Full of great ideas, not bad execution

The only reason I gave it one star is in hopes that the developer sees it. It’s really a great app. I have just had a problem where midimittr keeps giving me pop-ups asking me to turn on Bluetooth to make a network connection, while I’m not using it. It all started happening when I added the widget to the widget list. Since then, it pops up every two or three minutes. Removing the widget and turning off background functions hasn’t resolved it. It could honestly be ipados, since crapple is now becoming known as the company which once made reliable devices - while Steve was alive.
I’m about to uninstall midimittr as the pop-up is extremely frustrating. Again, I haven’t had any other problems really. Although, I honestly haven’t used it a ton (It just isn’t extremely useful in my workflow).

Running USB version. 'IOS Audio" crashes app on M1 Mac

Running USB version. When I launch MIDI LE USB, the midi works to trigger my ipad, but it immediately disables my ipad as an audio input to my mac. When i click 'IOS Audio' under the menubar icon, midimittr just crashes on my M1 mac. Shame. No manual or instructions.

No manual or response from the developer, who apparently doesn't care. Complete waste of time trying to set up. STAY AWAY.

Get it

Incredible utility app for using wireless and usb midi. Can’t believe it’s free! Thanks Dev!!!

Indispensable

midimittr is incredibly important to me as far as using iOS soft synths like Thor and Magellan in DAWs like Logic.

No issues so far, but there is definitely some learning curve for setup.

Great App

Let's me set up midi network connections and keeps them open. Simple to use and has always been very reliable.

the best

Been looking for simple app to transfer midi between ipad and mac. Works perfectly, very simple app, no bloatware and useless options. Just getting the job done.

Works for Windows via USB

The Bluetooth part is great...but better for me is the USB route. The Windows part is still in Beta, but I got it working with HP Notebook on Windows 7 and iPad-mini Retina via USB for both sending and receding midi data!

Note: requires download of other software on the Windows PC.

Excellent, wish I knew about this earlier...

Whoa, I can send chord progressions from an MPC Touch to just about any synth on my iPhone/iPad & resample it back into the MPC...That's just the beginning, once you throw Audiobus into the mix you can add effects and record it anywhere you want on ur iPad/Phone... opens up endless possibilities. Insanely great stuff guys, thanks.

Needs auto reconnect, then it will be perfect!

Love midimittr. I used it with my DrumPants MIDI over Bluetooth triggers and could control all the music apps I use from my pants! Latency was very good and connects perfectly every time.

One thing though is when I go out of range, I'd like it to automatically reconnect to the Instrument when I come back in range. It's super important when performing to have it reconnect without having to fiddle with the iPad in the middle of a set.

Simple

Exactly what I needed

Great use with the OP-Z and Bluetooth Midi

Works effortlessly with my IOS devices, OP-Z synth, and Puc + Bluetooth Midi converter. Allows me to play a larger keyboard without further investment and leaves my usb-c port open on my synth.

Still works on iPhone/iPad

For connecting to macOS, this is still quite awesome. With two devices connected -- you have to start this app on iOS first on both devices -- only one seems to get MIDI back. But it's fine and more convenient than the Apple solution using audio/midi setup.

Thanks Matthias for keeping this working! No small task for sure.

Perfect!

Very thankful for midimittr. Was having major issues getting OP-1F to play nicely with AUM. midimittr solved my problems instantly.

Very convenient app!

In conjunction with other apps that can do accelerometer or ‘gesture’ based midi, this allows me to just strap a spare iPhone to my arm and wave my arm around to augment midi cc’s, this augmenting the sounds I’m playing with.

Perfect connection

I was able to connect my Yamaha SHS-300 keytar connected via Bluetooth perfectly. There zero latency and I highly recommend midimittr for any musician. I’m can’t wait to play a live show and be able to move across the stage without any cables to worry about getting in the way.

Thank you for this

Simple app that solves a big problem. Latency

With midimittr and a lightning cable, you can turn your iPad into a really REALLY powerful midi controller with almost zero latency. Great apps like the fugue machine aren't just limited to iPad only apps. I send those signals to Bitwig and get great stuff. Thank you very much for making this free.

Works like Ableton’s midi preferences

This was the only app that successfully let me bridge USB midi between two pieces of audio equipment.

Basically I plugged my digitakt and Korg SQ-1 into my phone via a lightning USB hub and midimittr showed me the same stuff I would see in abletons midi preferences. Now I can use my digitakt as a 2 channel midi to CV converter! Thanks guys 💙

A life saviour!

The capabilities of this little app are amazing. My Mac wouldn't receive MIDI events from my Roland FP-30 via Bluetooth, and I was about to give up when I found this free little gem. I connect my phone to the keyboard instead, and then routed it's signal back to the MacBook. It works surprisingly well! Thank you for creating this.

Yes! This is the one!

It was a bit of a hassle to get USB set up on Windows (requires additional installation of loopMIDI and a specific version of iTunes), but once it is set up, it runs flawlessly with very little latency. I am able to route my Novation Circuit as a MIDI controller through Reaper and use it to control almost anything on my iPad! Major kudos to the developer for releasing this as free software.

Finally!

Finally someone made this. USB MIDI is much more stable and low latency. And the connection is so easy. Bravo!
