Google Calendar, its is visually stunning (please come out with more templates). I can set goals, write down what I am thankful for, upload images and AS OF TODAY, I can write using my Apple Pencil. I am in love and this is worth the price per year.

By

Like but....

I like the set up but my disappointment is that I can’t write anywhere but on one page and there is no highlighter. I’m a writer and love being able to write everything. I suggest making that an option for people who love writing. Everything else is amazing and again the set up is great. I have been forced to look for apps that are more Apple Pencil friendly. Please update this if you can.

On the mark!

Loving OpusOne! It truly replaces the Franklin-Covey paper planner. I've used it for about a month now and it is what I've waited years for in terms of stability and reliability. It syncs between my phone and iPad great. Well done...keep up the great work!!
Update: used this for over a year now and STILL love it. Developers keep adding and improving it. Totally does all I need it to do with the Franklin-Covey system. Highly recommend!! Again...well done!
Another Update after 2+ (or 3+?) yeas: awesome...they are STILL updating OpusOne consistently!! WTG! Smokin’!

Used to love it

I used their previous app extensively and love their FC integration unfortunately I don’t use a Mac nor an iPad. It therefore makes little sense to pay for a subscription that would cover all 3 when I can only use my iPhone. I have asked a few times for them to consider different subscription fee or allow me to buy a pro version like Opus Domini (which I paid for but no longer supported) used to allow but still nothing. I have moved on to another app but keep checking back in case they do decide on a different payment model.

So frustrated. Want to like, but it’s not useable

I tried OpusOne years ago when it first came out. Thought they worked out the bugs when syncing—but they haven’t. The program doesn’t synch with my other devices which makes it practically in useable. I spend more time trying to synch my devices than I do planning my day. I’ll plan my day on my iPad and open my phone, but nothing I planned is on it. And I’m paying a monthly fee to use a program that doesn’t work and now I’m not planning my day and my productivity is dropping off not getting better. Until they work this out I can’t use it any more.

Last update broke the calendar

The latest update to OpusOne broke the calendar. I can’t navigate from day to day without it getting stuck on a previous day & it doesn’t hide the hidden calendars coming in from my google calendar.

We tried to put this in a support ticket but their support ticket system just keeps saying captcha failed so…. Review it is!

Hopefully you can get this stuff fixed quickly because the apps going to be worthless until it is!

Franklin Planner for iOS

OpusOne is great and I’m using it on my iPad (first), iPhone and Mac(s) — OpusOne is great. Good FP replacement. I’ve gone all digital a long time ago and when PlanPlus when subscription (a very expensive subscription) I dropped it.

OpusOne has revived my interest in FP again.

Couple app requests:
- can you add functionality to move tasks between Master Tasks and Daily Tasks?
- Creata a task type or scheme that a task is a 1) Work Week Task, Weekend Task, or normal task?

I have some [B] tasks for Work that pile up but cannot get to right away and they bleed over day after day. I’d want the history when first entered without seeing them on the weekends when I dont need to fret about them.

Thanks for a great app. Love it.

Fraud opus one is opus domini

I caution anyone on buying OpusOne. They developed a previous app. After paying for the pro version they abandoned that app by no longer providing updates then created this one. The previous planner worked great and they abandoned it because it was a one price deal. Now they create this subscription app and killed the other so it no longer works anymore so all you data is lost and you have no way to get it back unless you downgrade your device. I had been waiting for them to update OpusOne only to search and find this one. Disgusting behavior on Piso13 part

Calendars

I love the layout- finding a calendar with a simple day view with events and tasks is difficult. But calendars !! I need access to all my calendars, Google calendars and subscribed calendars. Without that, I can’t even give OpusOne a chance. Did the free trial for full access, but it doesn’t change the calendar selection. Dark mode would be a great edition, but I’d use this even without if it worked with all my calendars. Disappointing bc it had so much potential.

Finally a true Franklin-Covey replacement

I’ve been looking for something like this since my first Blackberry in 2007. Everything fell short and I was never able to stop using the FC book. OpusOne is an automated version of the FC method. I’m a trained user and OpusOne has it all in the package. Get OpusOne , get the subscription - it’s amazing. By the way, I’m using OpusOne on my iPad, iPhone, and my iMacs. The cloud syncing works great. Thank you!!!

