Per Genomapp Not a DX Tool🤣

While the company clearly states the reports are not for medical diagnosis, it should be somewhat accurate, or follow through on that they are advertising. I’m not sure what testing methods they use to extract/decipher the raw dna, but I found it to be highly inAccurate! I had already had my dna tested professionally tested and had an idea of what he results should be and this test did not represent any correlating results from a professional test! The only thing I found they got correct was my blood group!🤣
Edit* while this app was prompt in its generic rebuttals (as so noted on many users who dared give a less than stellar review) along w/ it’s snarky final comment(way to keep it professional this app🤣). I still will keep to my original comment that things did not align w/ a professional gene testing & people should understsnd this app not a medical dx tool(which they state themselves...apparently I’m not allowed to say that though🙄). Maybe if I paid money into the ones they charged for, I’d see more matches but not going to be doing that after the free intro was lacked correlation. Finally, I understand blood type is not projected, I mistyped but meant the 1 “blood group” that was listed, which you do determine “blood groups” as it’s part of the free section...am I wrong?

Data wrong! MTHFR 677

Both 23andme and Genesight show that I have the T/T (or A/A) for the MTHFR 677. This means methylation is reduced by up to 70%. (Homozygous). My doctor prescribed high dose methylated folic acid and B complex immediately. Have to work harder to remove toxins;Folate is necessary to get dopamine to your brain. Genomapp shows NOTHING wrong which is dangerous, especially if you are pregnant. I’m not sure why they include a methylation report section and don’t report it.

Run!!!

Did my ancestry before and wanted to use Genomapp. It won’t upload my data from ancestry. I subscribed for the use, but can get access where to stop the continued subscription. This is bogus. I will need to block them from my Apple account.

I’ve done most of the 3rd party

So I have my raw data from my genetic testing and I wanted to see if there was more to find out after I did promethease. I’ve known since before I did the genetic testing I have two copies of the MTHFR mutation and have had issues with homocysteine levels, folate, and B6. I luckily have never had a stillbirth but I have had miscarriages, unfortunately my mother has had 2 stillborn babies, thanks to the MTHFR mutation. Genomapp says I do not have the MTHFR mutation at all while every other app, promethease, and my doctors ALL say I have it! How erroneous can their data analysis be at this app to report this incorrectly? How dangerous is this!?

Beware

Stated I did not have any methylation mutations, however it has been discovered by my genetic physician that I have homozygous C677T methylation mutation.

Take this information they provide with a grain of salt because it isn’t necessarily accurate. If they state you do not have the mutation- do not believe it. Get it checked with a reliable source.

Genomapp does not properly interpret any genetic data.

Don’t jump to worse case scenario

Reviewing this information without proper psychological support can make you think you’re doomed due to genetics. Providing some level of genetic counseling would be something many of us would be interested in.

Limited conditions

The simplicity of Genomapp is great, that is once you figure out how the heck to get the files to them! My beef is that there are so few conditions they are looking at. For example, there are no mental health conditions in the report. No Alzheimer’s or other cognitive disorders. I wouldn’t waste your money. Go get promethease instead.

It could be better

Genomapp has potential. But, the descriptions of medical conditions or names of conditions are horrible. Expect to Google most of your results. A few of the issues it said I had an increased chance of contracting I couldn’t find on Google! I hope I don’t get whatever mystery illnesses those were!

Need more public language friendly and

Provided good information, but the language design only for scientists or people with knowledge of this specific terminology! Also references on sites with same terminology. I think it will be better if explained in more simple language and refer to more scientific sites!
Highlights need more clearly, smiley face is clear sad face not enough so is third one, need more clear explanations for sad and crazy face, also it will be nice if we can print list for necessary tests what we could show to doctors (with language what doctors and lab workers understand), and/ or refer to other organizations what can do this tests!!!
Good, but need improvements!

Only as good as the data you give it

I uploaded my ancestry data to try to help understand some of the markers i have. Unfortunately i think Ancestry miscalls certain snps which likely confuses Genomapp. It claimed i had vEDS and some 1 in a million disease that i obviously don't have. Cross check the data on open snp or snpedia before jumping to any conclusions.

Love App but Please Update

I have loved and used Genomapp for several years. It used to be updated regularly. It’s been a year, please update. 🙏🏼

New customer

Lovethe app!

I have to let you know that I am thankful for the this app app, which flagged a rare genetic metabolic disease (glutaric acidemia type 1) in my 17 year old daughter. this app brought this serious health issue to our attention

Great app!

Very easy to navigate.
When will new version be out? Thank you!!

Entertaining, updates fairly regularly

I’m using my Genes For Good data and it’s definitely fun. Accessible and entertaining, and seems to update pretty frequently which makes the $10 price tag worthwhile.

Amazing App

Genomapp is not for fun, it provides real reports based off your raw DNA. I recommend paying the small fee for the additional reports helped me diagnose an autoimmune disease. Easy to read and the information Genomapp provides is plentiful!

Great Presentation of Data

I really like how the data is presented in an easy to understand format. I sent it to my doctor and he is fascinated as well. I hope they include the marker/trait I am most curious about in their next database update.

Great app

It works great gives me a lot of information just upload your raw dna data.

Absolutely awesome

Very in-depth

Surveys

Why am I contributing all of my opinions and health for me to not get this information back. I can not subscribe to all services all the time. I just want some information from you if you want information from me.
