The only reason I downloaded this app is because my daughter's teacher is requiring that they use this to log their reading. The problem is, the app times out after like 15 minutes of reading. My daughter reads for more than an hour at a time, so when she goes to click that she's done reading, when she should have only an hour worth of time, it's only at like 15 minutes. The app also closes if you get a phone call while the timer is going. My daughter had been reading for over 45 minutes, I got a phone call, returned back to the app, and had to start the timer all over again as it was back at 0!!!! What a waste!! All the time my daughter was reading and she received absolutely NO CREDIT for it. This app is a piece of crap. If it was not required for school we would not be using it. I am going to inform my daughter's teacher about these issues as it is very frustrating and I am done with this app. Do not plan on using it anymore. Needs a ton of improvement. Sadly others have reported these same issues and still NOTHING has been done about it. My daughter's class used it last year and we had the same issues, and still nothing has improved this year. Absolutely ridiculous. I'd give it 0 stars if I could, as it's not even worth 1 star. Save yourself the frustration and DO NOT download this app.

My son downloaded the app, and it started up just fine. The problem came when our iPad went into sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity. When my son came back 20 minutes later to click on "done reading," the app had stopped! "You left, so we paused the timer," it said. There was no way to manually log in the time either! The app needs to be able to continue running in the background while the iPad is used for other things. I am a teacher whose class is on the Book It Program as well. I'm hesitant to pass out the parent letters for the app until this problem is fixed.

My kids read a lot. This app stops keeping track when you switch to another app or when your iPad locks. I wish it would continue to keep track. Also, my kids love to read for more than an hour at a time but the app automatically stops after a few minutes and asks them if they are still there. This is very distracting and my kids gave up using it and returned to using the stop watch on their iPads. They love the dragons and hopefully these issues will be fixed soon.