Distorted large (appointment) font

Hi,

I like your planner but for one thing. The font for any of the scheduled appointments is (unusually) too large (I sent you an email with a screenshot of it, along with its diagnostics)

Your App is taking up a lot of space (please see screenshot in the email that I sent you). Where in this part of the planner’s section it appears your font is largely distorted)

Your App’s font’s problem: it avoids listing, or displaying any upcoming daily appointments (due to the limited planner’s section (it looks like it does not have enough space). Preventing me from having easier and faster checks to look up future appointments. (It seems your App’s excessive large font prevents this section from being displayed right for any upcoming — appointments.) Why I did not want to get a subscription, (because your App in such a condition appears to be visually unusable at times)

Wonderful Planner

Simulates Franklin original paper planner, which is the ultimate standard of productivity

It needs a follow up or continue feature for tasks already “in progress” such that you don’t have to see the task in your daily list every day while “in progress” , but shows up again on the day that it needs to be worked on again. Most tasks that are in progress are not worked on every day until complete but are worked on for a bit then put away for a week or so then picked up again.
Otherwise it’s perfect
Almost there!!! Keep at it!

Great App and outstanding support.

I have been a user of the Franklin Covey Planning System for many years. This is the closest electronic version that I have found. It works great, and when I had an issue with something not performing the way it should, tech support stayed on top of the issue until everything was working correctly.

I highly recommend!

Love the app I hope it’s stable!

I’m using this as my primary day planner and meeting tracker. I’ve had problems in the past, and I’m really hoping OpusOne is now stable, and syncing correctly and regularly!

Previous review
I’ve been a big fan of Opus but the chronic problem being able to sync is unacceptable. This seems to be an ongoing problem and one I’ve had many times in the past.

This app is what to do lists should be

The daily planner is truly an emulation of a physical daily planner. The Mac app is just as fantastic and syncs perfectly. I love that you can drag and drop tasks onto the day planner calendar. I love the week planner function, and the various organization tools like categories and priorities. I also also love that we can provide feature requests and vote on others requests. My personal and work life are so much more productive thanks to Opus One. Hats off to this developer(s)

Opus One has a lot of potential

I bought Opus One today and was thrilled that it could take the place of my Franklin Covey planner or, better yet, work in conjunction with my paper planner.

The major features that are missing and became a deal breaker for me are the Weekly and Daily Planning features in MacOS, but not in iOS. Whether or not I have a Mac, I do a majority of my work on an iPad Pro and without the Weekly and Daily Planning features, OpusOne is not that useful. But, that’s just me.

I’ll keep checking back and see if they’ve been added. There is a requested Features List on Trello and I see that Weekly Planning is on the list, but not sure the priority.

Amazing Planner!! Just needs to sync with Windows/PC

This is everything I was looking for, and more! I used to use the Franklin Covey planner before smart phones were around and this is the best app to provide the same features and more! The only complaint I have is that it does not have an online version or PC/Windows app that would allow me to use it on my work desktop and laptop and sync with my apple mobile devices. I hope that is on its way soon, since I see a lot of requests from other users for that feature. The support is amazing, and the developers have a great system to allow users to request new features and help OpusOne grow and develop to meet the needs of its customers. Keep up the amazing work! This is a remarkable product!!

Great app with a few limitations

Great app from a functionality perspective. Love being able to assign tasks to days and that they roll over. My BIGGEST irk with OpusOne is that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to (or if it’s possible) to change the category of a task. I’ve created multiple, but it auto-assigns the default and there is no way to change it. Almost excellent but that is a real issue. Hopefully I’m just missing something but have not seen any answers online!!

Very Good Product, and Very Good Support

I started my subscription to Piso 13 around 15 years ago, and I have not looked back. This product was the ideal digital replacement for the paper day planner I previously carried around at the office, and on business trips. It is well organized, and very straight forward to use. I recently contacted their Product Support to clarify a feature; I received a timely and concise response. I highly recommend this digital day planner.
