Pizza Hut BOOK IT Reviews

The only reason I downloaded PizzaHutBOOKIT is because my daughter's teacher is requiring that they use this to log their reading. The problem is, PizzaHutBOOKIT times out after like 15 minutes of reading. My daughter reads for more than an hour at a time, so when she goes to click that she's done reading, when she should have only an hour worth of time, it's only at like 15 minutes. PizzaHutBOOKIT also closes if you get a phone call while the timer is going. My daughter had been reading for over 45 minutes, I got a phone call, returned back to PizzaHutBOOKIT , and had to start the timer all over again as it was back at 0!!!! What a waste!! All the time my daughter was reading and she received absolutely NO CREDIT for it. PizzaHutBOOKIT is a piece of crap. If it was not required for school we would not be using it. I am going to inform my daughter's teacher about these issues as it is very frustrating and I am done with PizzaHutBOOKIT. Do not plan on using it anymore. Needs a ton of improvement. Sadly others have reported these same issues and still NOTHING has been done about it. My daughter's class used it last year and we had the same issues, and still nothing has improved this year. Absolutely ridiculous. I'd give it 0 stars if I could, as it's not even worth 1 star. Save yourself the frustration and DO NOT download PizzaHutBOOKIT.

Does it not work with iOS 9?
Also, please add functionality for the student to see their progress for their monthly goal (so the parent can know their progress too!).
Needs to allow multiple users without having to log out and log back in with the random string of letters issued to the student each time. In some families, multiple children share one device.

I was counting on this to keep track of my child's reading, but it has lost half of the time accrued over the last month. It's a glorified timer that doesn't work very well. Disappointed.

If you leave for a second it pauses the timer. If you swipe up to try to dim the screen, it pauses. (Btw, VERY hard to get it to even swipe up with PizzaHutBOOKIT). Seems to be little more than a battery hog. Have fun for those 15 mins.

Every time there is an update, I have to find my child's login info. This is really annoying and a waste of time. Once they are signed up we shouldn't have to do this again.

Please fix PizzaHutBOOKIT! I would love to use it for my daughter this year. We use it a couple of years ago & it was very helpful in keeping her motivated to read. We were so excited to do it again this year! Very disappointed that it doesn't work. 😟

Registered my son for book it program online and found out they have an app. Got super stoked to have my son record his progress but PizzaHutBOOKIT doesn't work. Hopefully the developer is reading this review and will look into it. Such a great program to have for the kids...wish PizzaHutBOOKIT worked a little better! :/

PizzaHutBOOKIT stops keeping track of the time if you leave PizzaHutBOOKIT . I use my phone for other things and cannot just leave it open to keep the timer running for my child to read. It would be better if PizzaHutBOOKIT could just have a space to add the time my child read as she reads in her room alone sometimes and isn't aloud to take my phone up there.

When we downloaded it, it worked great! We loved it! But it hasn't worked since the first time we used it. Please fix this. My daughter wants to track her time.

This would be great to track my kids' reading if I could have more than one child's profile on there at a time. I don't like having to find their registration number every time I want to log them in. It's frustrating and makes me not want to use PizzaHutBOOKIT at all. Maybe I'm missing something but it seems straightforward. Let me have more than one profile. Please!

My kids read a lot. PizzaHutBOOKIT stops keeping track when you switch to another app or when your iPad locks. I wish it would continue to keep track. Also, my kids love to read for more than an hour at a time but PizzaHutBOOKIT automatically stops after a few minutes and asks them if they are still there. This is very distracting and my kids gave up using it and returned to using the stop watch on their iPads. They love the dragons and hopefully these issues will be fixed soon.

My son downloaded PizzaHutBOOKIT , and it started up just fine. The problem came when our iPad went into sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity. When my son came back 20 minutes later to click on "done reading," PizzaHutBOOKIT had stopped! "You left, so we paused the timer," it said. There was no way to manually log in the time either! PizzaHutBOOKIT needs to be able to continue running in the background while the iPad is used for other things. I am a teacher whose class is on the Book It Program as well. I'm hesitant to pass out the parent letters for PizzaHutBOOKIT until this problem is fixed.

Got PizzaHutBOOKIT and was working fine now PizzaHutBOOKIT will not load. Tried re installing it and still same thing. My sons school is using the book it program and he loves loves to read, but with PizzaHutBOOKIT now not working properly we can't record his time spent...huge bummer please fix ASAP.. We count on PizzaHutBOOKIT a lot!

I would like to be able to go type in minutes for a day she read while I wasn't there or not have to keep PizzaHutBOOKIT open while she reads if I answer the phone it doesn't mean she didn't keep reading. Pizza Hut can't expect every kid age 5-12 has their own cell phone. Love the idea but too basic!

Ok, my kid LOVES pizza and the fact his school is participating is a plus. So I did my part and downloaded PizzaHutBOOKIT . It’s a great way to give him control on his reading challenges, my only dislike is the fact if your child is reading books downloaded to the same device PizzaHutBOOKIT is on you can’t do both. This really needs to be fixed, the only way around it so that my child can get his points to play with the dragons is to leave the device on for the allotted time that he actually read. Yes, that is technically cheating, but I don’t know of another way that will give him the coin credit he actually earned.

Please fix, plus it would be nice that if you are a parent of child who isn’t in a school or homeschool participating that you could benefit from the pizza certificate award.

PizzaHutBOOKIT is basically a glorified timer, the description could be a little more clear as to what PizzaHutBOOKIT actually is. My kids, however, love the dragon and all of the accessories. They have already been reading a lot to earn coins! I have not had any crashing issues yet.

PizzaHutBOOKIT stopped working yesterday. My son keeps trying to get on PizzaHutBOOKIT to track his time but every time we try to open it, it immediately crashes. Please fix it! Thanks

Fantastic App and idea, however. . . Many kids/families have older devices if any at all, it is very disappointing that it is not compatible with even the iOS older than 7. It would have been much further reaching and motivating if the developers had taken into consideration that MANY cannot afford to keep up with every newest model, especially for elementary aged children. I am disappointed that many kids won't be able to utilize such a nice resource. Please rethink your audience.

I love the idea of using PizzaHutBOOKIT for my daughter to track her reading but the must frustrating thing with PizzaHutBOOKIT is it will not keep time if I switch apps and keep it open in the background. And if a call comes in while the timer is going, it completely resets her timer, instead of even just picking up where it was at! She can't get a true time off it. She loves seeing the "reward" at the end but it isn't accurate enough. So it's back to using the built in phone timer and writing down her times.

Really helps our four kids track their reading. The dragons and their accessories make it even more fun to read. Glad to see Pizza Hut bringing this to mobile platforms.
